Great shades

Love these shades. I can't even give them a 4 star because of the shipping that damaged the shades. My problem I didn't contact shipper to replace the damaged shades. Will order more

This window shade concept is smart as you can customize it's length. That is why I bought it. And the price is reasonable. However, the blind needs to be designed with better quality - robust to last. The wind up mechanism is weak; shades do not roll back - even when they are unwound and then tightened up. The core metal bends. Did not fair well when shipped. Out of the two I originally purchased, immediately I have had to return and repurchase 2x. (The new replacement had the roll up issue, so now I have another on order, will see if the next one works.) It is a waste of time to have to deal with blinds that are faulty out of the box. Not to mention the landfills will get them, which is not earth conscience. Design flaws need to be worked out to be a reasonable, usable blind. Will not purchase again.

I know this item very well. My mom bought them as I was growing up for all the windows in the house. It seems they’re not made as well today as they were back then. The bigger the shade the worst the shade works. When you pull it down to a certain length, the whole shade falls down the whole length. This is the second shade I bought that size that does the same exactly thing.

Size description is not accurate

Fantastic if the measurements described were correct. Says it’ll fit 22 inches but the shade does not go that small. I have a 22 inch window. The shade only went down to 23 1/4 so now I have to buy two more shades that are smaller. I wasted my money. It perfectly in my larger window and works perfectly was easy to use however, make sure your window is not smaller than 23 1/4 description is not accurate on the package.

You get what you pay for.

Our mistake, we should have read the reviews prior to purchase. Like the title says, you get what you pay for. It's looks cheap, it operates like it's cheap. Pulling the shade up and down and getting it to stop where you want it to is impossible. It might be black, but it's not a blackout shade. Save yourself some time. Purchase a better shade and avoid this product.

Not satisfied at all with the quality of this new replacement vinyl window shade. I understand that DIY concept eliminates someone who would be able to measure and cut to size a vinyl window shade. I used this type of product for many years with good satisfaction. The quality of material is flimsy and inadequate as well as my need to spend lots of time (trial & error) tearing and adjusting to fit. I will not purchase this item again

Affordable and does the job

It is very good for the price. The quality is not super high, like sometimes it doesn’t close very easily, or you have to be careful it doesn’t fold, but I love it. I would buy again. It is very cheap so even if it stays for 1-2 years I can buy a fresh one next year.

These shades are flimsy junk and twice arrived damaged

We bought these shades to cover large windows at our market and provide some shade from afternoon sun. The smaller shades are ok, if a bit of a pain to shorten the width on. The longer shades are absolute garbage. Even the ones that didn't arrive damaged (we need three, have so far returned one damaged one and received a replacement in even worse condition) are flimsy and difficult to move up and down. Once budgets permit, we will be replacing these from somewhere other than BB&B, where we have encountered more shipping and quality issues since they returned to business under the Overstock umbrella than we have ever encountered in the past.

Very happy with these roller blinds

It’s very difficult to find roller blinds like these. especially ones that will fit the odd-size windows in a Century home. So when I found these versatile blinds, I tried them. I love that I can my tear them down to fit any window in the house, effortlessly. And they look fine. Since I first bought these, I have purchased many more. I plan to replace all the old blinds in the house over time. Really you can’t go wrong with these tear-down blinds.

They thought about this with the design, but just didn't perform. I believe the length is the problem. Having a 72" length for any room is just stupid. Paying for 72" of material length, then requires a too strong spring design makes this shade hard to control. Too little tension doesn't work, too much tension and wind it down and you break the spring. Problem all created by 72" long on all windows 36" high, etc... Would not buy again, had to return the 70" wide shade, spring busted and sagged in the middle, no middle support possible with roller shade and small thin telescopic inner is not heavy enough to prevent bending. Just because it can be made doesn't mean it should be made.

wrong item was sent

I ordered a room darkening shade but light filtering shade was sent. It was disappointing to install this shade and find the wrong light blocking effect.

52 inch width shade is defective

I very much want the product however I have ordered it twice in the 52 inch width and both times it was defective. The shade is bent and will not roll up and down. Had to waste time returning, re-ordering, calling customer support. Will not order again. I did order the 37 inch width and it was fine and the quality is good.

Beware!

I bought this shade for the roller. I custom make my shades so I need a roller for them to be functional roll up shades. The rollers have always been hard cardboard in the past so I staple gun the custom shade to the roller. This roller is cheap metal!!! I tried using a glue gun but it doesn’t appear to be that successful in securing the shade to the roller. I will need to go to a different store to get the shade Home Depot use to sell.

Unexpectedly Pleased

I needed two shades so my son and I went to the hardware store to get them, only to find that they don't carry them in the smaller stores. A friend suggested that I try Walmart for them. I've purchased shades before and knew they had to be cut to the correct size, so I was amazed to learn that I could purchase these shades from Walmart, have them delivered, and then adjust them myself to the correct size, which was amazingly easy to do. Thank you Walmart.

Totally worthless

These blinds were not assembled correctly. The vinyl shade was not attached to the roller bar evenly so there was no way to roll the shade up so it would be even at the bottom and not have large wrinkles. We opened two different shades and both had the same issue. Also, material was very thin. These were less expensive blinds and I wasn't expecting really thick vinyl but the shoddy construction made then unusable,

Bent upon arrival

I would like to give this a great review but when it was delivered it was bent and so I can’t even put it up and see. I am having trouble trying to get information to return it and get another one. Hopefully I can get another one and give a good review.

The shades definitely darken the room. The temperature in my room went down at least 5 degrees. I would definitely recommend.
