Excellent led light

Installed two dozen of these lights over 8 years ago. On an average of 12 to 16 hours a day. Have only needed to replace one.

LED lighting has come a long way since its inception. These retrofits are EXCELLENT! They possess all the options available. They take the guesswork out of converting from incandescent or halogen to LED.

2 out of 10 lights flicker from time to time....

2 out of 10 lights flicker from time to time. Not sure why. It is a brand new home with new wiring, new connections, new fittings, etc. Also the light holder is not deep enough and sits shallow to the surface of the ceiling, so it causes quite a glare even though they're only (10.3W). The previous ones, though brighter (13W), were embedded deeper into the metal casing, hence no glare. The only reason I replaced the original ones is because they were warm white and we wanted daylight. Not very happy with the purchase.

These are great lights to replace our old incandescent as well as CFL bulbs. It looks great after install and we love the daylight color. With them being dimmable, that makes them even better. They are great for the smaller 4 inch cans.

I purchased a standard 4 inch "can" to mount this light in. I also installed a dimmer switch and had to run additional wiring to hook everything up. I am quite pleased with the results. The fact that it is a LED light is a big plus for me. It should last longer and use less electricity than standard bulbs, not to mention the brightness. I am slowly switching all my lights over to LED.

Using this retrofit kit definitely saves time over replacing a complete fixture if what you want is an integrated led fixture. It's more expensive that just using an LED bulb in your old fixture, but then with this you have the advantage of having a nice cover so your not seeing the bulb itself. Not a bad way to go if this is what you want. Well made, easy to install by just screwing in the adapter then push fit the light into the existing fixture. The diameter of the fixture is 5 " so it would probably fit in most existing recessed fixtures even if they are wider than that at the bottom, it just may be recessed slightly .And I love the brighter light of the 5000 K, especially in a bathroom or kitchen. A great way to spruce up your old ceiling lights, at a good price too !

The product comes with all the necessary installation adaptors so it fits nicely into the space. Unfortunately for me, the light it replaces is much larger and the trim doesn't cover the hole. I wanted this for our shower, because the remodeler put in a warm 2700 degree K LED in the shower and all the rest of the lights in the bathroom are daylight. Since this is a daylight LED, I thought it would work great, since it is the same style, etc. At this point, I am still trying to figure out a way to make it work because, while being smaller, it is the same style as my current light. As to how easy it is to install, outside of the bezel problem, it should only take a few minutes to install. Just pull the old light out, screw in the adaptor, and snap the new one in. It is a quality product. But, I would recommend measuring your current fixture to make sure this one will fit.

This 4 inch 75 watts equivalent recessed light is bright with its 775 lumens at a 5000k daylight color. The best thing about the light is that it dimms. and it only uses 10.3 watts. The construction is made of aluminum and it is sealed in front and back. It is easy to install, just unscrew the old light off and screw this one on. Push into place and that is all. It does not feel like high quality but looks like it is.

I have grabbed a few of these to bring more usable light into my workshop. I have easy access to the top side of the ceiling so the install was easy as pie. Blast a hole up with a jab saw, pop the light in and then wire it up from the attic. I imagine if I was using these to replace older lights, the install would be just as easy. They put out good light and don't seem to get hot.
