I bought this to use as primer on the ceiling in my older home. I have struggled with painting things like the window trim, but most recently the ceiling in my living room. We tore down some old ceiling tile and was surprised at how the ceiling looked! I expected it to be in bad shape but it wasn't. But it was totally Brown!! I tried Kilz 2, then paint but it all turned brown as well. so with some research I learned about tannin. I decided to try this even though I thought it was expensive. I worked better than I could ever imagine!! It totally cover/sealed the ceiling. I highly recommend this!!! It is a little strange to work with. It's thin, like water, but whatever it gets on it gives a good coating!! Not so easy to get off your skin or off your roller or brush!!

It shows a very good surface coverage. I've been using it in all my wood painting work.

Great primer

Best primer i have used. It's thin but it covers stains in and paint sticks to it. Ace had a better price on it than the big lumber stores. Cleans up with ammonia and water or alcohol.

I've used this product for no less than 30 years and have achieved flawless results for a multitude of projects very large and general DIY within both Comercial & residential needs. It's adherence is its most beneficial capabilities and stands up to the test of time.

Didn't work

Used to cover urine smell in subfloor of new construction home that was broken into. 3 coats later and you can still smell the exact spot the urine was on. Same issue on concrete. Yes, multiple steps were taken to treat urine before using this product. I knew I should have used Kilz oil based. When I finally did, one coat did the trick. Returned and got money back.

This stuff is great!

Covers knots, and they never come back! I've used B.I.N. for years and have had outstanding results painting over knotty pine and/or cedar knots. One coat only covering the knots, then two more coats on the entire surface. Wha-la, no more knots, and they won't bleed through even after many years! This stuff stinks though. I always wear a respirator.

Always fresh cans because of quicker turnover than the paint stores.

I did a lot of research to make sure I used a product that would cover pine knots in the shiplap I installed in my bathroom. I am thoroughly pleased with the results.

Shellac primer

This product really works. It covers shellac surfaces in one coat and cleans up with ammonia.

You don’t have to sand just clean the peace good

Solid coverage. Professional painters prefer this product. Has an odor so needs excellent ventilation!!!

Best primer .

Wow sticks to oil and high gloss surfaces all the way. Super strong odor you may need a rebreather. If you're not sure if something will stick might as well use this . We don't like to sand ,seems to stick either way. I despise paint that doesnt stick on a job , freaks me out like I see the future scratches coming.
