It does cool the 600 Sq.Ft area as promised. It is not that amazingly quiet as stated by others, other than the lowest fan speed which is really quiet. The window adapter works well and fits even larger windows. However, the feel of the hardware is very lightweight so plan on reenforcing it if your goal is more long-term installation. Outside noise comes through strong, it feels like having the window open. Also, be prepared to protect the vent and the adapter edges from rain. the air duct and the adapter seem to work best if the duct comes out straight from the unit to the window. If you'd like to turn the AC -say 45 degrees- from the window, the duct starts to bend the lightweight adapter, and some parts may want to snap off.

Fantastic, efficient, strong & super quiet but I'm dinging it a smidge because this monster is heavy and far from "portable"

First time Whynter customer

Never owned a portable unit. This unit fit my budget, Sq Ft specifications and was one of the few dual exhaust units.

BEST FOR COOLING ONLY

The unit cools well so I purchased a second unit for the basement area. The problem I had is in the dehumidify mode it adds cold air to the room if you vent it outside which is no good for Fall and Spring months. Wish I knew that one IMPORTANT fact before I purchased it.

Cools Well

I liked the ease of installation and the fact I can remotely control this unit. It cools off my porch during the hot, humid days after I purchased it. I've only had this for less than a month so I can't testify to the reliability of it but so far so good.

Whynter ARC-1230WN 14000 BTU

Love it. It cooled down our space in 1 hour. We were able to purchase on sale and was worth it. I think installation was easy if you follow the directions. The double hose style enclosed in one unit is much easier on the eyes. I like that the energy efficiency is so much better with the inverter style.

Powerful, Portable and Pure Joy to Look at.

I recently replaced my bulky, expensive window unit with this product for my living room, and it’s fantastic. It works well, blends in like furniture, and makes the room look bigger and cleaner by not blocking the window.

Best portable a/c Hopefully it will last. Bought a Toshiba from you and lasted only two summers. Never buy one again. This one is great. You should sell this one in your stores. A little pricey but worth it.

[Rewarded Review] My new portable Whynter Air Conditioner with heat

I purchased this unit at Best Buy to heat my small sunroom that has no heat or air. We installed it this past weekend and it is doing a great job keeping the room cool during these hot summer days. I am looking forward to seeing how well it heats the room on cool days. It was easy to set up, and it is quiet. We are very satisfied with our purchase.

Finally found the one!

Trust me when I say I’ve tried a lot of ACs, including the trendy window units people seem to love. This is the first unit that has kept my top floor corner unit cool. It’s quiet and not totally ugly either. Love being able to control it from my phone. With two cats in the home it’s nice to know I can always turn it on for them from anywhere if the temperature spikes while I’m away. It’s been 2 months and I’m happy with this one!

Shipping was great. Fairly easy to setup.

Ordered 2 at the same time, one of them sounded like the wood shop when running. Ordered a third one and returned the faulty one when replacement arrived. As soon as the third one was put in use, the second one started shutting off randomly. Cycled through the fan speeds and heat/A/C/ fan options and turned it back on. Been working ok, but has randomly shut off .

I am really impressed. The unit is very quiet (better than it said in Consumer Reports) and is efficient. The only drawback will be when it has to be drained. The drain is in an awkward location.

Superb Cooling

Cools room very quickly & even can cool the hallway outside. Only real downside is the tube mount was too wide and needed to have some minor modifications and adjustments as it hit the side of my wall & if your window has mesh the adapter that separates the channels will poke through it. Overall minor gripes on a solid product.

Really puts out a large volume of cold air

This is a pretty amazing AC unit. The hook up to the window was so simple and the amount of cold air is fantastic. We love the installed concealed wheels to move from its storage spot to the window for AC. We bought this to run off our generator during power outages.

Unit is running perfectly and keeping our 17x30 more comfortable than the last two units we had. With the kitchen ceiling fan running in reverse it also helps cool another smaller room as well!

Hooking up the awkward hose & with such flimsy framework for that large hose to fit into, plus the small plastic clips that hold it into place was bound to fail, which it did in less than 24 hours. With it blowing out hot air the 2 piece plastic frame and the plastic clips get to warm and fail causing the frame separation & the clips to fail. It seemed like the actual unit worked well for the short period I wss able to use it. The bottom clips are still holding and even plugging the big air space at the top part of the hose with the foam provided I'm afraid to use it and leave the room in fear that the bottom clips will fail letting the hose fall out of the frame blowing all that extra hot air into my bedroom! Will.now have to return it when I can find help to do that as a family member that lives a long distance away set it up for me. Very disappointed!!

Received used air conditioner

I’m very disappointed. I received a used unit. This is Pricey unit to be already used when I receive it.There’s cracks and dents in the hose. There’s sticky tape all over the window piece. The box was very damaged in shipping. I’m not sure how good the unit is but right now it’s in bad shape.

Ahhh. Just what we needed.

Purchased for temporary use in place of central unit that died. Quickly Cooled 600sq'+- very well. Quieter than an older unit. Floor vibration not unexpected, reduced by setting wheels on rubber matt. The pup is cool. He gives it 2 🐾 up.
