Assembly was brutal

This is getting 2 stars because the product itself is ok. But man - I have never struggled with assembly for something kid related like this. This should be relatively simple as it is just a puzzle piece - but it took a hammer and a lot of elbow strength to make this frame. If I had to go back - I would not have bothered purchasing this one if I knew how outright crumby manufacturing of this thing was.

Strage strap width

The strap width on this bed rail is around 36". A standard toddler cot is 30" and a twin mattress is 38". These straps are just a couple inches shy of fitting around a twin bed. Very strange to me why they didn't just make the straps just a little longer. I should have paid more attention to the previous reviews. Now I have to find some spare straps and modify this to get it to fit around a twin bed.

I believe this was actually made to fit a crib bed so putting in on my twin bed made it a bit difficult to push in the tabs to have it stay upright and to pull them back out to swing down the rail. It would be great it there was one made specifically for a twin. The purpose of this purchase was to keep me from falling out of bed which has happened more than once. So the purpose has been served. Worth the purchase.

Easy to assemble

I like the Swing Down Convertible Bed Rail because it has made my toddler feel more secure sleeping in his own bed. I was able to assemble it with no problem in about five minutes. The bars all popped into place and the meshing slipped on good. Lastly it fit snug on the bed locking securely into place. You can click the rail so that it can go down for baby to get out.

Disappointed

Extremely disappointed. I don’t believe I’ve ever written a product review, which should tell how disappointed I am. Within 1 month of installing the rail guard, the fabric was ripping. Now, two month later, it is completely torn top to bottom. Not worth what we paid if it doesn’t last more than 2 months.

Does not work for non-crib daybed.

I was trying to use this on a daybed. It is not a daybed converted from a crib...therefore the construction dies not work as intended. The instructions were horrible. I have a ten inch foam mattress that fits on wooden slats with no box springs or foundation. It does not work with this situation and is not very tall, either. It will not swing down for me, either. Disappointed.

Decent only option

Only option that exists if you don’t have a crib that is designed for the wooden bed rails. Was not confident with the design itself. Designed for specific cribs that I don’t have. I think it would work ideally with a crib that has the spring frame level with the frame of the bed. Ours the spring base sits a bit lower then the frame so the rail leans in. Zip tied the rail to the spring frame for security. Definitely wasn’t happy with this during set up but seems to be working well. Just could use some updates to design.

Seems fine so far

Installed just fine and seems sturdy. We are starting our younger daughter in a small bed. We had a larger bed rail from our first daughter that didn't fit this small bed. The ability for the rail to 'open' up and down might be helpful too.

It works

Got this to put on my daughter's crib after taking the front off of it. The picture shows the rail in between two crib mattresses. We only had one for her bed (why would you have 2?) so the rail bars sit directly on the metal part that the mattress rests on. It does keep her from rolling out of bed, but it doesn't fit all that well. And the swing-down mechanism doesn't work with the way we have it set up, either. If you happen to have 2 crib mattresses, it should work great, otherwise use at your own risk.
