Excellent bookcase design and construction

Excellent bookcase at a good price. Well done! These are the best designed, and easily build bookcases on the market. I have a number of the exact type which make up my library of over 300 individual collected Bibles and hunderds of other Christian books, commentaries, sets of documents and individual works that total nearly 1200 titles. Sauder 5 shelf units are well recommended! May God bless you as you read His Word and follow Him.

Not impressed. Assembly made more difficult because hardware is not identified. Some parts have no labels which make it hard to match with instructions. I knew this would be an inexpensive product but did not expect it to be so cheaply constructed. I bought this because I needed something quick. I would have been better off shopping facebook marketplace. I will not be purchasing any unassembled items from Target in the future.

Terrible to build

I have built all the furniture in my house. This is the worst thing I have ever built. You have to prop up the bookcase on books as you build it and it makes it unstable and hard to keep together. When you lift it in an upright position it comes apart due to the flimsy parts that keep the top and bottom together. Trying to move it into place it also comes apart, even though it was correctly put together and the parts were tight. The bookshelf parts that keep it together are bad quality. Would be afraid to ever try to move it because it will come apart. Not worth the price.

Well now I gotta buy another one!

Of course this isn't an oak bookshelf, it's an "oak" bookshelf, but if you're not looking for Fine Woodworking level furniture, this one does the trick.

Engineered Very Nicely

We ordered two of these handsome bookcases. They were very carefully packaged with reinforced cardboard bumpers, styrofoam & paper lining & delivered on time. All the parts were present. Each bookcase was very heavy, about 70 lbs. each, so my husband & son assembled them upstairs before placing them in a room. The instructions were clear & assembly easy. The stickers were easy to peel off without damaging the finish. The laminates were done very nicely in the oiled-oak finish. Only a couple of very minor annoyances: the middle fixed shelf isn't quite plum for each bookcase & the wall anchor strap had to be positioned in a way that it doesn't show on the wall. The former is hardly noticeable while in the latter, we were able to hide the straps without compromising the safety integrity.
