Finally got this heater installed by an electrician, which was essential. It works pretty well, warms up our medium size bathroom enough to take the edge off of cold days. It turns off as soon as the temperature reaches what it thinks is 80 degrees, but seems more like 68.

Installed easily into existing box. Works well, including the thermostat (I had to replace the old one because the thermostat had broken and it would completely shutoff). So, I'm glad to have it working again.

Electric Wall Heater Problems

I must say that they have greatly improved the design of these heaters over the years. Electric wall heaters are (technically speaking) extremely simple animals, but if not designed correctly can certainly cause a fire. What happens to all electric forced fan heaters is this - if they are not dusted out at least every couple years (cadet recommends every 6 months I believe), the fan becomes too bogged down, even possibly frozen from the accumulated dust overloading the sleeve bearings causing them to fail. Without airflow, the temperature runs away and it is not heating the room (it is heating up in the wall). If it were not for the safety features on this heater, it would certainly mean a fire - as there would be nothing left to stop it (as electrically it would still be within rated limit, heating inside the wall would not stop).

It does the job. I replaced an old one with the new updated version. This one has a auto reset button. The other one would trip and would remain off until manually reset, leaving area cold. The one it replaced was 13 years old. I live in Idaho mountains and it get down to minus 20 degrees in winter. If first time purchase make sure it fits your room size and insulation in that room and how warm you want it. I have one of these under my house and in well pump house to keep it at 40 degrees so my pipes don't freeze as well as in my house.

This item is a replacement for the internal heater element not the entire heater which I was looking for. It doesn't specify this on the Web site. Also, had to have someone else purchase what I wanted at a store in another state because it isn't available in the local area.

Simple replacement for old wall heater.

I needed to replace the existing wall heater because the thermostat was no longer available as a repair part. I was able to easily order the replacement online with free shipping. Fit exactly as it was supposed to. Maybe my imagination but it seems to put out more heated air than the old one.

Just what we needed.

I bought this unit to replace a very old Cadet with a failed thermostat. Finding a replacement heater was more difficult than I thought. The unit was small and most wall heaters were simply too large. The customer service at Cadet helped me find the right unit for my needs. Works great
