AP810 - as a sand filter

While some fine sand may get through after more than 6 months of filtering, the AP810 performs better than any other flyer I have tried.

I have been buying this filter for quite a few years and I have never had a problem with the filter doing what it's supposed to do - filter my well water to make it usable for day to day living.

Easy to change

Crystal clear water!

We have been using Aqua Pure 810 filters for many years. Happy with quality but cranky about price. We go thru them fast because our well is loaded with iron. So during the recent shortage, we had to swithc to a “similar” filter. 3 filers for the same price as one of these. But after only a couple weeks, the water was peach colored. And by a month we might as well have been using nothing! The money we saved ended up paying for bottled drinking water.

My previous review was for the Neo Pure MBGC-45098-05 filter, that I bought to replace the AP-810. I've used the AP-810 filters for about 20 years now, with no problems at all. I'm expecting similar results from the Neo Pure filters.

Expensive But Worth It

There are cheaper filters out there, but I've found the 3M product lasts about twice as long as the competition, due to the increased groove depths which increases the surface area of the filter. Prices from Supply House were lower any other place I found, and when I ordered three of them, the ground shipping was free. Supply House processed my order the same afternoon I placed it, and by a miracle of logistics my ground delivery arrived the next day. Can't beat that.

Didn't last long

When I first installed this filter it removed all the iron as I'm on a well and have a lot of iron in the well water. The commode bowl is the indicator and for the first few weeks I could tell the filter was working because of no iron in commode. Now, after approximately 3 weeks of use I'm now seeing an accumulation of iron again indicating the filter is failing already. I have 2 filters in line, a 5 micron carbon filter, then this filter. I'll have to look for a different filter again.

Works

This filter was in use for at least 6 months. It captured a significant amount of sand and grit, at least half a cup plus what was stuck in the filter itself before significantly reducing flow. I replaced it with another and am ordering 4 more. Private well, 8 kitchens, 16 bathrooms.

THE BEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE

The 3M FILTER is more effective than the generic brands. 3M is the original equipment manufacturer of the sediment filter and have alway had the only high quality filters that will last for more than 2-3 weeks in our system. It is the BEST!

does a good job of filtering fines and silt in water supply, easy to remove and replace.

very easy to install, be careful when tightening back filter housing after installation, in my case there was a little leak of a few drops of water but stopped after a few hours. The housing will tighten and then stop, do not try and force it past this stopped point.

Great service and value

I was pricing whole house filters for our new water softener and found the best value for original 3M filters with allfilter.com! They also carry an identical filter from a different manufacturer for a much better price. After talking with my plumber I will be ordering the other brand in the future. Easy ordering process and very prompt delivery. I will not be looking elsewhere in the future.

This is the only filter you should use! The copycat model others sell is far inferior to this one. Do yourself a favor and get one. Lasts longer and works better. Youre welcome!
