the original rubber valves use the black rubber that gets all over your hands and wears out rather quickly. Zurn has 3 year warranty! Also, with Zurn they give me a choice of 3.5 gallon or 1.6. Perhaps sloan does too but I've never seen that when shopping for replacements/
