Mounting tabs break off easily

I wanted something in black trim to blend in with my dark home theater ceiling and this was one of the few options I found. I installed the first two without any problems, but the mounting tabs on the second two broke off as I tried to install them. They have these three metal tabs that spiral out from the center and you're supposed to push up and twist to install it, and the tabs are supposed to bend inward and then hold it up in the can using tension. However these tabs are mounted with very tiny rivets that popped right out on two of them during install. For how expensive they were, this is unacceptable. I'm going to return all 4 to the store and try something else.

I gave the rating because I found it extremely hard to "twist" into my existing 6" recessed light. It replaced an existing install above my shower, which was an older Progress can with a 30 Par outdoor light. It has 3 metal "wings" that extend from the outside of the unit above the rim, which are supposed to rotate into the can and hold it in place. Only 2 of the 3 would go into the recessed unit, without slicing into the drywall ceiling, and the instructions left a lot to be desired. I even tried searching online for something more complete. So, I ended up removing the wings and gluing the rim to the ceiling with PG. I like the brightness of the light, and it appears to be safer in a shower with the enclosed LED bulb. My only issue will be when the bulb burns out years from now, taking the unit down off the ceiling.
