The Worst Bed.

Horrible, don’t buy this bed. This bed was made improperly, once you finish you will still have exposed screws hanging from the corners, the holes in the wood are either to small or to big or missing, I had to use the drill to make them and the wood it’s sharp all around the bed, if you have kids definitely don’t buy this for their safety. You can’t even open the drawers properly because there is no space between the drawer and wood. This is a 0/10, really bad experience.

My daughter likes to change her bed so the price of this was a huge consideration. We also like the storage underneath. It unfortunate that it is made 100% from particleboard. The edges don’t completely come together so you can see the particle board at every edge. We have the black one so it is very noticeable. The drawers don’t glide smoothly and have the tendency to get out of square. I wouldn’t buy it again because of the issues mentioned but it has held up well.

Overall, I like the bed although it is lower than the picture appears. The bigger issue was that two pieces arrive damaged. One was serious. I repaired them rather than go to the ridiculous point of repacking them and mailing them back. It wasn’t a high-end piece, but “undamaged” should come at any price point.

4/5 stars. This is a totally workable bed with lots of room for storage. It doesn't look as cheap as it costs. I used it for about a year before moving away and leaving this bed to the next tenant. The bed I bought next (a metal four-poster) was basically worse in every way and I miss this bed! I did wish I had a headboard, which isn't this bed's fault so I shan't deduct anything for that. But I also frequently and painfully hit my ankles on the corners which definitely means -1 star.

This bed is solid. it's sleek and functional. It's neutral so I can go in any direction decoration wise that I choose, and I can change things up. This also is a great storage bed - extra blankets and sheets are what I keep in them. But great for things not used very often. Highly recommend - very easy to put together.

Would give it zero stars if I could; would also recommend you buy from a whole different seller, as I cant imagine any of their products come with quality. Boards were chipped, no extra pieces were included but it was conveniently missing two screws. It wasn't predrilled in four areas that it should have been, and the sliders for the drawers didnt fit the other predrilled areas. I wouldn't accept a second one of these for free if they offered it to me. Hot garbage.

Bed is okay but is pretty poorly made, materials are cheap and already damaged upon delivery.

Top frame had the holes pre-drilled on the wrong side. I had to drill the correct ones.

I am waiting for customer service to answer. We order from Wayfair all the time and always love your products. This time we are so very upset and disappointed. We ordered a trundle bed and put it together and it was exactly like the picture and great quality. We have lots more to order for our new home, but we are so disappointed in our recent bed purchase. The picture shows it with a headboard and there is no headboard. We paid an expert to put it together but he showed us many of the screws didn’t fit in. The drawers don’t have any handles therefore making them impossible to use. Please let me know what we can do to rectify these issues so we can have a bed that looks great and is functional. Help please.

South Shore makes IKEA look like a luxury brand

I bought this in spite of all the bad reviews I saw everywhere because it was the only bed of this design that I could find that had drawers (with the exception of one or two that were way out of my price range). And yeah, as the headline says, South Shore makes IKEA look like a luxury brand. I knew the item was made of cheap particle board, but really, you couldn't even conceal the screws in the top? You couldn't even send me something that didn't already have a damaged edge? And yeah, at least IKEA's instructions are clear, and the assembly process is logical (flip the entire bed over to place screws AFTER it's assembled? Good look with that. We drilled 'em from below). On the plus side, having now assembled the whole bed from nothing but precut and (mostly) pre-drilled pieces of particle board, I have a model to make one from scratch out of better materials when this one breaks....which it looks like it could at any time.

Overpriced for the quality

Everything was fine until I got to the drawers and the top.

It's okay. I wanted something with extra storage that the cats couldn't hide under, and this checks those boxes. Very heavy. I assembled this alone, other than the final step, and it took a few hours. Definitely get someone to help if you can. My queen bed just covers the edges, meaning if your mattress has no slip-resistance on the bottom, it will shift around on top of the frame, even with heavy mattresses (mine's a Purple). I'm regularly nudging the mattress back to center on this bed. Because it shifts, if you swing your legs off the bed in the morning, you may hit your legs against that wooden ledge, which is unpleasant. The white wood chips easily, and it already has a few dings in it. Because of how heavy the frame is, it's hard to move around if you want to reorganize your space, especially on carpet. Overall good for the price, but I wouldn't buy it again.

I really like this bed for my son. The only downfall I have is that the platform pieces have come apart and I’ve had to pick up his mattress and push them back together. I am unsure if it is because my husband did not read the instructions and missed a bolt. Because while putting it together he put the pieces together upside down at first because he failed to read the instructions. So I would not be surprised if he missed a bolt.

I just got this bed frame today and the only thing I did not expect was how heavy it actually was. It says it takes two people to build this bed, but that is not the case at all. It takes either one really strong person to lift it or two average people, but it only takes one to build it. I built it alone and it was fine. It would have gone quicker with two people (it says 40 minutes on the instructions) but it took me an hour and a half by myself. But I don’t recommend anyone carrying it by themselves. Open the box and take the pieces out but don’t attempt to carry it all at once alone.

Assembly initially seemed overwhelming because there are a lot of parts, but if you follow the directions, putting this bed together is not so bad. There are a few steps that need to be inferred because the instructions are provided via images solely (no words) so that slowed us up a little. The most frustrating part was the last few steps, installing the trim. The screws provided were cheap drywall screws, which would not screw through the wood trim. We only found this out because we had to go to the local hardware store to buy the appropriate screws. Also, since you need to screw the screws into the trim from the bottom you're better off using a drill. Two people are required and total, the project took us about 2hrs. I still gave 4 stars because now that the bed is complete it is very sturdy and looks very nice in our room.

BAD. I MUST change my initial four-star rating. The wooden trim juts outward about four inches and the corners are very pointed. We're continuously barking our shins on this thing along the sides, and, worse, wounding ourselves on the very NASTY CORNERS so bad that the painful puncture wounds and abrasions BLEED. I also have come to see that poor quality materials were used to make this platform bed. Once assembled we cannot move them, or risk damaging the not-so-durable particle board. See the photos. Look, people, this bed has physically HURT US, repeatedly. That's not worth a small financial saving in my view. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

There should be more photos of this product to truly describe what it is. First, I assumed there were 2 drawers per side, but there are not. That is my mistake. However, the photo is deceptive for not showing any of the seams that are visible between individual parts on this bed, and there are a lot. I appreciate that each piece was labeled for assembly, however, assembly still took 2 adults over 4 hours to complete and there were a few missing screws, extra pieces, weird instances where some holes were predrilled, others not (you'll need a drill for these) and some where the holes did not align with where they should be. The drawer bottom does not sit flush with the adjacent empty panel, which looks weird. The drawer is also surprisingly small and had plenty of room to be larger than what was designed. I will live with this frame since it was super heavy and I am not shipping it back, but it's overall a disappointment.

Buyer beware, but enjoy at your own risk.

This bed is easy to put together. The directions are really simple to follow. I guess we better hold on to them should we ever move! A power driver or drill are not recommended to assemble the bed, but we used one on the most gentle setting and it went together fine without damaging any boards! One of our foundation boards were damaged when shipped. I was hoping the mattress would hide the damage, but it does not. The damage was too close to the edge.

arrived in a timely manner, but box was damaged. Fortunately, the product was not, however, the top was obviously made with less heart and dedication, as none of the holes lined up, and we had to drill our own. So far the frame is holding up, but compared to our history with OS, this one fell short of the usual satisfaction, but because of the way it comes delivered in pieces, you cannot ship it back, and you do not realize there is an issue until you are deep in assembling parts. Hopefully it will hold up and the extra drilling that was required will not compromise the integrity of the frame. At least you cannot see the holes under the mattress, but my son was so disappointed as this was a big purchase in a new place for him. We will probably continue to look at OS products, but not from this company and probably not similar products.

Assembly was fairly easy. A couple of the pieces were slightly damaged on the edge, but the damage wasn't visible after it was all put together. The queen mattress doesn't fill the entire platform, so the unfinished particle board is showing around the edges. I would suggest making the finished portions wider to cover that possibility. The description stating you can use the underneath for seasonal storage is a bit misleading. I thought the bed maybe had some sort of hinge system, but essentially you would have to take the mattress off to lift the platform up to access the space. With that said, we will keep the bed and are generally satisfied.
