WTB Volt Carbon Medium
Pro-very light saddle
I had no idea that I needed a NARROW SADDLE!
After decades of thinking seat pain was part of cycling, I finally had my seatbone width measured. As a 6-foot, 210 pound rider, I always assumed I needed a "big" saddle. The Volt narrow saddle has changed EVERYTHING. I can't believe I endured seat discomfort for so many years.
Perfect fit
Had a bit narrower race saddle and suspected my sit bikes were 138mm so went with this medium Volt and it’s perfect. Thanks for offering a steel option so I did not have spend a lot to test it out. Now a may buy a carbon one to race on.
great fit for me compared to the WTB Sil...
great fit for me compared to the WTB Silverado medium and Deva medium because those have less cushioning. I can ride for much longer now, although the width of the rear could be narrower because I like to jump and throw my weight back (the Volt narrow felt stiff and not sized for me.)
Came stock, but loved it
I bought an Ibis Exie, and due to stock issues, this saddle was swapped in as a replacement for the Silverado. Once I built it up, I wanted to ride the Exie immediately and kept the stock saddle on for that ride. I'm glad I did. It's great! It is the only padded saddle I can even stand to ride long in. I have swapped all my MTBs over to this saddle and am seriously considering swapping all my bikes over. I'm a saddle snob and honestly shocked that a 'cheap' saddle would become my favorite.
It's a good performing saddle for the value, but your butt's your butt -- it's worth playing Goldilocks and finding the one that's juuuuust right. It's an expensive process, but your saddle informs your entire riding experience and is worth dialing in. This one wasn't that for me. It was a bit too firm and long-nosed for my longer rides.
good choice for a narrow saddle
This saddle is very comfortable. It seems like people often think they need a plush saddle with lots of surface area. But for me, a very narrow profile works great because it doesn't put pressure against my thighs.
Amazing Saddle
I've been using various steel versions of the Volt for years on my MTB and Gravel bikes; I absolutely love the profile of this saddle. I ended up snagging a pair of the titanium versions for my XC and gravel bikes to save a bit of weight on my builds. Super happy with the quality of these, and the shipping speed was phenomenal!
Solid seat!Good quality for a good price
The seat is very well made, and at a lower price point than similar seats. I found it somewhat firm (I am a thin guy) and felt some soreness on longer rides. I purchased this Wide Width version after trying the Medium Width as my "sit bone range" is between the two (~130mm) and I found the wider one to be more comfortable.
Awesome tire
Put this on my daughter's front wheel to get her tubeless ready for this year's NICA races and practices. Holds great and works awesome. I'll be grabbing one of these for my bike when it's time to swap out.
Saddle creaks
I love the Volt saddle. Unfortunately, the one I recently bought creaked right out of the package. It is very distracting when riding. My previous Volt had the same problem. I am bummed about this problem after spending $140. I will most likely try another brand for my next saddle.
Wider fits the butt better
The 150mm saddle seems to catch my sit bones better. Seemed a little firm on my first ride but after over an hour it seemed just fine. A few more rides before I have real butt feedback. So far it seems like a great upgrade from the stock saddle it is replacing.
My Goldilocks Saddle
My bike originally came with a WTB Volt Medium Cromoly. The shape was pleasant and the amount of padding was right for me. However, I found that it was simply too wide for me, which made for difficult fore/aft transition. It also chafed a bit and the excess pressure on my outer thighs became uncomfortable.
Saddle search is over
The Volt is my second attempt at finding a suitable saddle for my gravel bike. I like it because it is affordable with just the right amount of cushioning. The chromoly rails seemed like the perfect choice for my chromoly bike. I went with a size medium and I would say it is a perfect fit for my 6’1” 175lbs frame. The saddle feels equally good when riding in the drops and on the hoods. At first, I wasn’t too impressed. However, I started to micro adjust each time I took the bike out and finally found the sweet spot. So, if an open saddle isn’t your cup of tea, I would definitely recommend giving the Volt a try.
My go-to saddle, especially for long rides
I use this saddle on all my MTBs and gravel bikes. It's a comfortable saddle with a great price point. I have done MTB and gravel bike bikepacking trips up to 350 miles on this saddle without any issues. It's very comfortable for short day rides too.
WTB all the way
At least for my posterior, WTB saddles are the most comfortable I've used in over 30 years of cycling. I purchased this particular saddle to replace the OEM saddle on the Orbea Rise (most uncomfortable saddle I've sat on). I purchased the regular and heavier steel rails for my Rise because the additional grams don't factor in significantly on an e-bike. For my regular mountain bike though, I have this same model but with the titanium rails. Also very durable.
Nice saddle for the money
The finishing is tidy, the curvature is comfortable & the padding is just about right for my bony a**se.
Exactly what I was after at a good price
I wanted a replacement saddle for an old mountain bike, that rarely gets to a mountain - so a comfortable seat for riding mainly on the roads. I am used to a road bike saddle. this fits the bill perfectly. a bit more comfort than a road saddle but firm enough to put the load in the right places. good price and reasonable delivery time.. I'll be back again no doubt..
The Volt is the most comfortable bike saddle on the market
My Pivot Switchblade came with the WTB Volt saddle when I bought the bike. The Volt was always incredibly comfortable, really shining through on longer rides. So after a freak accident damaged that saddle, I replaced it with another Volt. Ordering was simple, it was delivered a couple days later, and I got back to riding. I like the Volt so much that I even bought another one to replace a (perfectly working) saddle on my hardtail MTB.
MC
Very good saddle for mixing comfort and performance on long trail days . Upper seam. however, allows water ingress on very wet rides or in heavy rain. Saddle will then stay wet for days or weeks and slowly leak water onto your pants. Disappointing that this really is a dry weather saddle only. 5 Stars in Dry. 1 Star in mixed weather.
