Great look!

I loved the look of this hood, seems to work well, lights have two choices, easy to remove the grids for maintenance.

[Rewarded Review] Disappointing and very noisy for a $1700 plus hood

Its too loud on any settings beyond the 1st fan speed. I bought Bosch after owning a Bosch 800 series dishwasher and just fell in love with it and though all Bosch appliances would be quiet. But this hood was a great disappointment from the beginning. If I wanted a loud hood, I would have easily got one for less than $500, didn't have to buy this one.The clean grease filter indicator never goes away, I first cleaned the filters in my Bosch dishwasher after just 2 weeks of use. I have not been able to get the indicator to go away even after washing several times in dishwasher and even hand washing with a brush after soaking in hot water.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014 and installed a 35.25"-wide Bosch DKE9465MUC above our new Bosch 5-burner range. (The spark-ignitor on the front-left burner came loose soon after installation and does not work properly, but that is a separate topic).

The unit is very noisy. I'd expected something more sophisticated from a company like Bosch. The built in lights are halogen, which produces a lot of heat. LED is the way to go and that's what we can expect these days. The only positive aspect is the design/style, which we like.

Sleek design in stainless steel, very powerful hood, however it comes with a price of some inevitable noise, Easy and straightforward installation process, nice features like the light. Hood definitely worth its price

Moderately easy to install. Functionally a five star product; LED w two levels really helps the cooking task and the vent is efficient as well. Sound levels are like most Hoods so don't expect a wisper.

My previous hood was 1950's era (I think). It did very little and was a pain to clean. In comparison, this new hood is a dream. I love that I can put the screens in the dishwasher. On full power this hood is noisy but does a great job of taking smoke, moisture and grease out of the air. So far I haven't set off the smoke alarm once.

Purchased the unit in 2017, wife used for ~1hr/wk. It functioned well (but very loud). In July 2021, suddenly, the unit stopped working. Motor needs replacement. Cost of part & labor is $800. Bosch doesn't stand behind their brand. I am ready to throw this junk out of my house

Bosch dosn't stand behind their brand as I contacted them to at least provide the repalcement part; but, they refused to do that. Ready to throw this junk out of my kitchen and replace it by another brand

Great Looks but Unreliable

Purchased the unit in 2017. Lightly used it for average 1hr/wk. In July 2021, suddenly, the motor stopped working. Contacted Bosch customer service to at least provide free part replacement. They dragged me for over than 2 months to at last, denied any responsibility. Apparently, I got a lemon with very poor manufacturing and assembly quality. Currently facing a $800 cost of parts & labor. Ready to throw this junk out of my kitchen and replace it by another brand

The fan works very well. My only criticisum is that I would have liked to have been able to use the hood lighting from time to time as a night light. Unfortunately, we can't because if the lights are on for any long length of time the hood becomes extremely hot.

To start, the hood was easy to install and was adjustable to what is considered a low ceiling in today's kitchens! It's classy and from a style perspective fits right in. The fan is quiet and the lights are bright...a total bonus!

Timer function does, bad filter design

Less than 3 years ago, I fitted my new kitchen with mostly Bosch appliances because of their reputation for quality, and took out extended warranty on 3 of the five items. I didn't think the warming drawer or chimney extractor fan would malfunction if they worked fine for the first covered year. I was wrong. The timer function on the hood that I had come to rely on just stopped working after 2 ½ yrs. (apparently a 'mother board' issue). We have not had it fixed because of the high cost of parts and service. The fan still works. However the metal filters are badly designed. When you release the catch they come flying down and hit the surface below very hard. (Unfortunately hitting my induction top and marking it), it happened again to my wife as I didn't warn her in time. Just bad design for releasing the filter units. Unfortunately the wall mount oven has also stopped working now. It may also be a motherboard issue. At least we paid for extended warranty on the oven. We decided to call Bosch to see if they would help us, at least for the cost of the part for the chimney fan. They refused to help in ANY way. Legally fine but questionable whether they are being fair and customer oriented. They obviously will not stand by their product even when it has been used gently and by a good Bosch customer. I am quite taken back. We have, to this point been proud of our Bosch kitchen and have shown it proudly. Now I am more than hesitant to recommend Bosch, and if you do buy Bosch, get all the warranties you can, because you will more than likely need them. The Bosch focus on Quality product and service are very much in decline.

Very Strong

From the materials, design, function, and even the install instructions. You can tell this a well thought through piece. The steel is thick, the controls a very simple: 5 fan speeds, two lighting levels, and a kitchen timer. The flat deck is great for showing more of that backsplash/wall tile. Very modern and timeless.
