Just as We Imagined

This HOMCOM White Coat Rack and Bench Hall Tree Organizer with 4 Hooks, 2 Drawers with Padded Seat Cushions for Entryway now stands at its intended position located on our mud-room wall just as we imagined.

It took a while to put together, and some instructions were a bit hard, especially the part where you connect the top back portion to the seat area. The provided connecting poles were a bit too short, and it ended up causing part of the wood to be stripped. Otherwise, it looks pretty good.

Wife likes it

It does the job I wanted it to do and it sits nice and flat on my tile floor. Cushion is foam inside with a removable cover so you can wash it easily if needed. As I'm building it I questioned its weight rating but it holds my 235lb frame just fine when I'm sitting on it taking off my shoes. Feels sturdy enough but again, this isn't a sofa or dining room chair. If you have a difficult time assembling ** furniture then get some help because this is built exactly the same way with identical fixtures/hardware. There are clearly drawn pictures of how everything goes together, just pay attention to where a certain groove is or how the placement of the holes are laid out. I will say some details may be small on the pictures so someone who needs to wear glasses might need some extra light shining on the pages. However, everything is right there on the pages, just slow down and focus and you'll get it. It is very helpful to have a good size open floor area to build this on and to separate and stage all the pieces around you beforehand. Each one has a number sticker on it but again, each piece is shown as it is in the instructions. It took me an hour and a half to build it because I was also playing with my cats who insisted on "helping me". A small cordless screwdriver would be fine in helping you build, but I'd say a 4volt tool is the max. Anything more "powerful" will strip the particle board holes unless it has an adjustable clutch. Highly suggest having all 3 Philips bits/screwdrivers, P1-P2-P3. You'll use each numerous times. Hooks are attached with nuts/bolts so a very small wrench/nut driver to hold the nuts while tightening may be needed but I could hold them with my fingers while tightening. My only "caution" is this: the seat/bench is one unit and the back/top part is another unit. They are built separate and then you put them together. While this should be placed in your home and left there, IF you have to move it, do NOT lift by the back/top piece! Grab the BOTTOM with one hand to lift the weight with that hand, use your other hand to STABILIZE the Back/Top part of the hall tree as you move it. There are only 4 "posts" connecting the entire Back/Top piece to the bottom bench. Those posts are only screwed into the particle board about 1/2 inch. It is designed to hold it together NOT support its entire weight while lifting.

Coat Rack needs to be Sturdier!

It looks good in my mudroom, but I wish it was sturdier. I need to place hooks in the back to keep it from tilting over if I accidentally add to much weight in the front or move it.

A hassle to put together but all in all it fits great in my mudroom/laundry room. Took me about 2 hours. I would have also liked it to be a little taller

I bought this hall tree because my so called “builder” was supposed to add one in my new home as a built in. When he didn’t come through, I searched and found this one. I am so please and feel as though it is better than anything that could have been built.
