Excellent file cabinet!

I bought one of these cabinets about 8 months ago (and I ordered another one a few minutes ago). Every feature was exactly as advertised. This cabinet allows you to store quite a bit (in an organized fashion) in a relatively small amount of space. The color of my cabinet (putty) is what I expected--it's the right color for the room it's in.

HON 310 File Cabinet

terrible quality

File cabinet is super flimsy. sides and front were dented inside the shipping packaging. You may as well buy something cheap, because you're not getting quality here.

Not best material, damaged during shipping.

Not the sturdiest material. I had one delivered to me in a box that appeared well packaged but once I opened it realized it was extremely damaged and not usable at all. I returned it and tried purchasing a second time but to my disappointment it arrived with a dent on the side. I ended up keeping it because at least this one was usable and didn't want to go through hassle of returning a second time.

Arrived dented, not as sturdy as I hoped

Despite some disappointment, it will do the job. The dent is at the bottom, and at first prevented the bottom drawer from functioning. Egad, I thought, how will I return this monster? Then, with some jiggering while someone else tilted the whole unit, I was able to pop the bottom drawer loose. So, I can say that I will keep it, and it will serve its purpose just fine. But I would not buy it again.

Sturdy File Cabinet

Very pleased with this file cabinet. It is very sturdy. The drawers glide smoothly. Nice capacity. Good appearance. Just what I needed.

HON Quality as Expected

This cabinet is commercial quality and built to last. It is very heavy with smooth working drawers. Well worth the cost over other manufaturers.

Great purchase

I visited the store to compare the products, and in my opinion, there was no comparison - HON was the only file cabinet I would consider purchasing. The store doesn't usually stock 5-drawer file cabinets, so I ordered on line. The entire process was smooth - from placing the order - to (free) home delivery four days later. The file cabinet was in perfect condition and the deliveryman was extremely helpful - offering to take it right into my home office. Best of all - it was made in the USA! I would definitely recommend this product to friends and coworkers.

HON 310 Series 5-Drawer Letter File, Black

I purchased this file cabinet the end of Dec 2015 and the product was delivered to my office Jan 2016. When I opened the box the file cabinet came in, the file cabinet was dented on the right side. I was of course disappointed so I contacted Office Depot for assistance. Michael Grogan, their ECommerce Support worked with me to ensure complete satisfaction. In less than a week, he redelivered another file cabinet to me and took the damaged cabinet back the same day. This product is heavy duty and solid. The five drawers gives me the extra storage space vertically without infringing on my horizontal space. I really liked the way Office Depot stood behind their product. Outstanding service, outstanding product. I would purchase another one the same if I need another one.

Excellent Quality

These HON vertical files are superior in quality to others I have had over the years. The handle and thumb latch are solid and feel comfortable to the hand. The construction is heavy and solid. Drawers extend smoothly every time. Great product!

This filing cabinet is well designed

My old filing cabinets require the addition of drawer inserts to hold the file folders. This new cabinet is made to not need them. It saved money and the trouble of putting together the contraption. A much better design.

Works very well and has great capacity.

I bought a HON file cabinet several years ago and was very pleased with it. This one's quality doesn't seem quite as good, but still quite acceptable. I think overall HON makes a very good, sturdy file cabinet. I love the movable glide that helps the files stay in place.

5 Drawer file cabinet

The filing cabinets are great but apparently we did not check the specs close enough and the drawers are 1 1/2 inches shorter than I wanted....my fault but a bit frustrating. My recommendation is to always measure twice to make sure you get what you want.

Tall file cabinet

This is the size we absolutely have to have in our office. It's feels a little light, but the ones we've gotten before have stood up well to the regular office abuse we put them through and still work perfectly well. The adjuster in the drawers can be a little finicky about moving back and forth; I wish they were easier to adjust. They tend to just move on one side and hang up if you don't baby them. All in all, a good product for the money.

Great Item

I purchased 2 of them and put them on Hirsh cabinet mobile dollies so I could move them around easily. Love the cabinets. I don't have to use "hanging" files which I consider a waste of trees, time and money. There is a plate in back that moves forward which holds the folders upright. In the drawers I don't have a lot of files, I use the back for office supplies. Lots of room.
