If you have pain in your hamstrings from your chair seat, get yourself one of these. It's affordable, lightweight, and easy to assemble. I also like the rocking feature.
Lightweight, easy to assemble, helps to take strain off my hamstrings.
Get a $5.99 ikea footstool instead
I bought this less than a year ago for my home office. It cracked in half in the middle where my right foot rests. I spent $40 on this and replaced it with my kid's green and white Ikea footstool. Save your money and get the children's stool for $5.99.
Didn’t Work Out For Me.
Comfortable but wouldn’t slide out of the way for my chair to fit under desk so returned it. After I decided to return it I read the reviews which I hadn't before I ordered it. There were comments about it having a small part that broke easily. I looked at it to see where they meant and I could see how it could break if you tried moving it around. I hadn't realized it was made of plastic and the piece that could break would cause it to not be useable. I wondered if I should take a chance and keep it but then I saw that a competitor had the same product for $10 less so I returned it. I’m using an upside down box till I find a more suitable foot rest.
Tabs break and renders footrest unusable
I liked this footrest at first especially the rounded texture of the surface, despite seeing the reviews about it breaking easily. I thought I would take a chance and be careful with it. I liked how it has 2 different rocker angles, and I didn't move it about too much or rock it too much once I found the right setting. It broke just before the 2 year mark. Just like some other reviews mention, the plastic tabs that keep the top part in the grooves of the bottom rocker broke fairly easily and once both sides break the top slides off the rocker easily and isn't really usable anymore. Compared to some of the other reviewers I guess I'm lucky mine lasted more than a year, but it doesn't give a good impression of the Fellowes brand or the quality of its products. I need another new foot rest now and I'm not sure I would buy anything else from Fellowes. Unless you're prepared to buy a new one in 1-2 years, I don't recommend this footrest or the Fellowes brand.
Comes Apart Easily If
This foot rest is sturdy enough and a nice design, but if you move it even an inch with your feet the top comes off, as the top is not permanently attached to the bottom - but rather uses a slide design that is unstable. I ended up buying a different standard type footstool, as this was unusable for me.
Adjustable Footrest
Absolutely the best purchase yet! I also purchased a new chair the same day and now my posture is completely straight and taking all the strain off my back while working at my desk.. the adjustable footrest is the answer for keeping aligned properly. Thank you!
Not Designed for Frequent Use - Invest in something better
I bought this almost two years ago, and within the first month the footrest broke off the stand. Luckily, Staples replaced it for free because it was within the first month I purchased it (I have already posted a review about that experience). After recieving the replacement, I was extra careful but it still broke.
Decent footrest, worth the price.
Exactly what it says. It's a pretty sturdy footrest, feels cheap when unboxing and putting it together but it hasn't broken yet for me. Based on other reviews I expect it to last a year or two.
Great Footrest
This foot rest is perfect for me. I am 5'1 and brings my feet and legs high enough to take the extra back pressures etc away. I also like that you can rock your feet forwards and back to help with circulation and movement. Although you can rock it up/down it'll stay in place if you want to switch the angle your feet are at. There's no grippy coating so cleaning is an easy wipe off if it needs it. It's a no fuss foot rest that I would buy again.
Plastic components are not durable.
I found mine on the side of the road. Someone decided to get rid of it. It works well sitting still in angled position, however when trying to slide for circulation, it is not a smooth glide. Plastic pieces have broken off, and after a while, the plastic bubbles hurt my feet. Needs to be made of a stronger plastic, and maybe add a soft foam coating on the top, especially for the price the manufacturer is asking for.
Don't Throw Out the Box!
If you buy this footrest, do not throw out the box!
Not built to last
I bought this thing despite the poor reviews. I had one at my old office and it seemed fine, so why not? I'm very short and needed one for my home since this is where I work now.
Helps achy feet and ankles.
I am using this footrest at my desk. It does relieve leg and foot fatigue caused by my varicose veins or by just sitting too long. The size is nice and the height is just right. It tilts to different angles and I can actually rock my feet back and forth front to back to keep my feet and ankles moving, which is really nice. Good value and will probably be durable.
Save your money
I bought this foot rest to use at work. I sit at a desk for 8 hours a day and I wanted something to elevate my feet for comfort. It broke within a few months. There are only two small plastic tabs holding the top onto the bottom of the foot rest and one side broke off. It did have little rubber tips that were supposed to keep the footrest from sliding around. They came off almost immediately.
Broke in under 2 years
For something that is used everyday, I didn't expect it to last forever. Especially at the low price. It was used daily by me and sometimes by my son's friends that come over for gaming. Considering this, it has about a 1-2 year life between when it partially breaks (one side) and when it completely breaks.
Overall a help if I turn it vertically
I like it, I had one for years, but left it at my old company. When I started my new company, I started having knee issues, so I replaced it. I like that I can rock it back and forth with my feet when I'm sitting. One design thing I wish they would address is how wide it it in the front. I have to turn it vertically to bring it close enough because all rotating office chairs have legs that get in the way. When I sit up straight as I should, the chair legs get in the way and its too far away for my short legs to reach!
Very helpful footrest
This footrest is adjustable to two heights and slides forward and backward to allow feet to be at a comfortable angle. My only complaint is that it needs lubrication on the plastic tabs that link the base and the upper part. Perhaps if those had been covered by something like a Teflon sleeve it would operate smoother. It can stick to the point where the tabs actually break. This happened to the first one of these that I bought. I bought a replacement and applied a compatible grease to the parts that rub against one another.
Great Item at a Great Price
I inherited this item when I worked in an office, but lost it when I transferred to a home office. Recently I developed pain in my left calf and realized that I was winding my right foot around the desk chair when I was concentrating. I remember this item and was delighted to see that Staples still carries it. The foot rest helps me keep my feet in a comfortable good elevated position, and the pain in my left calf is gone. I also told my sister about it because she has developed neck pain from having to use two screens at the office. I bought one for her and she "LOVES" it and it has helped her tremendously. Bottom line is that this is a small investment that can pay great dividends in your comfort at the office.
CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!
This item is not even OK for the price. The foot rest is made of two pieces and there are tabs/slots to allow the foot rest surface to slide forward and back on the base. This is a very poor design of tab/slot.
Okay for the price
Though the footrest does slip out/off easily if you physically pick up the foot rest and move it, it is easily re-assembled. Annoying but doable.
