Brackets are impossible

I ordered a 72" and a 36". Assembly wasn't horrible. But the brackets are difficult. There are 2 holes on each bracket and the lower one is not easy to drill into the furring strip because the screw has to be drilled in on an angle and the head of the screw doesn't sit flush. In turn, the window box doesn't slide on the top part of most of the brackets. It just depends on how deep I was able to get the screw because of the angle.

Beautiful! Easy to put together. Bar clamps are a must if you are working on your own. Very durable. I would highly recommend this product. My only suggestion would be to paint the brackets to match the window box itself. Nice curb appeal.

Bought 2 of these flower boxes. They look great on the house. Watched the video prior to purchase. A heads up: Video shows wood backing for installation and thought that they would be included. Not so. Took me a little longer to install but that’s due to my house having brick behind the wood window frames so a little creativity was needed. Wife loves the final look.

Window box comes unassembled. Really needed two of us to glue and click the pieces together as the pieces are quite heavy (and sturdy). It's really a very nice box, but although the dimensions were 72" long from edge to edge, the usable inside of the box is smaller, so I couldn't fit the 3 standard sized plastic planter boxes I wanted to use inside of it. The box is way deeper than you need, and they suggest you fill the bottom with some kind of "filler" before adding soil so wanted to use planter boxes instead. Still haven't figured out how to do this. For now have 2 planter boxes sitting on smaller plastic containers so they are high enough. We did install it onto the house, and it looks fantastic.

Good Price, Quality Not What I Had Hoped

I am not sure this window box will stand up to the elements for too long. I wasnt aware that it is a shiny vinyl until I opened the packaging. I had thought it was a duller, more wood-like finish. I do not know how it would hold a heavy load of soil and plants, but I will be using faux plants with styrofoam inside. It was cost effective, so I will keep it. It may find a home on the back of my house so I can put a nicer one in front.

Perfect fit and easy to assemble

Very pleased with the product but mostly happy I followed the directions. Specifically I did the dry fitting and discovered a small corner that had been slightly bent during shipping. I was able to straighten it easily with pliers but had I not dry fitted first I am pretty sure I would not have been able to assemble. After I made the small adjustment everything went well and they are beautiful filled with succulents that won't block our view of the waterfront.

These came with good instructions and were easy to assemble (We purchased a 72" and 24"). They have great curb appeal. Mounting the brackets was a little tricky as the studs on the house did not align with a balanced flower box position. Plus, I had to be able to transpose the position of the studs from the inside of the house to the outside as I was unable to pick them up under the vinyl siding. Mounted a 1x8 treated board to the studs and then centered the flower boxes on the board. This holds fine. Drainage and water retention is great on these because of the bottom design that captures enough water to keep the flowers happy for a while.

As good as advertised.

This is a good quality vinyl product, not a cheapy by any means. Looks good on the house, and made my wife quite happy. Needs to be put together with an adhesive and clamps, which was not highlighted in the description, but not beyond a typical homeowners capability. The actual opening for flowers is about 2 inches smaller than the stated length dimension, so only accepts a certain sized container, which we found out the hard way. But overall, a good product and a good experience. Customer service also superior. I would - and will - purchase again.

I would never buy this product again

The glue included is extremely hard to get out of the tube. Despite following directions including using clamps, all three window boxes leaked tremendously! I had to get a professional to install these on my home with vinyl siding because of the level of difficulty. The "self watering" aspect is a joke because the roots of newly planted flowers are not going to reach the bottom where the water is supposed to be stored if they did not leak so you have to add water to these window boxes pretty much daily. Do not buy these!!!

Waiting on the self watering aspect as these were just put up yesterday . The directions were good for assembly. The parts constructed w easy fit! The classic lines, sufficient brackets equipped w appropriate screws , left me with a good impression of the product. Got these in white, hoping the color holds as I like the crispness of that look. Can hardly wait for my plants to get established .... they will look really good in this product!

These boxes look beautiful but glue it a problem

The boxes themselves are strong and well made. They will be mounted above where sunken galvanized steel sunken window boxes were. Sadly the glue that comes with them is EXTREMELY difficult to push out of the tube and in spite of carefully applying a thick bead of glue on the joints as directed, they leak.

Have been wanting window boxes for my windows, so started researching. I wanted something that would last a long time. Based on the description, decided to go with these. Shipping was fast. These are really high quality, very sturdy and they look fabulous! Installation went smoothly. I definitely would highly recommend these window boxes.

Caution: Assembly requires 2-3 people and probably trigger clamps too

I am a very experienced do-it-yourselfer. I have done everything from the repair of tractors to the installation of agricultural irrigation systems. And this is the first do-it-yourself project that has utterly defeated me.

Didn’t work for me due to construction.

Fabulous window box, reviews priceless

Love this box, only person in the neighborhood with one! Its in direct sunlight on 2nd floor most of the day in hot Virginia Beach... even w/trough needs warering for full 4-5 minutes by hose from driveway. Squirrels trying to nest but red pepper flakes in dirt helped! Husband in construction... review tips from others were gold! Clamps were KEY, speed with glue KEY. Husband created own wedge/notched blocking

Received this product in a well packaged manner along with instructions and screws etc. to assemble it. We did all of the PVC gluing the first day and let it sit 24 hours until the glue had set. And it really did set. We measured where we wanted it and snapped a level line and then installed a decking board over the siding and we cut the decking board 4" shorter than the Window Box so that the board would not be seen. We then screwed that into the siding and 2X6's..We then screwed the 5 brackets onto the decking board and then put the Window Box onto the brackets.Easy to do!

Do not buy Mayne window boxes. The self watering Yorkshire I bought leak like a sieve and they said it was because of improper assembly. Having followed the directions on their own video: Being generous with the glue, using clamps, tapping the caps with a rubber mallet, I have come to the conclusion that their glue sets up too fast (if you can manage to even get it out of the tube!) to form a seamless seal that will hold water. Another thing I want potential buyers to know is I also bought the decorative corbels only to find out they will not be flush if you have siding so a side view shows an ugly gap. The Mayne customer service people I dealt with were very nice and apologetic so I give 1 star.

Nice window planter box

Bought this 8 foot window box to fill a 9 foot picture window. It is a nice looking planter/box with substantial structural detail. I am an experienced woodworker and I can say the assembly will take some patience and attention to detail. I will be installing it to a brickface wall at a 2 foot height (off ground Level). I plan to use 5X (metal brackets, supplied). The brackets are sufficiently heavy and would work well (Wood wall WOULD require proper anchoring, depending on your planter box length) WHAT IS annoying is this manufacturer does not include the architectural brackets needed, that will cost you extra.
