The circumference is way much

The circumference is way much too narrow. The weight of the mug is far less superior quality than the originals. Very disappointed.

These are the best size mugs for all sorts of beverages! So glad they came back in stock! I had some of these Capp mugs that matched my dishes but they broke or were lost through the 20 years I’ve had this classic pattern.

Nice mugs

These MIkasa mugs round out our Italian Countryside dinnerware serving set. The set came with cups and saucers, but these mugs are perfect for everyday use whether coffee, tea or hot chocolate, and you don't have to mess with a saucer.

Nice, slim and functional

These mugs are beautiful and functional. They are sort of medium size. I have been using one for over ten years and loved it. But then it got broken by accident, so I was happy to find the same ones here.

Dissapointed

Happy to have replacement mugs as mine have chipped and have glaze damage. I bought my dishes in 2003. I love them! The design of the new mugs is not nearly as defined as my originals. But…what’s the choice? Perhaps ordering from Replacements and hoping for the older mugs??

I purchased my original 12

I purchased my original 12 Piece place setting of the Mikasa Italian countryside dishes in 1999. I had gotten the smaller cup/ saucer with the set. I thought I would like the mugs, however, I feel the quality is not quite there. The fluted bands and column like detailing are not as prominent and sharp as my original set. I also purchased 8 salad plates. They also lack in the sharpness of the fluted bands and column like detailing. I was going to return the mugs, however, the cost to return convinced me to keep them and just deal with it. Thank you.

Ordered set of 4 mugs to replace mugs that were chipped to match dishes. One of the four was broken during shipping. Customer service procedure is s excellent and I have already received the replacement mug. Very happy with entire transaction.

Doesn't match and poor quality

I bought 8 place-settings of Italian Countryside in 2015 and love it! I recently broke a mug and so ordered this set of four. The new mugs are much heavier and the pattern is extremely poor. I had to contact Lifetime Brands to get Mikasa to take them back and give me a full refund. I'm still able to buy some items that match my current set, but I've read many other poor reviews of this nature under the 16-piece dinnerware set. Based on these reviews, this downturn in quality seems to have started at the end of 2017. What has happened to Mikasa? I bought this open stock style, because I love it and so I could count on replacing items. The Customer Care center doesn't want to admit or explain this. This is the 2nd review I've written for this product. The first one wasn't posted.

Mugs don't match!!

I ordered this set of mugs on June 1, 2023 (order #MKS250328) and was very disappointed. They don't match the mugs I already have! The original mugs weigh approximately 7.63 oz. The new mugs weigh 9 oz and the pattern is extremely poor. What is going on here? I recently ordered a dinner plate and a cereal bowl and they matched my other dishes perfectly. Why can't Mikasa make the mugs match? I called about this and the customer service lady blew me off. This needs to be fixed. I brand like Mikasa shouldn't let this continue.

my china is from Mikasa. I use it everyday. Excellent quality, durable and oven to table. I love the pattern. I was missing some mugs to complete what I always have. It took a while for them to be back in stock. Finally got them. Love them!!!!

Handle fall off!

I'm hosting Eater brunch. Walking into the dining room carrying a mug of coffee to a guest and... BAM... the handle snaps off! The mug full of coffee falls to the floor and hot coffee splashes all over my guests! This was not the first mug that the handle snapped off if. For others over the past 6 months or so. They seem to get brittle over time and fail.

Mug handles just fall off

The mug handles FALL off under any circumstances. We have had them fall off when setting the table, clearing the table, taking them from the cabinet, and even once when a guest picked up the mug to drink from it. Thankfully that happened only once. Because I have of Mikassa Italian Countryside service for 12, I always replace the mugs. I have probably replaced 15 or 20 over the past 6 or 7 years. Macy's replaced about 4 for me for free but I can't keep letting that happen when it is a Mikassa problem, not a Macy's problem. I did ask Macy's if they would give me the name of the MIkassa rep so I could bring this to their attention, but Macy's wouldn't give me a name.

CHEAPLY MADE CHIPS EASILY NOT AS GOOD AS MY ORIGINAL SET

The material quality is okay. Without them being on sale I would never buy again. They don't last long with regular use. The whole line of product has declined in quality over the years. Mikasa is no longer better than Walmart goods. In fact Corell is even better way better

Packed well !

I bought the cappuccino mugs to replace some lost in move. I've owned a 12 complete place setting since Nov 2000. I really have liked these dishes cups and mugs. That said... although these came well packed (3 stars for that) I am disappointed in the quality of the mugs. First, the color is off. It is definitely not the same as the rest of my dishes. Second the engraving around the rims ( that I loved so much all these years ) is almost imperceptible. On some mugs you can hardly see it. This is not the MIKASA quality that I expected. I will be in the market to replace my entire set soon. You have lost a faithful customer!

Better than expected. Great size!

I was hesitant to buy the coffee mugs because I thought they might be too small, but their size and shape are fine for a good, generous, hot cup of coffee. The stoneware is strong, has never chipped on me and has a smooth glossy finish and it's not thick and clunky or so thin that your coffee's cold before you finish. The handle is a good comfortable size. Glad I bought them.

Our go-to dinnerware

We’ve owned Mikasa Italian Countryside for 15 years, and just recently bought another set for our vacation house. Whether you’re dining casually or more formally, it suits. I have glasses, placemats/napkins and flatware for both formal and informal settings. The Italian Countryside is like a chameleon and always fits in with the occasion. The lovely ivory shade goes with all colors of placemats and tablecloths. It wears well and is easy to care for. We have fine china but prefer the Mikasa.
