I want to start this out by saying we currently had an under mount 32 in. x 18 in. with two sink bowls with a depth of 7 inches. This was just fine for a sink but didn’t allow for any pots/pans of any size to fit inside. The amount of water that ended up on the counters after every meal from clean-up was frustrating to say the least. We wanted a single bowl that would allow for the larger pieces and would get low enough to rinse without spraying the tops of the counters. I had looked at various sinks for months and felt good about the amount of time I invested in researching all the choices in sink world. But we finally settled on the Design House 18-Gauge Stainless Steel 32 in. x 18 in. Single Bowl Undermount Kitchen Sink (Model# 110015). It is deep, squared off and fits right back where the old one came out. This next part is just FYI for the installation process. I took out the builder grade twin sink without any problems at all. The reinstall was a bit more challenging just because of the overall size difference. Not a problem but the need for planning. The double sink was shallow and the sides were rounded where the Design House sink is squared off and deep. After a bit of cutting of the corner moldings that the old sink rested on, it slide in with a breeze. I used pure silicon to seat the sink for waterproofing, along with the brackets to secure it firmly to the countertop. The counter opening was okay for the 7 in. sink but it did require some maneuvering to get the new sink in. I say this because we have an R/O system under the sink area and we had to remove that to enable getting the larger/deeper sink into the space. Also, reducing from two sink bowls to one took a small amount of reorganizing of the PVC drains and trash disposal, but surprisingly that didn’t take much modification. Its just a warning for the DIY’s to really look at the plumbing and size are for rearrangement when reducing from two to one drain. Once completed I was very pleased with the feel, look and depth of the Design House sink. It really shines and my wife is very pleased with the amount of room and ease of use of the single verses the double sink setup. I would suggest getting a sink grid also to go with this unit to keep the shine and surface from scratches, those come really fast and really take away from the look. I ordered the Crosstown 29.25 in. x 16.25 in. Bottom Grid for Kitchen Sink in Stainless Steel for about $50 from HD.

This undermount sink is a very attractive sink. My preference is to single bowl rather than double, so I am biased to begin with. One thing that would make this sink a bit better would be a greater amount of sound deadening for the large panels. As is, tapping on the sink results in a resonance that could be dulled with more sound deadening. But this is a small complaint, and if it is not something that would bother you, then this is a rather nice sink.
