Paint chips

It’s easy to assemble and feels sturdy for what it is. But the finish isn’t very good. I had seen other reviews complaining about the finish and it’s true. I would not recommend this item for the price. I purchased it on sale but if it wasn’t I would have returned it. Especially considering all the paint chips and issues is on the sides that are visible. Not good quality or value.

Perfect fit

Prefect size for the space I wanted and looks classy, not cheap. The wood is good quality around the edges, but the center panels are particle board. Still looks good. I saw this on other sites for much more money.

This hamper is perfect for our needs. It is well made, wood, and nicely crafted. We have had it for 3 weeks now, and am not disappointed. It was worth the money,

Hamper

Easy to assemble. Recommend using a #3 Phillips screwdriver, if you have one, to tighten the locking cams. l also recommend putting plastic sliders on the base of the frame to make it easier to move the hamper on tile or carpet.

Good looking and Solid

This hamper is great! It is easy to assemble and solid. It fits nicely in my bedroom. The large capacity is nice, too. However, the one down side - the lid doesn't stay open as it is supposed to. A bit expensive, but I'm sure I will have this piece of "furniture" for a long time.

Lovely, sturdy laundry hamper. Fits perfectly in my master closet. Holds a lot of clothes. The shiny white finish matches the white decor of my closet. I love it!

Perfect

This laundry hamper was perfect for my newly painted bedroom. It was easy to assemble and has held up well. As others have said, the bottom is a bit flimsy and bows or pushes out. But this does not impact using it. Plus, the cats like to sit on it.

Very happy with this laundry hamper. Color was exactly what I wanted….matches my color scheme perfectly! Assembly went smoothly…directions were clear. Delivered quickly without any damage.

Just don't. The formaldehyde smell coming off of it was the worst I've ever encountered. I could smell it all the way down the hall just from the half an hour I spent putting it together. I left it outside for several days propped open. No decrease in the smell. I left it out for a few more. No improvement. This was going to go in my bedroom. I gave it away where it can be used in a safer space. If I needed it for a garage or screened in porch where there's a lot of air circulating and nobody sleeps there, then maybe....but I would NOT put this in a bedroom or bathroom. I wouldn't even buy it period.

Good quality, pretty color-- power drill required

I have two complaints about this hamper and both are minor. The first is that it doesn't come with a liner or have any supports to put a liner in. Not a big deal, but a disappointment given the price. The other is that we did have to use a power drill to put it together. This wasn't an issue for us because we have one, but the instructions indicated that no extra tools were necessary and this might be an issue for other people.

Holes weren’t big enough, making screws, I’ll fiyying

Hello, I put together and the holes weren’t big enough, making the screws ill fitting, it took 2.5 hours to put together. There was an odor upon opening packaging, however, that disappeared shortly. The color is beautiful. I tried contacting target, chat, can’t connect to them, and over phone recording will not let me get to a live agent. I can’t return, seeing how it’s too heavy for me to bring up set of stairs, then down couple set of stairs. Hopefully, I will get a refund, seeing how it cost me $85.00 or so.

BUYER BEWARE - if I could give this product no stars I would. After spending way too many months searching for a white hamper that fit the look I wanted, I had this hamper even longer on my to buy list. After finally deciding to order it, I was thinking maybe I should have gone with another. As soon as I opened the box, I was hit with the strongest, most noxious chemical smell. I should have taped it back up and returned it. However, I went ahead and put it together - somehow without passing out from the smell but getting a terrible headache instead - thought it would air out and be fine. 5 days later it was still just as strong of a chemical smell as before - I left it outside, I put it in the garage - it took almost 3 full days for my house to air out after simply putting it together in the living room; and ultimately it took a few full MONTHS for the hamper to lose the chemical smell completely. Now, over a year later, after many wipe-downs and days outside, I use it as intended - and I love the simple clean lines and style, but for someone who might have allergies or a respiratory condition; for a family that has infants or young children - really for anyone, the strength and type of chemical smell that this emitted should be deemed a health hazard - I even contacted Overstock customer service the next day to inform them and suggest that they pull the product from their lineup. Ultimately, just be mindful of what you may encounter on this one.

Quality Control

Quality control, from this company, needs to do a better job. The item was easy to assemble. The paint job on this item is not very good. I will need to repaint it as hit was hit and miss on the paneling. Otherwise, nice product. Price is a little steep for what you get too. I probably could have made one myself and much better quality.

Cute sturdy laundry room storage

Purchased 3 of these for the laundry room. Have been intending to install classic style cabinetry with countertop but 1) its expensive and 2) installation is a hassle. Anyway, saw a review for this item that mentioned using the hamper to store dog food. Well, I am using one to store dog food, another for recycling and a third for misc. storage. I did put small-ish wastebasket inside the hamper to better store the contents. They are lined up against the wall under wire shelving and it looks a lot better than it did with everyone just piled along the wall! For the price, this is a great somewhat-temporary solution to my laundry room storage. Also there was a slight mar in the finish of one (of the three) hampers. However, this is difficult to find unless looking for it.

The 'Oceanstar Storage Laundry Hamper in Turquoise' would have been given an 'excellent' review except for a couple of things. One, the assembly kit really needs to provide e.g., a tablespoon of extra paint so that any defects can be covered. When mine was painted, they were sloppy along one of the inner panels. It isn't visible unless one really looks for it. Second, the actual hamper color is less bright then what is shown on the web site; so maybe the site’s product description might include an actual color in technical terms, e.g. color #8ebfdb4m or (R 142, G 189, B 180) or (C 45%M 11%, Y 41%, K 0%). Note: My roommate assembled it for me and he had trouble with one thread Post and Cam Insert fitting tightly. Eventually he got the one to work; other than that, well crafted, easy assembly. Great product overall.

Not worth the money.

For the money, this is a joke. First off, this smells, really bad. I noticed it when I picked up the package from the porch. On top of that this needs to be assembled and once we started to put it together we noticed the hardware it came with was not complete. There was no way for us to be able to assemble it, so back it goes. Which was actually a blessing in disquise, as we were not impressed.

Terrible quality

I had been looking for a plain, wood hamper for awhile and was so excited when I found this but I cannot recommend it as it is not made well. We purchased this in November and after a week or so it broke. The cam locks won't stay locked so the hamper comes apart easily and requires us to fix it each time. This is definitely not worth it for the price. Do not buy.

Excellent price. Like that it is made of wood. Like the teal color. It's deeper than I anticipated (I measured incorrectly), so instead of placing it in the bathroom, I placed it in an extra bedroom. Works just as well in there as if it were in the bathroom, perhaps even a little better. Dislike the thinness of the wood in some places. Dislike the strong kerosene-like odor that emanates from the inside of the hamper. My 15-pound Siberian cat likes to sit atop it so I placed an ultra small fluffy rug on the top of it and she loves to observe her surroundings from it. Overall it is a very good buy and I would recommend it to others. Thank you.

I love this hamper! It keeps nasty smelly clothes out of sight! It also keeps our new puppy from pulling socks and other small items out through the holes which is the problem we had with our old hamper. It is very easy to assemble and is very sturdy. I bought two for our bathrooms and plan on buying one for each closet. Love it!
