Great Desk!

The desk, once put together, is a beautiful desk. The construction of it went well. It is a solid and sturdy desk. I did find, however, find a very small nick on the top. Sauder showed that they offer GREAT customer service. I was offered a new top or the option of a touch up pen. I opted for the touch up pen as the nick was quite small, but still a nick. I received it promptly and the pen worked really well. It matched the desktop perfectly. I appreciate great customer service. I highly recommend this desk.

Great Looking Desk

This desk is built well and looks great. I'm very happy I bought it and recommend it. One thing though is it needs to be assembled and it is not for beginners. It comes in two very heavy boxes and a couple of hundred pieces, so I recommend a large clear area to work in and to have patience. It is well worth it once its assembled.

Great desk

This desk looks great when it's together and is a heavy, solid piece. I love the look and it has plenty of storage and space on top for multiple monitors, laptop, etc. However, the time it took to put it together was insane!! The directions they provided were very detailed and easy to follow, but like another reviewer mentioned, took a solid 8-9 hours of assembly. I recommend this as long as you have the patience and attention to detail because if you mess one piece up it'll throw off the whole thing and would not be easy to fix after the fact.

Good product for home use.

Fit and finish of the product are good for non solid wood product (mostly particle board and mfd). Small imperfections were seen in top (nicks) from factory as shipping container was not damaged. (we decided to keep it anyway). Will be used as a home/office desk. Would be good in an enviroment that is not hard or aggressive. Assembly instructions were excellent, very detailed, the best I have ever used. (must read everything and pay close attention to details). Time to assemble was about 12 hours. (I am very detailed and careful). Very heavy (about 240 lbs) and large.Would have given 5 stars if not damaged and a little easier to assemble.

This is a really heavy duty nice looking strong desk

The shipping was horrible. I received the tracking . Company picked it and 2weeks later no updates on tracking and it was suppose to be deliver that day. I had to find a number to call. And the company had to go looking for it. There was a snow storm but no updates.

Looks good bit functionality is lacking

It is my second desk as the first the holes were drilled off square! Took 10 hours to bulid. Second desk had minor scratches but I paid a pro to build this time. The drawers rubb against each other when opening and closing. There is a noticeable gap on the sides of the drawers and the frame of the desk. It will have to do because I don't want to deal with the issues any longer. Overall disappointing as the desk was expensive.

Fantastic white desk

Overall fantastic. 2 flaws I fixed. Top 2 side drawers could not close so drilled holes quarter inch deeper inside. Also front left space in panel caulked white space but first put tape on inside so caulk holds. No other defects. I worked over 2 days- main desk then the drawers. Excellent instructions read carefully. Photos of all screws.

Great Quality and Easy to Follow Instructions

We purchased a stand-alone desk, corner desk, and a 3 drawer unit. The packing was very organized and ALL the pieces were in it. We are very impressed with the quality and workmanship. We had two issues that Sauder support quickly resolved. The first was that I damaged a drawer rail and they shipped one out immediately to replace it. The seconds was that the shipping company damaged one of the boxes which scratched the desktop. Support sent a furniture marker pen which worked perfectly to cover the scratches. I would definitely recommend Sauder Furniture Company based on my experience!

Good Quality when received without damage

I had this desk and loved it. When we moved the new homeowners loved it so much we decided to sell it to them and buy a new one at our new home. Thats when things went terribly wrong with Sauder. Our first desk was shipped by LTL and came perfectly fine without no damage (two heavy boxes are shipped to complete this order) and both boxes were delivered together, not separately. After moving into our new home I ordered this same desk three (3) different times and each time one of the two boxes always came damaged so much so it could not even be put together. Sauder changed who they used for shipping because Sauder changed who they used for shipping. Those three damaged desks were shipped by UPS and FedEx. I would love to buy the same desk again but the shipping experience I had on three separate occasions with Sauder has kept me from buying this desk again. If I could be assured from Sauder they would be using an LTL for shipping and not UPS or FedEx and both boxes would be delivered together I would buy this desk again. As it stands we have been in our new home for 9 months and still do not have our home office setup because we need a desk.

Good desk for the money.

It comes in a million pieces (I'm exaggerating, obviously), but it's worth the assembly work.

Nice desk. . . but

I use this desk in my home office, it fits all my needs. It looks nice and has plenty desktop space and storage. There are a few things to consider when purchasing - your ability to assembly, the space needed to assemble, and the overall weight. It was packaged well, I had no damage, but the overall box is hundreds of pounds - be prepared. I moved the pieces a few at a time to the assembly area, moving the entire box was not an option for me. I have assembled numerous items in my lifetime using similar hardware - but there are a couple hundred screws that have to be used - and you need a large open area for the assembly process. It took me 8 hours with small breaks on and off! A second person to help from time to time is very beneficial! The reason for the 4 stars is that numerous pieces are not labelled - most have a letter stamped, engraved or stickered - but not all! And overall the instructions are good, but not great. There were a few critical steps that should have used a few more drawings, and more text to clarify what was required. Also - they should have included a touch up pen as well - with this many pieces and all this hardware, there is bound to be a touch-up needed here or there. Overall I'm pretty happy now that it's down - but I don't think I would want to assemble another one!

I would buy this product again

I am using this desk as part of my home office. I read the reviews before buying this and I knew, with a 46 page instruction book , this was going to take a while to build. The vintage oak finish is perfect and it looks just like ir was real oak. I built this over three days, by myself, and it took 18 hours. Every instruction was very clear, and the pieces were precisely marked and predrilled. I am not sure how to properly adjust the drawers to slide easier, but they all work. It was a tedious process, but worth the effort. I highly recommend this product. I had no damaged parts and all parts were there.

Excellent Product

Fit & finish very good. A couple of fitment issues. Excellent assembly instructions. Only one instance of parts shortage. Specifics: Fitment: The alignment of mouldings (M26) was off ~? from Plinths (CC)/Half Discs (VV). Instructions: Page 17, Step 8, Bullet 2 should read Fasten four mouldings Page 31, Step 22, Bullet 1 note that access to the Twist-Locks are blocked by MM for a standard or stubby Phillips screwdriver, had to use a socket Phillips adapter to access. Parts Shortage: Received only three of the four rubber sleeves (2R). Would recommend designing the Door (L), Adjustable Shelf (M), etc to fit to either side of desk. My requirements need the cabling to enter the desk from the right hand side and additional holes will have to be drilled to accomplish this. Overall very pleased with product.

Product build long and came out unbalanced

I bought the matching lateral file cabinet also and could put that together successfully by myself in about 4 hours. I read in the reviews that the desk would take longer and my husband and I decided to tackle it. I felt it was a little easier because it was very similar to the instructions for the file cabinet. We went slow, step-by-step, and when we put it in the drawers at the end, they did not fit. It took 7 hrs, and now we dread having to take the entire desk apart and start over. So disappointed this is taken so long and so much effort. I have been working on my old desk in the living room during this whole process making my work-from-home situation very difficult. I was really hoping to begin using the desk. We are going to completely take it apart and start from scratch. If we can get the drawers in this time, I will update my review and rating.

Don't Buy!

I loved the look of this desk but there was a proven manufacturing issue with the desk I got. One side of the desk aligned perfectly yet the other side not so much. You could clearly see where there was an issue with parts received. I took pictures and sent it Sauder. They agreed with the issue but instructed me to take it apart and put it back together just in case. I did and yet received the same outcome as anticipated. They responded with the same manner- take it apart, put it back together again, and send pictures. Given this is insanely time consuming, I pulled in pro contractor to do it and received the same result!! Despite doing so and sending pics of proof (again), Sauder still refused to fix the issue. The customer service continued to respond with how to videos, ""you need to take it apart"", ""you need to make your own adjustments"", and ""our furniture doesn't have a high tolerance"". A $700+ desk doesn't have high tolerance and requires your own adjustments outside of what is provided and instructed in the manual. Save yourself the headache and time with this.

Love Our New Saunder Palladia 66" W Executive Desk

Purchase, delivery & assemble were great, what a lovely, functional desk for such a reasonable price. This desk has it all, hidden secrest compartment, 6 drawers- 4 regular drawers of which 2 were deep plus 2 file drawers, drop down keyboard, convenient and hidden wire access, and our son in law assembled the desk in 6 hours and 5 minutes. I believe the key to his success, he is handy and knew to put all of the parts, in order, on the floor, for each component prior to assembly. This process allowed him to go right through the directions and parts without any delays or issues with assembly, he did all of the framing first, then the drawers. The cherry finish is a warm brown with a touch of red, the Palladia Executive Desk is extremely functional with its many features and looks much more expensive than its reasonable price and efficient delivery through Office Supply. I would highly recommend this desk for its quality, function and look to anyone!

I would buy this desk again even though we had to assemble i

This desk is large enough to handle a full work load without taking up much space in my room. The 2 file draws and 5 additional draws are very well constructed. . The attention to detail, like the slots built in to hide lamp and computer cords, is surprising- especially for this low price. Snd the door snd shelves on the back side are so handy to have. This desk is all you really need to make an office work. The shades of grey allow it to coordinate with all shades of grey walls and its neutral enough to go with any other color. I love this desk - once we put it together. It came extremely well packed with zero damage and all parts accounted for and numbered with extremely clear instructions. However it took my husband and I two days to assemble it. And since it is such a durable piece - the 2 cartons were extremely heavy If the delivery driver hadnt had a hand truck and volunteered to help us get it inside the house I dont know how we would have gotten it up the several exterior stairs. . Be prepared for this heavy load and jigsaw puzzle to assemble and I guarantee you will love this substantial piece of furniture for a super low price.

Quality Made Product

The assembly of the executive desk was quite a project. It was completed over a few days due to other events keeping me away from assembly, but I would guess that it was an 8+ hour project. The two boxes were delivered by one person and he struggled with both boxes to an easy front door delivery due to the weight of each box. The boxes had the outer plastic wrap not so much intact and the boxes were a little damaged most likely from the handling of the heavy boxes from factory to front door. Both boxes were fairly dirty, my guess would be warehouse dust, be careful to where they enter your house. Once out of the box all pieces were not damaged and clean. One suggestion is to assemble it as close as possible to where it will be located due to the weight of moving it. There were a few pieces that that did not fit quite as perfectly as all of the other parts. Slight modification/procedure was needed, which was easy to figure out if one has some back ground in carpentry/mechanics. All in all a very well built and engineered assembly type furniture kit, if you will. The desk fits with the home dcor and is very functional for my in-home office.

Even better than the pictures!

This is a great looking product with custom trim details. The Split oak finish is really nice and very hard to tell by looking at it that it is laminate. You have to run your hand over the surface to realize the grain or knots don't exist. I read a lot of comments regarding pieces arriving damaged and we didn't have one piece damaged on arrival. Also read that drawers slides were cheap and didn't work well. I am actually surprised how nice they are. All slides except the keyboard slide are ball bearing, extension slides and work well. Assembly: There are a LOT of pieces and it can be quite overwhelming when looking at them all. However, directions and fit of every piece is incredible. You must prepare yourself for 8-9 hours total time to assemble. Read EVERY piece of the directions as there are subtle part number difference or sequence of assembly that need to be done correctly. I guarantee if you follow exactly you won't be disappointed. The directions say not to use a power screwdriver. If you don't you will have many blisters due to the amount of screws and pieces to assemble. However if you do be really careful not to over tighten. Only use a high quality power drill/driver with a torque control and set it on the lowest torque setting possible to be sure you don't over tighten.

Great Desk! Love it!

If you are new to Sauder furniture, putting this together might be intimidating. I've put together about 6 Sauder items in the past so this desk took me a solid 9 hours to put together. If you're new to Sauder expect to take a little longer. . Yes as others have said, there are A LOT of pieces to put together and it comes in two boxes that weighed close to 100 pounds each. Two people to lift the boxes definitely needed. I carried the pieces into the room I was going to put the desk to make it easier. I highly recommend using a power screw driver! Some screws are very long and the wood is extremely hard. All holes lined up perfectly and the directions could be confusing if you rush through the process. But taking your time and you get a quality hard piece. Only down fall is the drawers, they are a bit hard to open and close, but over time the gliders should work better with use. It would also have been nice if there was a hold in the side of the desk for the power cords to run through the desk. The other ""con"" was that one of the boxes that contained the desk top must have been dropped during shipment and the corner of the desk was damaged. I decided to keep it as that side was going against the wall and no one would ever see it. Otherwise I know the seller would have replaced the entire desk, but since I had already unpacked everything I decided to keep it. I think that box could have been packed better by Sauder to ensure better protection. The other box was well packed and more secure as well. In the end this is a great desk and I love it. I'd buy it again.
