The lamp itself is fine. However the base does not fit leaving the lamp to be unstable. The base is also made of plastic and not sturdy.
Clamp is NOT metal
The website states that the clamp to hold the lamp to the table is metal. It is plastic. I am disappointed in that part of the construction because that is the thing that always breaks. Lasts about two years and then is no longer stable. Either fix the lamp - or fix the description on the website. I have recommended the product and will use it until the plastic clamp gives out then I will do this all over again but I wish somebody would make one of these with a metal clamp to hold it to the desk top.
Okay after a bit of rebuilding
Poor engineering on the clamp that supposedly adjusts the lamp angle. Ditto for the lamp base. Both can be corrected with a little imagineering; I fitted a 4mm phillips head machine screw and three No. 8 washers to the lamp shield clamp to overcome the sloppy manufacturing; a simple cardboard tube inserted into the lamp base that clamps to the table/drawing board takes up the .08" play in the base tube that otherwise causes the entire lamp to rotate at will.

THE LAMP IS GREAT BUT THEPLASTIC AROUND THE TABLE CLAMP NIS WEEK AS WELL AS WHERE BTHE LAMP SLIPS INTOTHE TABLE CLAMP --I HAD TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE IT HOLD BETTER AND MAKE IT FIT BETTER --SINCE THE ENGINERS ABIOUSLEY WANTED TO CUT COST
Useless to use as a work light
Very thin sheet metal construction with light, bendy plastic clamp. 60 watt max bulb. Freely swings from side to side.

Everybody knows those plastic brackets will break in a week or a month. You absolutely can’t depend on them. Fortunately, I have an ancient, ugly, MEETAL bracket for one lamp and a desk weight that the second one slips into.

Bought this lamp for my desk in my painting studio. Great luminosity, appearance, and easy assembly. Love the clamp versus a bigger base which would just take up workspace. I did not fully extend the lamp for a a couple days in order to to let the springs stretch out to avoid breaking. The only reason I would not give a full 5 stars is that the base where the lamp drops in, it does not fit as snug or securely as I would like. This area allows the lamp to swivel as it should, but the lamp wobbles a bit when swiveling due to the extra space. Great purchase overall

Nice item but the spring tension was a little to high to allow the lamp full flexibility in placement without cranking the tension nuts way down. Leaving one top spring off works fine, but not as designed. probably will break in after awhile.
Great Buy
In this age of "space matters" this is great idea. Lots of light that clamps to the desk taking up no space and with the flexible arm for direct or indirect lighting as needed. The price was great also
