My primary reason for purchasing this particular fan was the bluetooth remote. Which.. does indeed work well. I only had one circuit feeding my old fan, but wanted to be able to control the light/fan independently, and be able to dim the light. However the fan is another story. The quality is lacking. In my unit, the squirrel cage fan blade itself was so wobbly it was rubbing into the electrical supply wires that ran adjacent to it. I was installing this on a Saturday and by the time I noticed this, already had a giant hole in my ceiling. I was able to rig it up with some zipties to pull the wire away, but the fact this left the factory this way gives me concerns about the quality control. Overall the cheap build quality existed on every piece of this. I typically use Panasonic fans which just feel more sturdy, have an easier install, and overall obviously have a higher build quality. The fan itself is kinda noisy. Way better than the builder grade Broan that it replaced, but much louder than Panasonics at comparable CFM. The colored light is cheesy and not of interest to me, though it does work fine I suppose.. other than to note the light effect is sorta like a black light. Everything it shines on reflects in an odd way that just looks weird. My kids love that part tho.. Overall I wish I could just buy the bluetooth control module and add it to a better fan. At $100 this would be an OK ( not great) deal.. More than that is a ripoff.

Like the overall design, but, less than a year in and sections of the LED strip are starting to burn out. Looked really clean before, but now it looks janky, kinda disappointed that its not really built to last considering there are much cheaper fans out there. It's not easy to install one of these things, so I was hoping for something to last longer. The lighting system felt pretty cheap on install, and this now clearly shows. The cable from the housing to the lightstrip is barely long enough. There is zero extra length, no room for error. You have to stretch it to the max, and the cheap build makes it feel like you might break it just trying to install the cover. Also, the app is a joke, its super beta feeling and only kind of works. Specifically the timer in the app doesn't work. Everything is connected fine but the thing just doesn't turn off when the timer on the app expires.
Soothing
I like the color options. They are soothing. The fan is very quiet too.

I like the light feature, the fan is still a bit loud for my liking, a bit larger than your traditional ceiling fan. My only disappointment was that I thought the fan had Bluetooth meaning it has speakers, after installing it and attempting to pair my phone I realized it was ONLY Bluetooth Technology to control the light and fan. I would return it but I went through all the work to cut and fit it its honestly easier to keep it but the product description was a bit misleading.

I bought this for my kids bathroom and they love having this light in there. They change the color every night before they go to bed. As for the installation, it's pretty typical for a bathroom fan (except for the switch). This is bigger than older bathroom fans, so if doing a replacement be prepared to cut some drywall. As for the switch, I was dreading having to run a 14/3 through the wall to the fan. However, the battery powered switch that this comes with was a great idea! Just wire up the fan directly bypassing the switch altogether and the switch (which goes into a standard outlet box, so you'd never know it wasn't wired in) gives you full control over what's turned on.

I can't speak to ease of install as my contractor did it but I have an old house that did not have a fan before. It can work via a bluetooth remote which is installed in the wall like a regular switch but no need to run wires to the wall switch which saved me a lot of trouble and expense. And, it looks really cool! Note, in video I am scrolling thru the colors quickly.

Starting with installation, it is a home improvement project that may not be for you if you're uncomfortable with cutting the ceiling drywall or wiring the electrical parts. In that case, please rely on professionals since this is naturally not a plug-n-play affair. Anyway, our old fan was significantly smaller (about 2 inches) and the wiring was a bit "adventurous" to say the least. The size is ideal since now cutting a bigger hole allowed for easy removal of the old fan from the inside of the room. That is also one of the installation options of the Broan ChromaComfort when you bend the wings as described in the manual. Even experienced DIYers should really rely on the manual for the correct steps as the fan needs to be taken apart to make installation as easy as possible, and it's a lot easier when following the instructions. Traditional bathroom fans are controlled with a switch in the wall to provide power. This fan requires power to be provided constantly by removing the switch and "permanent" power up to the fan. There is still a wall switch but that one is 100% wireless and even requires two AAA batteries to function for about 2 years with normal use (as rated). Once the fan is installed and wired, it's ready to be paired. Since you have to interrupt the fuse, keep in mind that you have three minutes from restoring power to pair the switch with the fan. The pairing is easy by pressing the light button for a few seconds, but only as long as the fan is in pairing mode. The wall switch comes with an included single cover but fits also typical Dekorators covers in case you have more than one switch ganged next to each other. In our case, the fan switch is accompanied by a separate switch for the vanity light. That used already a timer switch with a relatively wide base and the aluminum wings had to be removed to fit the also wide-bodied switch for the fan in the standard spacing. With everything installed, wired, and paired, the first test was the fan as that's the main purpose of sorts. The "old" fan was loud even if not super old but very noisy. We have another Broan super quiet fan in another bathroom ad I guess that's what I was hoping for. Well, it turns out it's somewhere in between the old noisy one and the other super quiet one. The noise doesn't come from the airflow itself as much as it comes from the fan. Not bad, but not great either. (The fan speed is not adjustable.) The next feature to explore was the light, and that pretty much sold the whole family. The top button gives direct access to the white light while the middle button allows cycling through the different colors and associated modes. there is a shared rocker between both light buttons to adjust brightness for the active mode. Note that holding the buttons does not continuously increase or decrease the brightness but you have to tap for every step. The lights are dimmable the white light brightness independent from the color light which allows for one to be the normal light and the other to set an ambiance or a nightlight option. Even the lowest level is still brighter than the typical night light but that may be a good thing for nightly trips to the bathroom. Another way to control the fan, and mostly the light, is by the smartphone app. It exclusively talks to the fan (and not the wall switch) to control directly or even program custom colors. As long as you're within reach of the Bluetooth signal you can use the phone, but the nice part is that it's optional. Some smart devices seem to forget that. The app also allows setting a timer for the fan or light to turn off. However, if you're hoping that it's a way to program the fan to always use a timer (i.e., to turn the fan off after 15 minutes even when using the wall switch), you'll be disappointed. The timer "lives" on the phone and only works when connected to the fan and when turning a certain function using the app (not the wall switch. The problem with that is that if you leave the room thinking the fan is on a timer, as soon as your phone loses connection the timer stops existing and the fan keeps running. Overall, this is a great fan although what makes it great is the light as the air mover is rather average in power and noise. The wall switch is well designed and functional, the described limitations of the app (or the fan) with respect tor timers, etc. is a bit of a disappointment and seem more like an oversight than intentional. That and the noise motivated me to deduct a star. Neither may bother you and it is still a great device, but not as good as it could have been. (Maybe there is a firmware update of sorts in the future.)

Very nice! The only drawback that Ive found (and it can be a big one) is that it can be an issue controlling the lights if this is for a retrofit. You MUST use the wall switch unit that comes with this unit as it has the controls to turn on white light, color leds, fan and adjust intensity. The way its wired in my home now is the traditional wall switch is left on at all times and we use the Brian provided switch to turn on/off fan/lights. Eventually Ill mount the Broan switch on wall, but it can be an unexpected surprise for some who are used to using traditional wall switch wiring to control. It would be nice if Broan would have provided a way to accommodate traditional wiring, thus 4 stars.

This fan was very easy to install. I followed the instructions and had it up and running in just under 25 minutes. The fan definitely moves the air in my bathroom and is surprisingly quiet. The color options are really cool and offer softer or stronger dimmable options vs my harsh can lights. My wife enjoys having a range light options in the morning when she has recently woken up. The app is very user friendly and easy to connect. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a ventilation fan.

For as classy as the light up feature on this fan looks in my newly, remodeled bathroom, what really got me excited was and how user friendly the Bluetooth app was. Tons of different color combinations help make my bathroom appear as one of the coolest rooms in my house (I know that sounds odd, but its true). Super easy to install and don't need an attic, unlike other models.

Super excited to install. Had to own up existing fan hole in ceiling - no big deal... Light is great, nice features... However, fan is farrrrr from 1.5 sones. Sounds like a whirl wind. I feel slated, but it does work correctly though.
