Like Most Wire Shelves

Assembly required. This is similar to every shelf I've bought from other places. There's plastic rings the shelves sit over. It takes about 10 minutes to assemble if you're alone and a bit slow.

Use for shed/garage storage

It's easy to put together. I got this as a quick fix for an indoor shelving issue, but it really does need to be used in a different capacity. The shelving heights are easy to control and the shelves themselves are nice and deep. It also is sturdy and doesn't wobble or feel like it's going to tip over. I am using it for more lightweight items, not sure if it would be the same putting tools or paint cans on it. It is a "working" shelving unit and not pretty for indoors.

Easy to construct with such clear and detailed instructions . I love the white color as well, it really brightens up my Art Studio. I especially love the solidness of the construction! I would highly recommend this product.

I shopped around for a tall wire shelf that wasn't so deep, these are being used in the basement and the space is tight. So these fit the bill, and they are affordable. I wanted 2 more shelves to buy, manufacturer said they didn't have any so had to buy another entire shelving unit and throw away the poles. Manufacturer should offer parts like extra shelves etc.

Shelving clips DO work!! Very happy with purchase!

I bought this item through another vendor and I just wanted to say that although it seems like the clips are not going to fit together sufficiently to hold the shelves, they actually DO work. I have two of these 5-shelf units and filled up all the shelves with canned goods, paper goods, storage containers, laundry soap, etc., and have had no slippage or concerns. It pays to shop around, there are good prices on this site and sometimes better than other vendors. (I'm looking at purchasing more for a family member and the add-on wheels are a good price on this site.)

Clips don’t fit

I bought this and it said no tools required for assembly. The clips that are with it will not lock together and the shelves fall because the clips won’t hold the shelves up because they won’t clip together. The poles are too big for the clips.

These black shelf units look nice when they are put together (got 8 units). All of the parts were there and it took me around a half hour to put each unit together. (Make sure to follow the instructions and that the lip edge of the shelf is facing down.) I had done a lot of looking around but found these to be the best in terms of looks, utility, and price. I would definitely recommend this product.

Great Buy!

Great buy! Bought these for storage in garage. Holds plenty of weight, sturdy and easy to assemble! Price was right as well! Bought 2 for less than half the price of comparable shelving!

Could be sturdier

Not as sturdy as I would have wanted... It flexed a bit more than most metal shelves I worked with and the clips would continually come open. I've been somewhat satisfied as it won't have to take too much weight. So, it will do the medium weight to light weight job it needs to do.

Easy setup

Great product. I thought it might have a little more weight to them, so it is a pretty light metal. But it does hold up well. Placed a full shelf of canned food and held it up nicely. Would recommend looking at getting a shelf liner so smaller items to stand up better otherwise great product!

Not super strong, but good for the price

Wire shelves on posts is a common design sold by many vendors. Some vendors have stronger designed shelves than other brands. These are on the weaker side. It is rated for 200 lbs per shelf, but I wouldn't put that much on these shelves. Another negative is that the top of the post is not threaded to allow adding an extension. But I think you can force thread it and make it work. I bought 6 of these for $77 just a few days ago. Today, they are on sale for $54. Sigh. Okay for the price

Shorter than advertised

This shelf is only 70.5" tall not 72" , I bought 3 different brands of shelves, because I needed 3 different sizes and home depot did not carry them all in one brand. the trinity brand was the best made with thicker wire and more horizontal wire on the shelf which makes sliding things in easier it was also the best price per self area, the hdx brand was thinner and less wires. The "honey do" brand was thinnest and flimsy, would not buy again. Engineering 20% thinner metal it is 40% less strong.

Excellent for my special use of it and a good price altogether too! It was a bit tricky to get the hang of how to assemble it, but pretty easy to do, even for one person, once you get the hang of how it works. The assembly pictures are somewhat inadequate! And it's an unusual method of being held together. But, like I say, it's very satisfactory. I'm using it in two pieces outside, to act as a planter holder for my many flowers...

WRONG SIZE PIECES

I ordered this shelving unit because I had ordered from this company before. The problem with this unit is the plastic pieces that are supposed to clip on to hold the shelves in place do not clip together. I told my husband I would take it back to the store but he was determined to make it work. He and my son put tape around each plastic piece to hold it in place. It was three of us trying to get the darn shelves to click into place. I know Home Depot would have taken it back. They are very good when there’s a problem with something. The shelf is holding up well without any issues but it wasn’t worth the aggravation of having the wrong size pieces included in this box.

PERFECT FOR WHAT WE NEEDED

I purchased this HD steel shelving unit in black to place on the gable end of our 12 foot wide x 18 foot long attic space. Because available wall space is only 8 feet, this unit fits perfectly. The bottom three shelves hold numerous soft-sided luggage and "cooler" [for iced drinks and/or food items] pieces. The first shelf holds an electric foot/leg exerciser plus a floor unit humidifier (used in the winter). The very top shelf holds three "Dy......ap" (didn't know if I could give a brand name) half acre insect traps (used only in the Summer) with space for another one. We are very pleased with the quality of this unit. It was delivered in a reasonable amount of time in perfect condition at a fantastic price point (due to Macy's sale prices and Star Rewards [Star Passes and Star Money]). My husband said it was easy to assemble. FYI: We have another smaller Honey Can Do shelving unit at the other end of our attic space, and it, too, holds numerous smaller Christmas decorations. Less

Regret the purchase

This is the fifth of this type shelving that I have purchased and this is by far the worse. I purchased the others from another source. The plastic pieces that hold the shelves up kept popping off. I'm just hoping they want fall off later and cause the whole unit to collapse. I finally managed to get them all on but this unit is very unstable and could easily topple over. I wish I had not wasted my money. If not for the package costing a fortune to ship back, I would have returned it.

It only took 2 adults a few minutes to set it up. Holds a bunch of stuff! I even added a couple of shower hooks to outside one shelf to hang a broom and mop. Should you do that for heavier items please make sure to fasten it back to a wall, so it won't tip over. I also don't have kids that may climb on it, so I didn't hook it to the wall. You would have to provide your own fastners for that. I will be getting more of these units for other rooms and shop.

Exceeded my expectations. Had originally ordered two. Thinking would be fine for garage organization of smaller and light items. Was so impressed by the versatility and strength that.ordered two more. "hint" use a rubber mallet to 'set' the shelves snugly on the clips. not pounded down, just a one good rap/strike at each leg is enough. Assembly took about fifteen minutes per unit and it's fairly easy to re-adjust the distance between shelves while loading things on the shelving {again, the rubber mallet} Every bit as good as my other storage shelving which originally cost over $50 more per unit. All in all, an excellent product for the money.

EXCELLENT

I have no idea what other peoples problems were, but I put this together EASILY and QUICKLY. I put it together on a flat hard wood floor. When done correctly, we had NO PROBLEMS getting the shelves to stay in position. This shelf system was so secure and so stable that we put delicate stereo equipment on it. Since the directions are just pictures, you can conceivably put this together WRONG and you THEN would have problems with the shelves staying in position, but we did not have that problem. The Honey-Can-Do Web Site also has directions and help. Will buy again, no problem. We have had this shelf system for over a year now.

Practical and good value if on sale

Overall, I don't think you will be too dissatisfied. At first i was skeptical of the plastic clips but once you put the shelves, they do form a nice tight fit and shelves fill solid. Some practice maybe involved to get clips aligned right on all sides but it's doable. The 14 inches will accommodate good size boxes and the height and width of the shelves work nicely for tighter quarters like garages. It's almost perfect. The adjustable legs work nicely for uneven garage floor. I can fit my car and have room to get to shelves. Bought 4 of them, so they cover pretty much the whole wall.
