I used this to lock the basement door from the upstairs, to keep the kids from going down there. It works just fine, I would not recommend this on an exterior door or as a main source of security as it just isn’t designed for that. But as a replacement for an indoor lock or to keep a room off limits from kids, works great.

Since I had trouble finding this type of lock, I would recommend it for the low price. Quality, however is a little lacking. I recommend when installing the bolt on the door, first place a screw through its hole in bolt and ream it with a phillips bit drill to wear down the opening a bit, otherwise the slide may catch, as mine did. Once I did this it worked much better.
