[Rewarded Review] Sharp and precise
A good blade with a good balance but the handle is a touch too small for an adult man.
be careful..blade is very sharp!
came very sharp..nice and light weight,well-balanced,comfortable handle..first thing i did slicing tomatoes was to slice my thumb open as well! knife is extremely sharp!
[Rewarded Review] Great knife
This is a well balanced knife that cuts beautifully.
This was the knife that started my Wusthof collection about seven years ago, and it remains the most used and favorite among my now four total Wusthof knives. I am a woman with small hands and find the 8 to be just a bit unwieldy I have an 8 santoku I rarely use because of the size. Though the 6 cooks knife is easier to wield for me, it is still an incredibly strong, highquality knife with a good weight to it. I also tested highend Japanese knives prior to purchasing the Wusthof and while I found the quality to be just as good, I just prefer the heavier weight of the Wusthof. I use the cooks knife nearly every day to chop onions, peppers, carrots, cucumbers, and cut meat. Its hard to imagine life without it. Since purchasing my first Wusthof, I wont use any other brand. The quality makes food prep so much more efficient and satisfying. Every year I save up for the next to add to my collection. If you have never experienced a highquality steelforged knife in your kitchen, I cant recommend it enough. These knives make food prep so much more efficient and they will stay with me for the rest of my life.
I should probably wait till Ive used it for a month or so, but this knife is just too good a deal not to rave about it. Ive had it now for all of 20 minutes. I tested it on bread I tested it on leftover chuck roast. I even tested it on my finger I just touched the blade to get a sense of how sharp it was and with almost no pressure Im now wearing a bandaid. I know it says Bread Knife but this thing sliced through that cold roast beef like it was butter. The slices looked almost like I went through them in a single slice smooth with only very, very light striations. And bread Like it was born to cut bread which it was. Of course for anyone who has to slice meats, breads and other boneless things, its also about the handle. I have medium large hands. The handle was perfect. I can imagine doing a lot of cutting with this without fatigue or driving my nails into my palm. Given its shape I think it will be comfortable for all but the very smallest hands. It also did not slide around. I ran it under water and then took a slice of my roast beef. No slippage. Yes, I could feel the water but the knife did not slide or slip in my hand against the resistance of the chuck roast. Now the really amazing part This thing is dirt cheap. I paid less than 15.00 for mine, including shipping. List price is around 22.00. Im sure there are better knives out there but nothing comes close within a couple hundred dollars Ive checked. This is not just for the budget conscious, this is one great knife.
I needed to replace a n old bread knife This was an excellent choice. Easily slices through both crusty and soft breads. No more squished bread.
This knife is so good that even my husband loves it. I was looking for a knife to cut round cake. Americas Test Kitchen gave this knife its highest honor as the best serrated knife. Its a must have for my knife collection.
I got this knife last month and it arrived the next day.. Im just amazed at how fast the shipping was As for the knife itself.. My best knife before this one was my 10Inch Zwilling J.A. Henckels Professional S Series Chefs Knife which is an absolute beast and an amazing knife.. But when I got my 8Inch Wsthof Classic Ikon Chefs Knife and had the opportunity to use it a few times.. It quickly became my new favourite as it cuts more smoothly and easier than any of my other knives And keep in mind.. I own quality kitchen knives with an amazing cutting performance.. Wsthofs are truly amazing knives The grip of the knife is very nice and extremely comfortable to hold and it is FREAKING SHARP My favourite knife brands are Wsthof and Zwilling J.A. Henckels What can I say I love German kitchen knives but in all honesty.. Wsthofs have a superior cutting performance due to having a slightly sharper edge and a heavier handle than knives made by Zwilling J.A. Henckels but its no wonder both these brands are worldclass knife makers I love this knife And I would buy it again No regrets Thanks Everten
We have loved our Wusthof knives we received as a generous wedding gift for over 17 years. Several weeks ago a chunk of the handle on a smaller utility knife fell off without dropping or damaging it beforehand. Wusthof customer service was easy to reach and very understanding. They had us send in our knives and determined the handles had a problem covered by their lifetime warranty and replaced them all with new knives So yes, these knives might be more expensive than some, but I see it as an investment as their quality is exceptional and guaranteed for life, and good knives make cooking so much more enjoyable We use this chefs knife the most its manageable for my husbands large hands and my small ones.
These are brilliant knives and we use for much more than simply steak knives. The serrated edge is great for soft fruit and vegetables like tomatoes. I bought my first knife over 10 years ago and after daily use, it was finally getting a bit blunt so Ive purchased more. Highly recommend
My classic 8 had cracks in the handle after 16 years, and sent it in for a warranty claim. Honestly, I didnt believe I would hear from Wusthof, given the typical state of customer service these days. I couldnt believe itin a few days got a credit to buy a new 8and spent a few extra dollars to get the Ikon. So very comfortable use it every day. What a great company
Excellent product. I bought 12 to go with the 12 I bought 20 years ago. They are still going strong but I wanted a reserve supply. I have bought multiples of these knives for family to their delight. Great value. Would not be without them.
I purchased this knife because it was the winner of Americas Test Kitchens equipment review. This knife won the top pick over knifes that cost upward of one hundred dollars. It is a great knife and can handle everything from soft tomatoes to a hard french loaf or splitting a baked cake. I would highly recommend this to the professional or bachelor.
I really, really like my bread knife. It is very sharp and has just the right balance. I would recommend this knife.
We love the Victorinox knife and fork. Brilliant sharp cutlery which weve used for years. Recently purchased them to replace two that were missing from our old set. So glad that our set is complete again and that we were able to purchase single items rather than a a whole new set. The products arrived well packaged and on time. Thank you.
Victorinox knives are the highest quality knife you can get at a reasonable price. They hold their edge and are comfortable to use. They are well balanced and the handles hold up for years. They produce knives for most any use. Professional meat cutters use Victorinox knives to make a living so that tells you the quality, ease of use, durability, and economical factors that contribute to their overall choice. Once you purchase youll buy more of different styles.
Best Knife!
This is my favourite knife. It's actually better than expensive chef knives I've had. For the money, you can't beat it!

Great quality and great price
A great quality versatile kitchen knife that won't break the bank.
I spent a lot of time reviewing knives and reading reviews. I settled on the Classic Ikon models due to how the handles felt in my hands. We have had this knife for about a week and we love it. It is easily the best knife I have ever used. We cut many vegetables everyday and it has been a pleasure to use this knife. I also called Wusthof directly and had a really nice conversation with one of their reps which made me feel good about my upcoming investment. We also purchased the 6 inch serrated utility and the 4 inch paring knife. From what I have been told by some chefs, that is really the only knives we will ever need in the kitchen we dont eat a lot of bread so no need for a bread knife for us. We also purchased a Wusthof block to hold these knives from another retailer and are happy with that too.
