Looks good; easy install

Bought this new hood for my kitchen renovation and remodel to replace the old one that was from the 90's. Fan and filter does a decent job at pulling up and filtering the air before pumping it back into the kitchen. And as a tinkerer myself this hood could easily be converted into a filtered ducted hood with a little creativity and a 3d printer or simple tinkerer skills. For the price I would recommend this hood.

Looks Nice BUT Extremely Cheap Materials

While this looks nice, it is made of very cheap materials: thin metal and some plastic; the fan is weak even at high speed; don't accidentally hit it with anything in the kitchen, it will dent/scratch very easily due to the thin metal

Incapable help!!!!

We have been dealing with you since we moved here in 2019. Now we are extremely disappointed in you because of your workers. We have been trying to get our new range hood installed for over a month. Twice workers from your store have come to our home but have yet to do any work. We continue to buy what they suggest but still “No work!!!” You really need to get some people who want and know how to work!!!

Stainless range vent hood

This product is very lightweight and we had no issue installing it. The cost was very reasonable and I'd definitely recommend it.The one we got did not vent above the roof. It does have a fan, but only pulls heat from the range top and sends it out into the room.

Looks the part, but sucks for not sucking.

I was excited to get this stainless looking ductless range hood to replace my 20 year old Broan white and grimey old unit. The old unit worked fine but we are updating the kitchen colors so this looked like a similar replacement. Removal and Installation was identical to the old unit, using the same mounting holes. Installation gets a plus. What I do not like is the fan on high or low does not suck any steam or smoke from the stove top. This was the only job you have to do and it doesn't work. The fan is so weak it is restricted by the grill vents and filter. This is rated at 210cfm but I doubt it is close to 70cfm with the poor airflow. With the filter off and fan on, you can actually feel more restricted air coming back out the fan side then the grill above. This is a horrible design and does not do what it is supposed to do. Broan, you have to have a stronger motor or better fan blades to push the air more efficiently. My recommendation is find something else with better air flow and less restrictions.

One more thing on the cheap build quality

Both switches are so loose in the sockets they shift and rattle from side to side when operating. It feels like a cheap toy. The cut outs are too big for the switches. Fix this Broan, this unit doesn't move air properly and doesn't do what it should.

Easy Install

We bought this to replace an older white one (I believe it was basically the same model. The stainless is a nice update to the look and our range hood now matches the rest of the kitchen. It took us longer to locate which breaker to turn off than it did for my husband to install it. Very happy!

Broan ductless Stainless Steel

I have been recently renovating my new condo and in the existing space I had a white Broan hood range. The previous owners really used it, you can tell because of the heavy grime. I was happy to find that they still sell these things and switching it out was flawless. I also bought a stainless steel plate to put underneath. Looks great.

30 in Ductless SS under cabinet range hood

When we bought our house, there was an old broken air vent were a stove once was. It was working but noisy with broken switches. I had replaced a vent with this Broan vent in another house and loved it. So found it again for a second time. It looks beautiful! Clean, high end yet priced right, it is efficient and quiet and has made a great addition to an area that is being reconstructed by Lowe’s. Love it.

Easy to Install & Works Good!

Replaced my old ductless vent hood two weeks ago with new Braun model. The 30-inch fit like a glove. Was easy to install. Could come with longer screws for the under-cabinet mount design. It came with 4 short screws, but the bottom of my cabinets are recessed and need longer screws. I just reused the screws from the old vent hood and they worked with no problem. The vent hood exhaust fan runs good with normal noise level.

Nice for the price

I had to buy this product because I had previously purchased a stove/refrigerator/microwave combo from Lowes. I had to delay delivery twice because the contractors who were doing renovations on the house were running behind schedule. When they finally got around to doing the kitchen they informed me that the microwave would not fit in the space available between the top of the stove and the bottom of the cabinets. They suggested we go with a range hood instead. I purchased this one which is very nice, functional, inexpensive, and matches the stainless appearance of the combo. I was however very UNHAPPY that Lowes would not let me return the microwave because all of the contractor delays had pushed out beyond 30 days from date of purchase. Am I the only guy on the planet that this has happened to? I don't think I will ever be buying large appliances at Lowes again.

Looks nice but seems cheap

Purchased this model to match our new stainless steel appliances. The previous model was white and probably 10-15 years old-yet I feel the old model was much nicer. The old model had two large filters and a bigger fan - this one only has a single filter and a small fan. The fan doesn’t seem to pull as much as our previous model. Also the old model had two lights which pointed straight down that illuminated the stove top evenly, this new one has a single sideways facing light that illuminates unevenly. The biggest issue however came with installation. One of the holes to secure this unit under the cabinet is directly behind the wired light switch and impossible to reach to put a screw in. I had to make new holes in the unit in order to secure it. The other issue is this unit is not as tall as our previous one meaning it doesn’t touch the backsplash. The measurements I read before purchasing focused on length and width and I thought there must be a universal height. Be sure to get this measurement as well! The positive is the stainless steel look matches our new appliances and it functions.

First, this hood looks fantastic. I upgraded all the appliances in a rental apartment to stainless steel, and this fits right in. It works great, is quiet, and the price was incredibly reasonable. I took off one star because it is tricky to install. In theory, there are keyhole slots, so you should be able to put the mounting screws in pace in the cabinet, and then slide the hood on and tighten the screws down. In practice, my cabinets, like pretty much all cabinets I have ever seen, have a 1" deep lip around the edges on the underside. That means the provided screws are not long enough to reach the bottom of the cabinet itself, since the hood is pressed up against the lip. Also there is no template provided, so it would take some pretty exact measuring to preset the screws in all four corners. In the end, I just had someone hold the hood in place, and used some longer screws to just zip into the underside of the cabinet body. It's a little hard to reach up and over the stove to get the screw gun angled correctly, so it was a bit frustrating, but I was able to finish up in about 20 minutes. Highly recommended product, just know that the installation might take some finessing.

Bought this to replace our 25 year old, worn out almond colored range hood. The stainless steel on this is very nice. The fan is quiet on both low and high speed, and can accommodate a very bright lightbulb. I wish it had a high and low setting for the light, but almost all hoods these days just have one brightness setting. Oh well. I will point out that this hood is meant to be direct wired into the house. My old one plugged into an outlet, so I had to buy a cord kit. No big deal, and everything went together smoothly. Made in USA.

I've been meaning to replace my range hood for quite some time and am SO GLAD I finally did. I had been living with an old mustard yellow colored hood from the 1970's that never got updated when I replaced the matching stove a few years ago. It was still working, but the fan was SO loud! I finally decided to take on the project of replacing it and found this hood. The install was relatively painless considering I've never installed something like this before. The instructions were slightly confusing to me at a couple points, but I looked up a video on YouTube to supplement it and was able to install within a couple of hours. The worst parts of the process were trying to get the stuck screws out of the old one, and then trying to drill this one in to place since the surface I was installing to was not completely level, and I didn't have any help to hold it in position. (If you can get help holding it up while installing, I'd highly recommend it!) But once I got it installed I was so pleased! It's nice and quiet, the light is bright, and it looks great. The few people I showed were surprised that it was such a reasonable price too! I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't replace it much sooner! :-)

So I moved into an old house wish a partially functioning kitchen. It took me the better part of a day to de-grease the entire kitchen, even the inside of the cabinets, from decades of the prior owner cooking greasy stuff in the kitchen without a hood. I decided I would never cook a grease generating type of food until I had a range hood, but what to do?

Great looking range hood, and not too expensive! This is easy to replace on your own. Here are the steps I took:1: turn power off at breaker box, make sure you are certain power is off before proceeding. 2: unscrew little black screw holding metal cover that the light wires come out of to expose wires 3: on old unit, unscrew wiring nuts on white, black wires and loosen ground screw 4: loosen four screws under cabinet holding old vent in place, move old unit aside 5: on new unit use flathead screw driver to bend out wiring plug on the hole wiring will pass through- just insert screw driver and rock back and forth until it pops loose. Look at the old unit to find which one to remove 6: hang unit by four screws in corner (see my photo) 7: hook wiring up just like your old one, white to white, black to black, etc. 8. Screw wiring cover in place with one black screw 9: installold light bulb (I used the one from my old unit. 10: turn power on and test unit, both fan and light. 11: step back and marvel at how much money you saved by doing it yourself, and revel in the praise from your spouse or significant other.

More like 4.5 stars. Simple, pretty, light, and fairly easy to install. We really wanted a nice ducted system, but I just lost gumption and didn't want to fork out $700 for a low-end ducted system. This is a great lazy, cost-conscious choice. We use it ductless. Relatively quiet. Almost wish the high setting were a little more powerful, but it's good for pulling most of the steam and smoke up. Make sure it's not much more than 24 inches above the stove. It doesn't come with a plug, so you either have to hardwire it (that's where installation could get tricky, especially if you had to re-route wires), or get a pigtail plug like I did. A pigtail is a like an extension cord with a three-pronged plug at one end and 3 wires at the other end to connect to the hood wires (black, white, and ground). Then you can just plug it into an outlet instead of hardwiring--which also means drilling a 1-inch hole into the shelf you're going to attach the hood to so that the wire can come through.

Excellent Economy stainless steel hood

This is nice looking upgrade from an old painted economy hood to one that looks great and will match any colour stove you set under it. This vent hood is the standard reliable time tested two toggle switch design and it is stamped 100% the same dimensions as the 25+ year old Kenmore (Broan, re-badged) painted unit I am replacing. The finish on the rolled stainless steel is clean, scratch free and has an even horizontal fine brushed pattern on all exposed surfaces except for the inside top that is black. It arrives with a piece of plastic wrapping the front edge so you don't scratch it while mounting it. The four mounting holes as well as the rear and top electrical knock outs are in the exact same locations as the old unit and I was able to hang it using the existing screws and then back them out one a time and change them for the new #2 Phillips head screws with an oversized head. The hood does not come with the two required orange 14 gauge wiring nuts, so you will need to reuse the existing nuts or provide them for a new installation. The filter, lamp socket and switch design are exactly the same with firm black toggle switches and a fan motor that is loud and works great on high and is quiet and not so effective on low. The lamp is rated for a 75 watt incandescent lamp and the cover has room to fit the larger size 150 watt equivalent warm LED bulb that I used instead to really light things up on the stove.
