Great Quality, But a Bit Pricey

I’ve been using the MINERAL B Carbon Steel Country Fry Pan, and overall, I’m happy with it. The quality is solid, but I feel it’s priced a bit higher compared to similar pans with the same gauge and quality. I'd give it 4 stars.

Blue steel

This comment is for those addicted to bluing. I blued it before use, turned out really beautiful deep blue inside out. We oven seasoned it and the non sticking worked good, already won over my Asian wife from her nonstick wok. The bottom turned dark silver from cooking but you can still see blue in the rim. Nice!

This is my 2nd DeBuyer, 1st one in 2016, as shown it’s the obviously most used one. It’s been on the grill, gas top, induction, wood fire…The newest got here couple weeks ago. Did the very light oil (grape seed) 450 for 1 hr twice. Used it for 1st time yesterday for breaded fried pork loin pieces. I cook outside mostly in the summer and used a glass top outside burner, which I am careful sliding it around. They were fabulous. Then did the oven thing again today. It’s lookin really nice so far. These 2 workhorses are in good company with my fairly sizable array of all things cast iron. This is an awesome product for anyone taking an interest in the type of cooking they are so good at, and enjoying the seasoning process. They’ll be around a long time after me

Country Fry Pan Love.

I love this pan! Food does not stick and stir frying is wonderful because the tall sides keeps food in the pan. The weight of the pan is almost as heavy as cast iron making the pan, in my opinion, better than a cast iron wok. Dee[ frying is a joy since splattering is kept to a minimum. You must buy this cookware. It is the last cookware you will ever need to buy.

Like my skillet but deeper. Enough room for stir fry for a family of 7 that eats. Love it. Make sure to do a really super crazy thin coat of flax seed oil to season in 450 degree oven for 1 hour 5 times. Super crazy thin like you think that there is not enough oil. If the polymerized layer is to thick, it chips off to easily if food sticks.

Best Cookware

I bought my first duBuyet skillet several years ago. It is my favorite now for everything. I have since bought two more (different) duBuyer pans and am equally impressed.

Good quality

Great quality after the seasoning for 5 separate times. It gives me precise control of frying speed according to the set temperature of the gas stove. The food does not stick to the surface, and it is easy to clean with hot water after frying.

I am in the process of developing a seasoning, but it is a work in progress. It is starting to be non-stick, naturally. But, it will take time, and anything worth having takes time to develop. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I bought the biggest one they offer with the two small side handles which makes it easier to handle instead of the one long handle. Having deep sides is really nice so that when you stir the food, stuff doesn’t fly out! Having the largest size also means your food isn’t crowded. We cook for two and it’s perfect! We did a stir fry the first time we got it and my wife says she doesn’t need the wok anymore!

I bought the pan specifically to be used on the grill to slow cook pork shoulder or Boston butt, and other larger cuts of meat. The shape prevents burning of the roast, and the heavy pan worked well to evenly distribute the heat, with nice browning on the top of the meat. the double handles work better than one long handle when used on the grill, as it takes less room, allowing another pan to be located on the grill for vegetables. Very pleased with the results. Plan on using it for 2 chicken breasts (with the bone and skin), in a marinade.

This is a great fry pan. The deep "country" style makes is versatile on its own, and the two-helper-handle style (vs. long handle + helper) makes it even more so. This version can go on the grill or in the oven much more easily than the other. The 11" size is big and roomy without taking over the whole stove top.

I have the 9.5” pan, perfect for one or two people. I chose the dual handle pan as it is easier to store than a “stick” pan and it can go into the oven without worry as the handles are stainless steel and have no covering. This is an amazing pan for stir frying and frying other things without much spatter. You won’t go wrong with this pan! I would like to purchase the 11” for larger amounts.

The country fry pan is really fantastic for both deep and shallow frying -- it heats evenly, it's nice and big but easy to move around, and foods release cleanly and beautifully. It took seasoning (on the stovetop; the photo I shared shows it immediately post seasoning) like a dream. When occasionally I have cooked something acidic in the pan, and the seasoning gets a bit eroded, it's very quick and easy to touch up the seasoning and it's as slick and good as ever. I especially like this pan for potatoes: french fries, latkes, smashed potatoes, giant rosti, etc., because it gives such a beautiful crust and they never, ever stick, as long as you are patient and let the crust form before you try to poke them around. It's great.

My experience using de buyer deep pan is really good. First, it is not heavy, so handling and cleaning is easy. Once, I season it nothing sticks to the bottom, the key is to use medium to low heat. I saute my vegetables in deep pan, it is deep enough to cook large quantities. The vegetables taste amazing when cooked in iron pan. I can differentiate the taste between stainless steel and iron. Added iron to my vegetables is a plus.

Seasoning this turned out to be harder than I thought. I did clean under hot running water, but I guess some of the wax was still on it? later after seasoning per directions, there were dark colored spots on the pan. Multiple seasonings seems to only make it worse. I may have to use harsh cleaners to start fresh.
