This is a cute compost bin that looks great on my kitchen counter, however it allows fruit flies to escape when I open to add more fruitveg scraps. The flies get caught in the filter when I wash it and can’t get them out. Disappointing.

It is so cute on our kitchen counter, not overly large 1 gal has been the perfect size for us. This has been a very convenient way of storing our garden scraps I especially like that the filter eliminates any bad smells. Every 2-3 days we’ll remove the interior bucket, empty it onto our compost pile outside, wash replace. Easy peasy! I would definitely order this again just may do that because I need a scrap bucket for our chickens!

Works great, looks cute on my countertop to hold the daily scraps. Love the charcoal filter as it keeps smell down. Removable bucket that’s easy to wash is a major plus. Would definitely recommend!

Like that it fits in the kitchen without taking up to much space

This collected an alarming number of fruit flies who just moved in and laid their eggs in the charcoal filter like it was a penthouse apartment. If you live in an area with fruit flies and keep the doors and windows open in the summer months, don't bother with this product. It will just compound your problem. Until the flies moved in it worked great for us, but after that it was just a breeding ground. Purchase with caution based on your surrounding biome.

Was a bit skeptical using this indoor compost bin which I placed on the kitchen countertop to hold veggie peels and such. No foul smells or flies. Recommend it.
