Don’t do it!!

This cage is horrible. It came with rust on it but too much of a haste to return so we cleaned off the rust. Then a month into owning it, my BCC got his to caught behind the locking mechanism. Terrible placement on A&e’s part. We hat to remove the lock and rely on the piece that swivels. Lucking our bird isn’t an escape artist. Now 8 months later the paint is chipping off everywhere. It’s even rubbing off where the cage cover ribs on it. What a waste of money. Spare yourself and your bird the paint toxicity and getting its toes caught.

Poorly made

Received very poorly made product. Bought this cage because I heard it’s the best cage you can by. However, after 3 months, we found that the wheel completely snapped off one day. We ended up putting pieces of wood underneath the cage to keep the cage upright. The cage has seldom moved since the day we bought it and nothing happened to warrant the wheel snapping off, especially since it has sat still for many weeks. After closer inspection at the wheel, it looks like it was improperly welded. Customer service did nothing to correct or help the problem despite selling a faulty product. For a cage that supposed to house a bird that lives in more than 30 years to last only three months is highly disappointing and a huge waste of money. Very disappointed with Petco, customer service, and this product.

Defective door that can’t close

Just set this up. I have 4 spring loaded door knobs but one door never had the part that holds the “knob” welded on so the door has no way to close at all. I can’t find replacement doors. Very unhappy with this cage. And with the way they’re set up and welded you can’t switch the doors around but it wouldn’t matter anyway as I can’t put my bird in this cage with a door that can’t shut. As you can see in the pictures one door has the square part and the other doesn’t.

Perfect cage with play top

It is the perfect cage for a medium sized bird. I Housed my Congo African gray baby parrot and he has a lot of space, as we know these birds need more width. I also like that it is not that tall so if he falls off the perch, I am not too worried about serious injuries. It was easy to assemble and looks great! You won’t regret it

Great Cage

This is a very nice cage, well built, rolls smoothly, nice finish. The one thing that I do not like about it is that my bird (African Grey Parrot) can unscrew the nuts that work with the food bowls. They have to be loosened to remove the bowls and then tightened again, to make it just a little more challenging, but certainly not difficult for my Grey to get them off again..... These are on the outside of the cage, so no concern for them getting lost in the bottom of the cage, except when he is on top of the cage and climbing down, getting into trouble, and unscrewing the nut and throwing it on the floor, just to irritate me. So, if you have a less intelligent bird, you shouldn't have a problem finding the unscrewed nuts, since your bird probably won't remove them, just to make you angry and get emotional, which is exactly what they want you to do.

I love this cage! Super safe.

Best cage ever. Super strong and well enforced to protect my bird from 4 big dogs. Each side has a welded frame. No pop in panels. Well worth the money. Much better than other cages.

Play top birdcage

I bought 2 of these for a pair of caiques I adopted. The directions were a little crappy. But the cage went together pretty easily. They seem to really like it a lot. It gives them more room than their old cage and I like the play top for them. I’m very happy with it.

Excellent cage for the money

Bought this cage for my blue fronted amazon who is now 39 years old. She loves it. The directions were a little vague as to which screw/bolt goes where. My wife and I hade it put together in less than an hour. Placed it next to old cage within 2 days curious amazon was all over new cage. Top door is now personal escape door when left open. Very easy to clean. Would definitely recommend...Great value for the money...

Best Cage Ever

This is my "Goffin" Cockatoo (Hopper) - He loves this cage as do I! The play top is perfect - he goes all the way on top of the hanger for his flight in place. The bowls are perfect (not) deep hollows - & the blocker on the bowls is great for those naughty bowl throwers (Like Hopper) the latches he can't undo- Goffins are notorious escape artists & I like the double opening on the door - it was easy to assemble - the trays catch everything & I like that the bars are closer together - his other cages were long - I like that this one is wider Instead - Highly (Highly) rerecommend - Thank U - A&E & Petco

Great cockatiel cage

Cage is as advertised! We have three cockatiels and the cafe is big enough for them all with plenty of room. Now the only negative is the lack of instructions, as noted by other reviewers as well. However, it is easy to figure what screws go where and how parts go together from the picture in the instructions Great cage!

My Conure needed a new house so I tried this one! So glad I did!It gives Moe more room to play and less wasted space below! The width gives him actual play room! My discount from being a previous Dr Foster & Smith customer really helped!

Nice cage

The cage is nice and roomy and well built. The directions are poor but it is very easy to figure out. I like the 2 pull out trays for the top play area and below. My seed skirts came bent and damaged from the shipping but truthfully, I as going to use a seed skirt as I don't want the extra room the metal skirt takes up, I do not like how wide the wood perch is. Other than that, I love the color choices. I went with sandstone which is a true beige color.

[Rewarded Review] Great & sturdy cage!

This cage is great! I saw it at a local aviary & they charge a lot more than Petco. I got it in platinum color because I was told that it hides the poo very well & it’s true. I put the cage together mostly by myself except at the beginning when I needed my husband to help me hold up the big pieces. I’m only 5’3” tall & this cage is on the taller side making it a tiny bit harder for me to clean out the top tray but it’s not anything to complain about.

[Rewarded Review] Decent cage for 1 or 2 medium size birds

I recently got this cage in platinum for my baby sun conure and he loves it. There’s plenty of space for him to roam around. I’m going to try to add a jenday to keep him company. It was a pretty straight forward setup and it looks great! I’m getting another one soon for my white bellied caique, too.

Serviceable but not exceptional

I bought this for a sleep cage for my African Grey parrot. I confess, price was a big factor in my decision and I should allow for that. The company touts that they are a "family company in the US making products", but this cage is made in China and it shows. Firstly, it comes with no usable instructions! You can struggle through the assembly using a photograph, or you can go to Windy City Parrot website and find a great video on how to put together several brands of cages. I have a few issues with the cage, mainly that there are gaps that could possibly cause injury to a curious parrot. If that becomes problematic I'll get rid of it and buy a better constructed cage from another company.

Great cages

Cages were shipped FEDEX and packaging was intact on arrival. Beautiful cages. Supposedly Sandstone (whitish) but have a pink tone that should fade to sand color. I love the pink but some may not. Texture of paint smooth and easy to clean. Wheels sturdy for the weight. Hayneedle did everything right as usual from great product to great shipping service. Everything on time. Cage capacity and bar spacing probably best suited for smaller birds. Quality products used.

African Grey Loves This Cage

Wish I had purchased this stainless steel cage years ago. So much easier to clean and will not rust like my previous cage. Cage arrived in pristine condition. Had a problem with the breeder door latch and Don at A&E cages quickly sent out a replacement door plus a complimentary bird toy. Great customer service from A&E! I was worried about buying an expensive cage without seeing it, however it is perfect. I'm a 62 year old woman and had no trouble putting the cage together by myself, just looked at the diagram. If you're looking for a stainless cage with a play top for medium size bird this is a great buy!

Great cage too bad it was damaged upon arrivial

Bought this cage from Petco, it arrived damaged (bent tray and top) and without one very important locking mechanism. I contacted Petco and the manufacturer asking for an expedited delivery of the missing part, at least. Kind of hard to keep a bird in the cage when it does not lock. It has been one month and still no part replacements, nor contact. Also purchased the same cage from a different vendor, for our 2nd bird and it came to us beautifully. Would definitely recommend if it does not arrive damaged. The size is great, very sturdy, tray is up higher for easy cleaning.

Play top cage is great!

The play top bird cage is great. Light weight, easy to clean large inside with plenty of room for a conure or Grey or cocktoo. Instruction sheet that came along with the 2 boxes was little to NO HELP in putting it together! However, I contacted A & E CAge Company and they walked me through it. The only bad thing was the top panel on top of the cage just sits in a groove it does NOT attach in anyway. A Large bird like a macaw could possibly push it up and escape. Other than that is is a wonderful cage for my 28 year old Conure!
