Defective manufacturing
My shelves came with 7 beams of proper length and 1 beam 1" short. Everything about the short beam was normal except it was too short and would not clip into the posts. Some pieces also needed to be straightend to fit. I ended up adding a metal brace and making it work because I had no chance of getting the 200lbs of stuff back in the box and back to Home Depot. Home Depot/Husky needs to vet their manufacturers better, as this was clearly defective manufacturing.
Absolutely a great purchase. I am a 72 yr old woman, that put these together in a short time. I bought 2..
Almost perfect
I am replacing some home-built wooden shelves in my garage. Purchased 3 of these units to line one wall. Assembling the main frame was relatively easy as I had another person helping me. Only one main support needed a bit of work with a flat-head screwdriver to open the flange enough to fit. The worst part of this package, and the main reason why I could not give it a 5-star review, was the totally useless cross-supports. They don't fit. Loose and wobbly, the metal grid that forms the shelf does not lay flat on top of them, or sits to one side of the cross piece so that when you place a container on them, the shelf lifts up and shifts to the side. My only option to correct this problem was to buy some 1x4 lumber, cut it to fit across the gap and screw it into the framing. For the cost, the design should have been better, could have been better. This was the manufacturer cutting costs to maximize profit. Very disappointed with the final result. And I am actually thinking of using 1/2 plywood shelving instead of the metal grid.
Works great for what we needed. It's nice that it is "steel." The only thing was I thought the powder coating was a bit poor. I shouldn't be able to scratch it off that easily. One of the cross bars got a little wedged and scraped some off. Other than that, it looks good and works good. We'll have it for a long time.
Takes 2 men and a boy to put together
It works, but just does.
No tools needed for installation. Went up quickly. Holds all our stuff.
It matched perfectly to the same unit we bought 5 years ago.
Easy to assemble. Quality heavy duty construction.
Very well built shelf, matches the other gladiator cabinets I have.
The shelves are beefy and strong. We put them together with only a hammer to lock the shelves down. Although heavy, the units were simple to put together. Love the organization of our garage!
