Microwave egg cooker

Perfectly cooked eggs every time. Great for recipes %26 single folks. Absolutely no supervision required. Down side - parts are hot to handle %26 it’s difficult to remove all the eggshells. Also water compartment is hard to get dry.

Microwave hard boiled egg and sheller.

Doesn't cook eggs like it said it would. once I added more time and got them to hard boiled. I followed directions for peeling, but when I opened it, it was a huge mess with cracked egg shells everuwhere! Also, some shell that didn't detach - so when I tried to peel it, it tore the egg to shreds. I was really excited about this thing, so count me as super disappointed!

I followed the instructions and cooked the eggs for 9 minutes. 3 eggs exploded. I tried it again, 1 egg exploded. I removed the egg and followed the rest of the instructions for cooling and shaking the eggs. I opened the container to a mess of yellow water and eggs. I returned the item.

Good idea but needs some work

This was a great concept. However, I could not get it to work correctly. After a few minutes of it being in the microwave the top blew off and egg exploded everywhere. So I thought I was doing something wrong so my husband tried it and the same thing happened to him.

Egg Pod

Had one for a couple of years. It was great for the most part. Did have one time when it made a mess in the microwave but it was because I didn’t secure metal basket inside and fasten the top properly. Also, is quite necessary to add correct amount of water. The trick for cleaning inner metal part is to take it apart while the plastic is still more flexible after cooking. Once you get the hang of it, the pod does a great job. We recently moved and the pod seems to have been misplaced so hoping to get another one at Home Depot.

This is not a good product

This has to be the worst thing I’ve ever bought. There are more steps to it then advertised. Nothing worked as promised. I was so disappointed because I love boiled eggs, deviled eggs, and egg salad. The unit broke the first time I used it and like I said it’s not as easy as it looks on tv. There are other steps you have to do so you should just boil the eggs the old fashioned way.

Works well as advertised. I have used it now at...

Works well as advertised. I have used it now at least five times and the hard boiled eggs come out fine each time. I live in an area of the Country that has the drought to contend with so I do not, per the instructions, rinse after cooking in the microwave for two minutes instead I let hem sit in cold water for at least fifteen minutes. Peeling the eggs after cooking them is indeed easier than the conventional way of cooking which frankly is worth the price of the product. I only would like to see the maximum quantity of eggs set from four, as it is now, to at least six at a time. I have to say that for a product made in China, where the production quality, as we all know is poor at best; this iproduct, is better than most. I would recommend it if you enjoy delicious hard boiled eggs in the morning for breakfast as I do..Bon Appetit!

Exceeded expectations - perfect boiled eggs!!!

I fully expected to use it once, then put it in a cupboard, never to be seen again (like many other "as seen on tv" things we've bought... there's one my husband swore he'd use all the time - makes like an egg sandwich on a toasted muffin. used once. put in back of cupboard. never used again, although when I say "can I sell this?" - oh no, I might use it again one day. He bought it FOUR years ago). I think this is the ONLY product that we use at least twice a week - it is FANTASTIC. A friend came to visit recently (on a diet), wanted boiled eggs for lunch but wanted them done just so, hard boiled but with the yolk a TINY bit soft.... so I showed her how easy it was- put the water in using the little measuring cup, put the eggs in, set microwave to 8 minutes.... then leave for 2 minutes, fill with cold water and shake shake shake.... the shells were all cracked and just slid off - showing PERFECTLY done boiled eggs, with the center just a tiny bit soft, just like she wanted. She couldn't believe how easy it was. We LOVE our Egg Pod. We use boiled eggs in salads all the time, and just got fed up with the real method, boiling in a saucepan. This has really changed our attitude - no longer is it a real pain to make a boiled egg, it's just so easy. we LOVE it.

Wonderful little device...Worked perfectly!

Unfortunately I have fallen for a lot of gimmicks in the past and when I received them they were nothing like promised. This little Egg Pod is WONDERFUL! Made some hard boiled eggs the first time and the shells came off just as promised. So easy to use and so easy to clean up. This morning I put 2 extra large eggs in it with the required water and put in the microwave for 5 minutes. I let it sit there for another 1 minute and brought to the sink to open. I ran the cold water over the eggs and than I closed again and shook but not really hard. I came out with 2 of the most perfectly soft boiled eggs I've ever made...Great Product would highly recommend. Plan on using for all boiled eggs.

Problem Solver

I bought an Egg Pod for a Christmas gift for my wife. She has a small flock of laying hens and we've had no luck hard boiling fresh eggs and peeling the shell without losing much of the egg. We previously tried every method on the internet to hard boil fresh eggs without success, and I was hoping it would work. This product does the job - four perfect hard boiled fresh eggs that peel easily and cleanly. As for the reviews where the eggs and Egg Pod exploded, i suspect the yellow O-ring was incorrectly seated when the lid was installed, which allowed the water to boil off. The result then is no different than putting four bare eggs in the microwave for nine minutes. We noticed that proper lid and O-ring alignment is not easily achieved when installing the lid, so we use care when re-assembling the Egg Pod after cleaning and double check the O-ring alignment before microwaving. Too bad it only does four eggs at a time.

Dangerous Product

Is there a rating lower than 1 star? This item is DANGEROUS! Received yesterday, following instructions precisely, used first time this morning. Cleaned device, added water, locked lid and placed Pod in microwave, following instructions, "9 minutes at highest setting". When microwave time read "5:32", there was an explosion. A circuit was blown, the microwave door blew open, and I have shells and pieces of egg throughout most of the house. The microwave is ruined and the resulting mess is incredible. Thank God there was no one standing near the front of the microwave. This product is dangerous and should be taken off the market.

Confused, and disappointed!

The instructions required you cook, for 9 minutes. The eggs were not fully hardened. I added 1 minute, and left it, in the microwave, for the extra time, as instructed the next time I used the pod, and much, to my dismay, the pod had failed! The bottom melted, in one spot, and it could not be lifted, off the glass tray! I was able, to remove the pod, once it cooled? I do not have a commercial microwave! The water had leaked out! I have no idea, at what point that happened. I put the pod, in another bowl, and ran the cold water. The eggs were perfect. The pod is no longer useable! It appears the pod was not able, to withstand the heat, on the glass tray, of the microwave. I definitely did not cook the eggs past 10 minutes. I am, at a loss, to explain what happened.

Destroyed Microwave

Received this product as a Christmas gift and thought I would give it a try. The instructions were straight forward, 9 minutes in a microwave, 2 min cool down before removing, 2 min ice or cold water bath in sink, then a shake and magic eggs no peel required! Uh no! GE Profile Microwave Model# JVM6175EK1ES, three years old. This product blew up my microwave. I literally am waiting for an exact replacement to arrive. The eggs were mostly cooked and only one exploded, but I still had to peel the eggs upon completion. Please pick another product for this service. I feel lucky it didn't burn down the house.

Not bad.....

The Egg Pod makes eggs as advertised. The only thing that you must do is adjust the time to your microwave. The instructions say to cook for 9 minutes. I have a 1200 watt oven, so 7 minutes was more than enough to use them in a salad. I have yet to adjust the time for soft boiled eggs, since I eat them like that also. . The reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the inserts inside. They need to be removed to wash them, but are extremely difficult to remove. I need to use a knife to pry out the bottom one, but very carefully so not to damage the rubber seal. As for the top one, it had to be turned counter clockwise to remove, and then clockwise to lock in place. I had to use a knife to try remove it the first time, with very minimal damage. But I was unable to lock it back in place. . Therefore, I now cook my eggs without it being locked in. So, sometimes it's off when I remove the cover after cooking, and once in a while it's still in place. Because of that, it doesn't peel the eggs as well as it did the first time, because it's needed to be locked in so the shells will hit against it.

Don't risk over heating/breaking your microwave!

Don't risk over heating and breaking your microwave! I place the Egg Pod in my microwave for 9 minutes, as per the instructions. The cook time completed then a few seconds later and the auto shutoff turned off the microwave. The display went blank and none of the buttons worked. The insides of the oven was very hot to the touch and I thought the Egg Pod had destroyed the GE microwave. Luckily, the display returned after about 15 minutes. The long cook time AND the two metal parts in the Egg Pod probably reflect significant amounts of radio frequency waves generated back to the walls and parts in the oven causing it to over heat. To get boiled eggs to peel easily, I'm going to try adding 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the boiling water. Sounds a lot less expensive than buying a new a new microwave.

IT WORKS! I can make deviled eggs!

OK y'all... I am almost 70 years old. Since I was married at 18 I tried every month or so to boil eggs. Every time I was just frustrated with shells that stick and mangle the egg inside. I saw the EggPod tv ad and got in my car and drove to Walmart, bought it, brought it home and could not wait to try it. I fully expected another failure.
