Much easier than bulbs and trims

Old recessed cans using bulbs and metal trims are a thing of the past. This light has an airtight trim with gasket to prevent leaks. The LEDs with diffuser are built in so there is nothing to line up and set a height. The included pigtail easily screws into the existing can socket and then plugs into the top of the light. The springs can be changed out for clips for different housing types and can fit 5" or 6" cans.

Perfect for our kitchen retrofit

Guidelines suggest having 1000 lumens for task work, but this 710-lumen fixture is bright enough for me. When I first turn on the kitchen lights, these LEDs are too bright until my eyes adjust, and then it’s just what I need. Kit includes standard male E26 base, gasket for between rim and ceiling, and friction blades. Our 20+ year old recessed ceiling cans don’t have the ears for the spring arms, so I used the friction blades. The friction blades were easy to bend out to create a tight fit in the old can. 710 lumens is equivalent to an incandescent bulb of about 55 watts, but it seems brighter to me. The color is 3000 kelvin, which seems white. The fixture should last up to 60,000 hours which is forever in my book. 6 in. Recessed LED Baffle Trim

This is a white ceiling recessed trim replacement that is also integrated with a LED light that screws into to the traditional bulb socket in recessed ceiling fixtures. When I selected this product I was looking for replacement trim that was missing in my daughter’s house she just bought. I was not aware that you can convert traditional recessed ceiling lights to LED, but with this product it is easy to do.

I much prefer these to BR40s

Yes, nayers say why bother as BR40s are all LEDs now and have similar luminance per Watt, dimmable, some color temperature adjustable as well. These slightly more expensive fixtures have 2 distinct advantages over BR40s LED bulbs: 1) They completely seal bulb well or enclosure with included foam flange gasket, so you will not feel draft from the attic in the winter or scream when you see electric bill in August. 2) They live a lot longer than BR40s as electronic circuit board is not squeezed in a tight glass sealed BR40's package near bulb screw but have enough space to cool at the back of the fixture. In addition aluminum flange and stainless steal springs are used as heat radiators. Stainless friction fins are included, if installed they will also help with heat dissipation. Bulbs have 3 luminance settings: 700, 900 and 1100 lm and 4 color temperature settings from 2700K all the way to 5000K. There are also 2 Fresnel baffles included, black for more spotlight look and white for general use. Baffle change tool is included as well. It's very easy to retrofit these bulbs into BR40 enclosures: Just screw-in light bulb socket adapter cable, plug it into the bulb housing, compress mounting springs and insert fixture into the enclosure.
