All in all putting this together was very organized and efficient. The only draw back we have is that the last roof tile didn't quite line up so we had to modify it. But it is a very sound building for what we are using it for.
Very well made, with parts easily identified and packaged. Some components were more difficult to fit than the video's showed, but overall not bad. Mine came with one panel damaged, but Home Depot took care of that with some money off. Overall, very happy with the shed.
Quality Shed
I bought this shed to replace the exact same shed I lost during Hurricane Ian. (The shed held up fairly well considering it was a category 5 hurricane, hence why I am buying the same shed - quality product!!) A couple companies sell this shed, but Bed, Bath, & Beyond had the cheapest price with the fastest shipping. The shed was delivered in time. It did take 2 people many hours to build the shed, but it is a quality product that should last us many years!
[Rewarded Review] Excellent Instructions
Assembly manual was written in excellent instructions. Prep work was tedious, but assembly went smooth. We are very satisfied with our purchase.
Lifetime Garden Shed
Just had it recently installed, so it is too early to say how well it was made.
[Rewarded Review] Not perfect but good
I did assemble by myself without any help, it was hard but possible. the doors are aligned but looks like they are bigger than the space they have So i'm struggling to close. I need to call support for it. after having the base done in wood. I took 2 days assembling.
We bought the 8X10 lifetime shed about 10 years and it holds up great! We needed another shed so we bought this one, 8X12 and so far, it went together easy, it's sturdy and we are pleased with our purchase. Most important thing is to ensure your ground is level. The door on this one seems a little off, like possibly too wide but if we close the doors together, it will still do, and we can latch it with something if needed. The first shed we got didn't have this issue. I don't know who or how to reach out with this issue.
The right side door will not fully close. Installed on constructed platform by my professional carpenters. Because it's plastic there is no modification that can be done but doors won't close fully. I'd like someone from Home Depot to see it and replace that door.
We recommend this shed; only one small issue
Good value for the money. We really like the fact that it is maintenance free. We used online video for assembly instructions (instead of the manual). It definitely required two people. The only thing we ran into was that the doors would not close unless closed at the same time; if you closed one and then the other, they would overlap. When closed at the same time, they would pop open. We had to install a slide bolt on the outside of the left door to keep them shut. It doesn’t make sense that this happened; the door hinge (poles) inserted into the gable end piece holes just fine. So it seemed odd that the doors did not work properly. We’d still recommend this shed, despite the door problem; they match up well and look lovely (despite the slide bolt required to keep the doors shut).
The shed was fairly easy to assemble. The walls can be assembled by one person but two make it easier. Especially if there is any wind. Definitely recommend two for the roof. Total assembly time took about 6 hours. There was one error in packaging but Lifetime sent missing piece via overnight shipping.
A good shed. Not great.
A good shed with lots of room but several assembly issues. Very difficult to get the front doors to shut and align properly. My shed was on a perfectly level wooden base and I still haven't got the doors to close properly after following all the instructions for adjustment. Even when closely aligned the latch holes don' line up. I also didn't like the fact that the joints between the wall panels drain all the way down into the floor attachment so water is going to get under the shed (hence the drain holes). I actually used a clear exterior caulking and caulked all the seams and holes at the bottom. Well see how this works. I wanted to order another bag of wall hooks and was told a bag of 5 was about $4.00 (CAD) but shipping was $46.00 (US).....ridiculous. They should include a couple of bags at least for the price
Never a Lifetime shed again. Because of the design of the walls fitting into the floor, we had to Dremel the plastic to make it fit...and that's with both of us hanging on the top. The doors do not and will not align properly. I have a Suncast shed that the wife and me put together in 6 hours. Just the walls on this took 6 hours. The holes are filled with plastic, the parts are not marked well at all. NEVER AGAIN.
Defective Doors, Widespread Issue
I built my shed only to discover like so many others that the doors do not close and are not even close to lining up. The shed is on a level foundation and properly assembled. I have since learned from a professional installer that virtually every one of these sheds that he has built has the same problem with the doors. This is a product defect that Lifetime does not acknowledge. The only solution offered is to stick boards under a corner of the shed to prop up one side. Just shameful Lifetime.
After 3 years it has held up perfectly. I use it as a hot tub room and the only problem I had was assembly. It took the whole family and many hours to get it together. It was worth every penny.
Don’t waste your money
I live in New England. This shed lasted 2 years…. Roof warped, door ripped off hinge while closed at seam during a rain storm. And before you ask- this was built on a level slab and squared properly. Shed was NOT a lifetime product
Great storage shed. We live in WA state where it does rain … It has 100% kept dry with absolutely no leaks. Definitely give yourself a whole day to assemble. Be sure to have a good flat spot for it, otherwise you could have door alignment issues. Would buy again….
Worth the Money
Very sturdy and easy to build. I was able to put it together by myself except for the last corner when putting the main roof panels on. I needed someone to push on the outside corner while the other person put in a few screws. The instructions are easy to follow and I think the design was well thought out. I would definitely recommend this shed.
5 Stars
The shed was really nice. It looks just like the picture. It is very spacious and it was just what we needed. The only thing is that the front of the shed doesn't have enough coverage for the rain to get in. I'm happy with the purchase overall.
WARNING. DO NOT BUY.
The roof plastic panels warp quickly. The plastic roof pitch cracks and leaks. Shed cant handle the Sun. Lifetime does not honor warranty for warped plastic roof panels. Do not buy Lifetime products.
Decent shed with production issues
I ordered this shed due to the abundance of positive reviews out there about it (and because 8x12 was a sweet spot for the size I was looking for). I've built a few other resin sheds before (not from Lifetime) and knew to expect a less than 'smooth' installation.
