This hood started a fire in our attic.

The vent hood worked fine but then we had a fire in our attic that originated from the hood. The fire departments investigation showed that the electrical connections within the hood were not fully plugged in, which caused arcing and a fire. Considering the wiring in the back of the convection oven did the same thing had to be replaced I would steer clear of these products.

ZLINE Kitchen convertible vent

Great product. Installation was not complicated. It adapts to a workable range of applications/sizes. I did not need to vent it. They sell a decorative cap. You can order carbon filters as well. The dual fans has several speeds. The higher speed is not that loud. They lower speeds are quiet. The stainless steel look makes the kitchen pop. It's been in service for over a year. The LED lamps provide a nice addition to it sleek appearance. ZLINE has done an incredible job in R&D. I expected some cutting to fit it in. It was not necessary.

The perfect package for us

How I came to selecting this Company and Appliance package is kind of relevant. Our previous Range by a well known manufacturer was considerably more expensive, about the same size and had fancy display... Great while it lasted. Unfortunately, the microprocessor chip on the controlee panel went bad. Not covered by warranty, replacement board not available, sent off for repair to two different repair facilities both returned unable to acquire the "microprocessor chip".

Amazing ZLINE Package

I absolutely love my new ZLINE appliances. I bought this appliance package from Premium Home Source about 4 months ago and waited until I got a chance to use them before writing my review. They look beautiful; clean lines, and they all match beautifully. The quality is excellent. I was nervous about making such a big purchase on line but couldn't come close to the price locally. After reading the reviews on Premium Home Source, I had the confidence I needed to make the purchase. I highly recommend both Premium Home Source and ZLINE appliances. The appliances were delivered when promised in excellent condition for a fantastic price.

This hood vent was installed by my contractor. So far, no odors can be detected throughout the house, after having cooked foods, even fish. The motor is loud, so beyond the 1st level (there are 4) you can really hear it. But I rather have the sounds (temporary while in operation), rather than lingering smells! I like the fact that the lights are mounted at the back of the appliance, which tends to be the place that is darkest on the cooktop. However, an added feature of this fixture, is that the lights can be adjusted and directed to any location on the cooktop. This is a definite plus. The hood looks wonderful above my cook top. But keep your fingers off the vent, and carefully depress buttons to operate, as fingerprints can be easily left on the stainless steel. I would recommend this range hood vent as it is powerful and does the job.
