Perfect Non Stick from first use, best Crepes Ever
Thanks to Uncle Scott Videos, I tried De Buyer Carbon steel pans and finally gave Crepes pan a try! I have been cooling Crepes since my childhood and these are by far the best performing pan for Crepes. They come out Golden brown, just the way my mom used to make them. I am so happy with these pan! My only wish I found them sooner.
Probably the best pan for crepes and omelettes
The pan came with a scratch on it. I didn’t care much about it initially. However after the mandatory first seasoning, the depth of the scratch became more noticeable. Since it doesn’t hinder the overall cooking experience, I decided to roll with it.

I love this pan. After the 1st firing, I've been making pancakes on it with minimal oil, and it's awesome. After time, it has browned beautifully. Even my husband has admitted that it's a really good buy. Ru
Perfect pan if you know what you are getting
I wanted to get experience with carbon steel pan and decided for this low crepe pan (30 bucks for a known brand felt like the right step). The 24cm diameter feels right for my glass-ceramic stove.
De Buyer Mineral B Pan
De Buyer Mineral B Pan is currently performing more than beautifully. Easy to use, easy to clean, pancakes don't stick, I also cook poached eggs on it and it does a great job with it. A really quality acquisition and a great helper in the kitchen. I recommend. (Automatically translated by DeepL)

I highly recommend it. The pancakes don't stick at all and I don't even use oil with every other one. And it goes really fast on it. Very soon the pancake is done due to the fact that the steel retains a high temperature. And the healthiness of the steel is another great benefit. (Automatically translated by DeepL)
Great pan
I can't get enough of the pan. After firing it works great, pancakes from it are perfect. When I use it longer, the handle starts to heat up, but that's to be expected. The pan has a higher weight than I've been used to so far, but personally I'm rather comfortable with it. (Automatically translated by DeepL)

Steel distributes heat evenly, the surface is truly and reliably non-stick, but without the carcinogenic chemicals associated with synthetic non-stick surfaces. Very easy and quick to clean, but follow the instructions to clean it properly. I can't think of a better pancake pan. (Automatically translated by DeepL)
Love it!
We got the 12” size. It seasoned up beautifully, and we have used it so much in the last week since we got it. Made crepes for the first time in years and the non-stick quality is remarkable. The cooked crepe literally slides out of the pan. It’s now my husbands favorite pan and very versatile. I do wish it came with a “pro” or unfinished handle that as I do prefer to be able to season my pans in the oven.
I asked a chef friend
I asked a chef friend how best to replace the Teflon pan. He recommended an iron skillet. The showroom Kulina in Holešovice gave me good advice. Seasoning was successful, the pan does not stick. Only the poached egg sometimes sticks slightly, but it is getting better. Compared to Teflon, the pan requires a little more care, but the feel and quality of frying is incomparable to Teflon! The production of pancakes, pancakes and omelettes has skyrocketed because everyone looks forward to working with it:) (Automatically translated by DeepL)
The 30 cm version is bad
I bought 3 of these pans in different sizes I like them so much. But the 30 cm crepe version is a disaster. I do not know if it would be different on a gas stove but the heating is extremely uneven and heat does not dissipate well. This leads to to uneven cooking which for larger things such as pancakes and omelettes is very bad. Furthermore the steel is thin compared to diameter which means that warping due to thermal expansion makes it even worse. The pan becomes domed and even less surface contact accentuates the issues.
The Best Crepe Pan
I bought this for my partner because I have a few De Buyer skillets and I like them. She loves it so far! In fact, she seasoned it for the first time when I wasn't there to help (with my minimal previous experience) and it turned out well. Watch a couple videos online and you'll do just fine. I get to enjoy some wonderful crepes now!! Worlds better than nonstick options... nice even heat!
Perfect frying pan for crepes
The classical french-style crepes frying pan. Works perfectly, but you need to take care of it properly. It's made of uncoated steel, so you have to season it first (i.e. build a protective layer on the surface of the frying pan), like a non-enameled cast iron pan. It's easy to do; just follow the instructions that come with the frying pan.

It fully met my expectations!-The pan for pancakes 24 cm, corresponds to the width of the heated area (bottom) about 19 cm. Quality product - material and workmanship. Grape seed oil I used for primary processing. Food is tasty, does not burn easily, saves energy. A pleasure to use! I recommend! I will also buy the deeper De Buyer! Very nice little pan
We got the 9.5" version of this for crepes. The ~8" cooking surface gives you a nice sized one. This pan took a bit more time to get used to that some others. Once we got heat levels and burner sizes figured out, it worked very well. A bit more relaxed approach likely would have helped. For Tortilla's a lot depends on the target use. We likely will get a larger version for doing them.
A great pan. As a
A great pan. As a cast iron pan, it needs proper care, but the seasoning builds up quickly and without problems. It has good heat distribution, once warmed up it cooks evenly everywhere. The handle heats up quite a bit after 15-20 minutes of use, I like it, but if you are sensitive to it, you may need gloves. It's hard enough to flip the pancake over, a good flipping paddle is definitely recommended.
pan
Well, after prolonged use, the material still sticks to the pan, even though I try to use grease as a precaution, especially on the middle.I have other pans, Teflon, and there the dough comes off the surface well. so now I use the pan minimally. I'll probably buy a similar pan from another company so I can compare if the fault is on my side. the commercial for your pan is spectacular, the commercials have it anyway. But I'll keep testing it. It's a bit stressful for me if it will work when I have to work with it. (Automatically translated by DeepL)
Eggs don’t stick.
Even though I burned the pan while seasoning, it still came out seasoned and non-stick. #1. Use enough high smoke oil. I just barely coated the pan. #2. Pay attention to how hot 3/4 is on your stove burner. If you have a large, high heat burner, don’t use it. As ugly as my pan is, it immediately cooked a raw egg evenly and flipped without sticking.
11,8" Crepe Pan
I prepared the pan as per the instructions attached - really hot water for removing the bee wax, scrubbing it, drying it, seasoning it with avocado oil (some tutorials online use grapeseed oil. I wanted to put the pan in the oven but it has a yellow, rubbery, brand mark towards the end of the handle so I didn't risk putting it in the oven. I brought the avocado oil to smoke, wiped it, let it cool, repeated another 2 times. Yet, the first scrumbled eggs I made in the pan with butter underneath were just burned to crisp quickly, stick to the pan so quickly. The first crepes were also unrecognizable despite of putting oil underneath. I will probably have to get a spray I can put oil into, just to spread the oil better on the surface. The crepes got better and better, the 4th and 5th didn't require any extra oil and didn't burn but they were just perfect. This is my very first quality pan, so I'm still getting used to it and the fact that some things can burn quickly in it. I'm not holding the pan and filpping the crepes in the air as I used to do with a teflon/aluminium pan as this one is just heavy as heck, but I'm now flipping them with a wooden flat tool..I will give 5 stars despite of foods (regardless of seasoning the pan) sticking down and the pan discolouring (which is said to be normal though), I hope I won't have to reduce the number of the stars!
I love De Buyer carbon steel pans, they are well engineered and perform beautifully in the kitchen. I already have 5 of them and each has its own purpose. I prefer De Buyer pans since they are much stronger and thicker than competition which leads to more heating stability and less of the hot spots during cooking. Heat is really distributed well, that was the main reason I keep buying these.
