2 issues on nightstands

The boards are numbered to put together but the numbers are permanently stamped on the boards and are on the front where you can see them. Also, one of the wheels on the drawer was broken. I bought two and both have the same issue.

Before you assemble

The finish is much less quality than I expected, so as I assembled it I used a premium wood glue. Works well and has the look I was going for! P.S. I went to **** and changed out the simple plastic chrome knob that it came with to a metal rose gold with pattern knob...

Looks nice but...

Looks nice but it's all lamented MDF, lots of assembly required. Suggest to get a powered screwdriver for some of the assembly. Front knob is cheap plastic so I'd have another one ready to go, I'll have to find one locally (the lamp I bought didn't come with a light bulb so looking for that too). It's OK but not worth the $* I paid for it.

Good Luck - but a Pain in General

I mean...I'm struggling with this review. Pros: It's a nice scale for the price. Sometimes these items arrive and they're just too small, but this was a good size. It looks harder to put together than it is. Note that you have to have your own tools (screwdriver or drill + hammer) Cons: Made kind of cheaply. My corners were all nicked and messy. It does take forever to put together. EVERY single element of these nightstands are separate. The drawer knob is made of plastic and looks bad. For an extra couple of $$ - I'd suggest just going to buy a new one and replace it. I bought the one with the teal drawer It's a great pop of color, and it comes in a glossy/lacquer finish, which pops. Unless you're absolutely in love with these and can't live without them - I'd recommend maybe finding an alternative. The juice was not worth the squeeze.

Will Not Withstand the Test of Time

I did thoroughly read the reviews before purchasing and it seemed like it was a mixed bag, but those that reviewed this on the lower end are correct. It does what it needs to do, but it is not good quality and so if there is any minimal graze against it, like on the floor when putting it together or against the wall, it will get ruined. The legs also came pretty deformed, in terms of the paint job. I made sure to hide the deformed ones in the bag when putting it together. I was under a time crunch because I had family visiting, or I would have returned the item.

Not a bad little nightstand for the price.

I was looking for something cheap in price, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and tall enough for the height of my bed. These little nightstands fit the bill.

Cheap and hard to put together

You pay for what you get. I was going for a very specific look so tried these out. The legs were nearly impossible to get on as the holes drilled were way to small. You will need a drill. A few of the dremel holes were drilled too far and shattered the outside board when putting the dremels in. I am still waiting for a replacement to be sent. The drawer was also made off center but still works. Save your time and money and don't buy these.

Bought two and really love them. There are a few reviews that say there's a gap or that the draw doesn't close properly.. I'd just like to reassure future buyers that this is not a design flaw but an assembling mistake. The piece of wood meant to be the inner shelf just above the drawer is shorter than the top piece of wood. Just make sure you have the inner piece of wood laying flush with the back of the stand and this allows the drawer to close properly. If you lay the inner shelf flush with the front of the stand it will cause a gap and the drawer will not close. I think they're lovely and go well with our old world type bedroom theme.

Looks like a toy, not worth it

The quality of this nightstand is so poor, it looks like a toy next to my other furniture. This is not worth more than $**for a kids room where it will get destroyed or covered with pain. Save your money and buy something with real wood, not this shiny pressboard. It was hard to tell in the photo, but the patterned drawer is a painting, not actually woven/carved, and the handle is shiny plastic like a cake topper or something disposable. I bought it because it fit the dimensions of a specific space, but I'd rather that space be empty than filled with this junky nightstand.

Nice Piece for the Price

Pretty much what you expect. Nice piece for the price. About 1 hour to put together. A nice touch is an extra bag with parts (I love this because things happen). The drawer is a little rickety sliding in and out but it will work just fine. The drawer knob is plastic which is about the only thing I thought as cheap. Why go through all the trouble making something so nice and skimp on a 25 cent door handle? It looks like it is metal but it is not. Otherwise, sturdy nightstand, very good design and easy instructions!

Nightstand Small

The Nightstand is of medium quality. Its exactly what i was looking for. A Small enough nightstand to fit in a small bedroom so we could have room to wiggle around the room. The installation was very easy. i did in 1 hour by myself. But alos while watching TV so maybe it would have taken less time. Its a little on the darker size, wanted lighter but color did not bother me. Some measurements are a little off... but nothing that couldnt be dealt with.

These look great, the wood is a perfect color and I love the style BUT the quality was lacking. I ordered 2 of the exact same nightstand at the same time. They came in different types of packaging and the assembly was different for both (some parts were even different.) One was rather complicated to put together, and the other was not. Once together, the overall quality of both nightstands was lacking. The more difficult one to put together was actually a little bit better quality than the easier one. I really wanted to love these, but I would not purchase them again.

I was really impressed with how well this item was packaged. Everything was very protected and padded - there is no way a careless delivery person could ruin it. I was also pleased with the clear, complete instructions and the fact that they included a few spares with the hardware. The assembled nightstand is now in my bedroom and is absolutely perfect. I chose the version with the marquetry/mosaic style drawer front. The pictures don't necessarily convey that this drawer front is smooth. I thought it would have raised bumps, but upon closer inspection, that was just an optical illusion. I still really like it though.

Cute mid century modern style nightstand, narrow enough to fit in small spaces. Tons of space to store books, journals or other necessities. Very stylish, yet simple. I bought two of them to put on either side of my bed and the look is great! It was very simple to put together, the directions were very easy to follow. It was nice how they included a little bag of extra pieces (screws, nails, etc) in case anything was missing. I have been ordering furniture, area rugs, kitchen towels and so many things from Overstock.com in the last 6 months and it has been awesome. Everything from ordering to delivery is so simple and even FUN to do! Thanks Overstock!

On the plus side, you get some ultra mid-century style at a price that won't break the bank. For the most part the finished product is adequately solid for light to medium duty use once assembled. The brown wood grain veneer looks pretty good (though it is much grayer in person than I had expected), and the simulated wood on the back panel is above average. It comes with extra screws and dowels, etc. The hardware is neatly labeled in separate packets. The product appeared well packed and protected upon arrival. Now for the negatives... overall quality and ease of assembly is a bit lower than IKEA stuff or, for example, the Project 62 Amherst bookcase I put together a few days ago. Brown paint on the legs was very sloppy, the finish on the blue drawer was peeling/wearing at the edges the day I took it out of the box and it looks like it will wear poorly. The gloss finish really shows fingerprints like crazy. Instructions are not detailed enough and several parts that will fit in two different directions but are intended to face a certain direction(shelf, top, sides of drawer) are not labeled/unclear, making it and easy to screw up when assembling. The legs would have been difficult to get on if I didn't have a power drill with a very tightly fitting phillips bit. The drawer doesn't fit very tightly, it slides cheaply and the pull is low grade plastic. The bottom of the drawer is very thin, but maybe it will hold up fine due to the many screws used to attach it. I don't think the dresser would last long if used by rough kids... with a careful adult it would probably be fine. As a functional side table, you can get much better quality and ease of assembly at a lower price elsewhere. That side, if you want this style there are only so many options out there. If you love the way it looks, don't mind taking a bit of time putting things together and won't be to rough, then go for it.

not happy with this purchase.

one of the worst pieces of furniture I have bought to date. looks nice once you put it together but for the price, terrible quality. I even had to break out the drill halfway through to make the screw holes larger to assemble all the pieces. took about 1.5 hours to put together... would return but did not want to go thru the hassle of having to take everything apart, shipping, etc..
