Great Purchase

The desk/shelf combo works great for my office space. It took a person with average skills set around two hours to get it assembled. It is visually pleasing and I like that I can rotate the desk around.

Love my desk. It is a little wobbly, but is perfect for my photography studio. The one downfall is doesnit have anywhere for you to hide anything. Everything is seen.

Since I am short, I struggled a bit with the assembly and the instructions werent easy to follow. BUT once I set it up, I absolutely loved it. It was perfect for my work from home office, and also provided much needed storage space. It was the perfect solution for my small apartment.

This desk worked out great and assembly was fairly easy. I took a star off for the parts. I was missing one screw to secure the upper right portion of the bookcase. I contacted customer service about it and they placed an order for replacement parts but it has been 8 months+ and still no hardware. At this point I'm not sure it's ever coming. HOWEVER the desk itself is great. I did order a clear desktop protector to keep it clean and to eliminate the wood grain altering any writing done on the desktop.

I am writing this after a few weeks. I am updating an earlier review I wrote that focused on the shipping and assembly which is a total cluster. Like so many other reviews have mentioned, despite what seems like good packing, the thing apparently can't make it to your home without damage. Please note that when you order this desk it comes through Wayfair as two separate orders and that seems to be because you get two huge packages that come completely separately. My first package came on a Thursday and I thought WOO HOO time to assemble so I tore apart my old desk and emptied a wall of shelves and got the space all ready to go and opened the box and realized that only about a third of the desk was there. When I dug down deep into Wayfair I found that there was another shipment en route. It did not arrive until Tuesday. It was the size of a casket. So prepare for TWO separate shipments arriving separately more than likely. The packaging seems to be quite excellent but the very top shelf (came in first shipment) was terribly damaged (picture attached). Returning would have been a nightmare so I notified Wayfair and they compensated me by returning 20% of the shipment's value (note it was not 20% of the whole desk, just 20% of half the desk because they also invoiced it as two separate items). In fact, even now they want me to review two separate items but it was really two separate packages, each of which is not a stand-alone part of the desk.

It's as pictured and very lightweight. Agreed with those who said instructions are inaccurate and some parts were incorrect. I'm going to ask for correct screws, so maybe that will help, but it is not sturdy-feeling when put assembled in the flat formation. If I gently move it, it shakes. This is a bit concerning as it is in a kid's room. However, it does look good and holds a lot.

L shape desk

If you want a nice looking desk then this would be it. If youre looking for quality, this isnt it. We had to cut the desk portion as it was too long and found it to be made of very poor quliaty. Taking it out of the box rubbed the edges of the paint and scuffed it. The shelf isnt sterdy at all. It wobbles a lot. The instructions arent very clear either. Somewhat challenging because it goes to the next step and doesnt list every screw number because it assumes you know it from the previous step

Great L Shape desk, don't recommend as straight

The instructions are not very clear but you should be able to figure out by the patterns and the holes that's pre-drilled. You can really use it straight since the desk is wider than the shelf. If you put it against the wall, the shelf will not be touching the wall making it unsafe. What they could do is instead of drilling the hole of the desk at the center, drill it towards the side so that the depth of it matches the depth of the shelf. Allowing it to be able to lay flat against the wall if you are to use it straight

I love this desk but I would ABSOLUTELY recommend that you have a professional put it together. It took hours and then I almost broke it because the table part goes on last but its the heaviest. The directions almost have you put it together backwards. Trying to stand it up and finish putting it together was a NIGHTMARE. Save your energy, hire someone. Otherwise, I love it. Its sleek, spacious and sturdy

Make sure you have help to put it together.

Make sure you have 2-3 people to help put it together. I was doing it alone and unless you can hold up the desk as you install it to the shelves, it will break.. Its not the best set up. hardware was cheap as 2 of the metal screw brackets snapped. I was able to get it set up finally. Over all it looks good and will serve its purpose for my son to use. I went with this due to having a similar design pieces for our book cases which I did purchase here.

Big, beautiful!

I accidentally ordered two of these, but wasn't able to cancel one of the orders in time. I had fully intended to return one of them, but after my fiance and I put one together I had to keep the second one! It's pretty much a two person job. The directions were good and it wasn't particularly difficult to put together. It's a huge, beautiful desk and shelf. We love them both! The stickers that they give you to cover the holes will not stay on at all, but I don't care.

Nice combo shelf/desk unit!

This is a great desk shelf combo. It was a little confusing to put together as the directions are definitely incorrect. It took me about 2 hours to totally assemble this unit by myself. The unit did have a weird smell. I noticed it right away, but after a few days the smell is almost completely gone. The shelf is not designed for extra heavy duty use. I would not stack this unit completely full of books, however it is perfectly adequate for what I needed it for. I would recommend that the bottom shelves be used for books or other heavier items. I would definitely consider buying another if I had a use for it.

Fantastic

I paid to have someone assemble it, but there was no issue with it. LOVE this desk, I got it for my teenage daughter. At first it looked too big, but then when she used her all her shelf space and got some white baskets for underneath - looked awesome and was so functional! It gave separation in her bedroom between her office space and her bed area. Best of both worlds

Fantastic Desk & Service

I got this desk for my daughter. She absolutely loves it. It is practical and beautiful. My son liked it so much I ordered another one for him! The lower levels of the shelf are suitable for lighter objects, not heavy items like a row of textbooks. The quality is very good for the price. It is not authentic hard wood but gives the look and feel of wood. This is obviously not heirloom furniture, but if you're looking for a 3-10 year solution this is perfect. Took about 1 hour to build. It was not difficult but I could see someone having difficulty who isn't able to focus on things like not over-tightening or who just wants to throw it together without thinking how parts connect. That said I am not particularly handy and had no problem. Easier than most Ikea items.

Great L-shaped desk

I do love my desk. The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because the assembly was not made easy by the poor cam locking dowels provided. They would not lock. I pride myself in by assembly abilities and love putting things together but this one cam with poor cam locks that made it quite challenging. The self is not as sturdy as I would like it due to the poor connections but I managed to wood glue it together some. I recommend the company looking into their cam lock suppliers or maybe this was just a poor batch but if I received them than I'm sure others did too. Otherwise, I do think this is very functional and space saving desk. I would buy it again but have my own cam locks for the assembly.

The quality is not good. I have to assemble it carefully like touching a paper that can be torn any time. Any unplanned or strong move can easily leave a damage to the parts. I only lifted one part up after assembling it with another part then the screw fell off immediately leaving a damaged hole/crack which cannot be used to connect with other parts any more. I leave a 3 stars because I love the style and the process of ordering replacement part is easy (but it will take 3 weeks for the replacement part to arrive). So if you’re in the middle of assembling and the part is cracked/damaged, you’ll have to wait 3 weeks for the replacement to continue assembling it. With the price, I would expect a better quality. If it’s not too much work to disassemble and put it back to the boxes (We were already more than half way in finishing it), I would have returned. If you still want to purchase this product, another tip is to assemble it from the bottom first. Don’t follow the assemble instruction! Once you get the idea of how you can do one level, it will be very easy to get the rest done quickly (but again, handle everything like you’re touching a paper as it is very easy to be craccked/damaged).

Honestly this desk has been fantastic. Do what the other reviews say and build it from the bottom up instead of the top down like the instructions say. Also yes, the screws are mislabeled in the instructions, but if you look at the images, you'll be able to figure out which screw they're referring to. I was able to put everything together by myself in about an hour and a half so y'all should be good. It gives lots of shelf space and is pretty rad.

I would not buy this product again, or anything from this company.

Adore the design, it fits the space I’d had in mind for it well. Feels a little flimsier than what I’d intended it to be used for but holds up alright. The real issues came during assembly. The included hardware wasn’t always cooperative and downright malfunctions in a few places (cam locks not locking) which nearly caused a catastrophic break that’ll need to be addressed with alternative securing methods on my end. Instructions leave plenty to be desired, skipping steps and progressing in odd ways that may put you at risk of breaking things (that flip upright was rough).

We bought the desk to use linear against a wall in a small room. The bookshelf doesn’t sit flat against the wall. It sticks out about 5 inches because the hole is directly in the Center of the desk. We had to move the hole to make it work. The desk is make of only cardboard and thin wood so not very sturdy. Also the locking screws that hold the shelves together would not tighten so the desk is a little loose. Not impressed for 600$.
