Look exactly as expected and seem well built. One suggestion to manufacturer would be an alternative way to mount than exposed screws. My husband is crafty and will improvise!

We purchased 4 Board & Batten shutters. Very nice and I'd buy more, if we needed them anywhere else. Far better than the plastic shutters often used by contractors, etc.

Finally!! Mass producer/supplier has dared to incorporate a distinguished design (look) for a fair price.

I’ve ordered 9 sets of these shutters and all came with issues. The build quality is terrible, I had to disassemble several to align them. You can almost guarantee they will all be different colors also, I had to paint all of them.

Beautiful quality and workmanship

These shutters were PERFECT. Tongue and groove and put together with screws as opposed to nails. Color and fabrication far exceeded our expectations as we had previously ordered two other brands to verify color with the house and roof color. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

[Rewarded Review] Definitely Rustic

As some reviewers on other sites have mentioned, these shutters are extremely rustic, with lots of flaws in the lumber and only a slapdash paint job. I was planning to change the color anyway, so the issue with the stain is not a deal-breaker for me. I am keeping the shutters, as they'll save my husband from doing the carpentry himself, and as they are an improvement on the vinyl shutters currently on the house. Just thought I'd share my opinions in case someone wants a more finished look and wants more information before making an expensive purchase that would be cumbersome to return. Annoyed also to see that this product has been marked down in price since my very recent purchase.

The worst

Literally the worst purchase ever. 3 of the 4 shutters we bought were screwed in crooked, so we had to unscrew them and put them back together. Wood is peeling and chipping everywhere - I’m trying to restain parts where wood has chipped and it causes more wood to chip. Although they say they are weather proof, I don’t feel confident with that so am putting polyurethane coating on top. Cheap product. Would have been cheaper and higher quality to make them myself, and I’m not even handy.

Disappointed

Had to take theam apart and rebuild because of crooked boards. Wood had many blemishes that had to be filled/repaired and sanded. No mounting hardware was supplied for either set. Should have returned and built my own.

Dogberry you unfinished board and batten shutters

I read all the reviews and was somewhat apprehensive that these might arrive and be thin or not well constructed but i took the chance, and so glad i did! They are substantial well made and took my stain color like a champ. I am quite pleased with the purchase. For a couple hundred dollars they made a nice statement and addition to the curb appeal.

New house shutters

I was really excited to find a great price on board and batten shutters. I wasn't sure how the grey would look on my house but I love the color! It has really added a new dimension to my house. One shutter had a little bit of damage on the bottom but my husband was able to repair it with wood glue.

Poor Craftsmanship

The edges are all split from poor cuts. The horizontal slats are crooked and mismatched positioning. The color is way too light. I had to add a coat of stain on the good shutters. The shutters that came crooked I ended up just replacing with some I made myself instead of blowing the money on a poor product.

The shutters were what we expected except there was a big difference in stain between the right one and the left one. My husband had to restain them. . . The more important problem was that the box was damaged when they were delivered. One end was open at both edges and the hardware was not in the box. We know there should have been hardware because we ordered the 72" shutters from Home Depot and the hardware was is the box.

Wow. I was so disappointed in these shutters. They were cheaply made. Boards were barely stapled, not screwed or nailed, together and loose,the middle board were not even attached to the short cross board, the back side of the boards were very rough and not even sanded smooth and large chunks out of some boards. They were even packaged nice, just a sheet of corrugated brown paper.

Slat Black - Great Quality!

My home is new construction so these have not yet been hung. I chose the slat black and they are perfect! My front and back doors will be painted black as well and these will be a great match. I adore that these are not solid black and you can still see all of the elements of the wood. Like eyebrows for a house, these just pull the whole look together :) Such a great price for a pair as well.

I ordered shutters for 3 windows, 2 of which were the same size. The off the shelf dimensions were correct for my windows . . . Convenient! The shutters look great. The only issue I found was that one of the shutters had a heavier coat of stain the other two. Fixed by lightening color via acetone
