Plastic holders fell apart on contact with metal. Worst shelving unit we ever tried to assemble. Returned after few hours trying to assemble.

industrial shelf

This is a good looking industrial four tiered shelf. I ordered this to put into my basement closet for storage. It is so good looking, I'm thinking of leaving it out of the closet. The only disappointing part of this is one of the feet came broken. It took two of us only about fifteen minutes to assemble. It was quite easy. I think it looks great. I would highly recommend this.

When received, when I picked up the carton, I could hear a lot of loose parts moving around inside....once open, a quick check indicated all the necessary parts were there (some, such as the couplers and adjustable feet, were already assembled to the support tubes) and nothing appeared to be damaged. Several of the plastic ties securing the parts together had snapped (the white plastic ties were yellowed and brittle) and had allowed everything to shift around. That being said...assembly only took about 10-15 minutes, mostly double checking the location of the tapered bushings before lowering the shelf units into place. When loaded with boxes of "stuff" it was sturdy, didn't deflect and, as long as the lower shelves were loaded first, was very stable.If used on a solid floor (I have it on a carpeted surface) the adjustable feet will allow for precise leveling of the unit. A bag with two extra pairs of the tapered bushings was included, which will come in handy in the future if the shelf positions have to be changed and one or two of the bushings get damaged in the process.

Was expecting the shelves to be more sturdy

I just received this through the Home Depot Seeds program. The box shows model# SHF-05226 & includes 4 shelves that are 18" X 36". This is what I wanted and what I got but the description on honeycando.com says the shelves are only 14" deep. That is not accurate. I got on there because I am interested in getting a 5th shelf & brackets. Now I am concerned that if I give the model # I have and order a shelf I will get the wrong shelf.
