I was able to use this gate by actually modifying it to the point where I used the two end pieces with the curves, and some of the hardware. I welded two top rail sections to the top and bottom. The gate as is would probably be ok for a chicken coop application. I wouldn't trust it to use with an enclosure of large dogs. I threw away the support cable and welded in a piece of flat mild steel strap to support the gate from sagging. I also replaced the stock chain link fabric with standard chain link. I spent about an additional $70 but ended up with a solid full 6' wide gate with a 76" clear opening. Unless you are fairly adept at fabrication, I would purchase this gate only after assessing exactly what forces are going to be applied to the gate. The four self-tapping screws in my opinion are not sufficient enough to provide the strength required at each corner. I ended up fully welding the new top and bottom rails in place. Like I said, for you this might be exactly what you need. For me I needed something a lot more solid that the stock supplied components. I bought the 3' wide by 4' high gate also and it came fully built with the heavier chain link gauge fabric and was perfect.

This gate is pretty lightweight, but I added 6' roll fencing to the inside to support the chain link. You do need tools to assemble; and I bought 2-way door lock. Attached to a 6' roll fence (fence w 2"x4" openings) holding in 2 45lb dogs, and 70lb dog, and works well for that. Been up for about 2 months, I do expect it to last for years.

We needed to widen our existing single chain link gate to gain equipment access to the yard. The best way to accomplish that was to add a second gate. The gate we purchased from Home Depot worked out excellent.

Good gate, missing hinge parts

I like the adjustable feature, fits my opening perfectly. Sturdy gate. However nothing in the description told me that post hinge pins are needed. The kit is incomplete, and Lowe's doesn't seem to carry them. Not quite five stars.

It was perfect. Nice quality. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong size. Operator error! HD did not have a 4'x4' in stock. Had to go to another big box to get the size needed.

Product is well made and easy to construct. Lightweight, strong, and works well. The reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 star is because the description on the box fooled me to thinking the gate was wider than it is. I was needing a gate that was 72 inches wide, and a picture on the box shows dimension arrows to the edges of the gate with the words "ADJUSTABLE for ANY GATE OPENING up to 72 in. wide." The dimension arrows to the edges of the gate gave me the impression that I could adjust the gate to 72 inches wide. The reality is the gate maximum dimension is 68 inches. I had to come up with a way to add 4 inches to my gate opening, which I did, but it would have been a lot easier if the gate was 72 inches wide. There is nowhere on the box nor in the online advertisement that shows the maximum dimension of the gate as 68 inches. Such a dimension would have been very helpful, and I hope it's included in the future.

This gate was not damaged , but I did return it. The tag stated that it was 42 x 48. In the process of installing it, I noticed it wasn’t wide enough and it should’ve been because my gate opening is 48 inches. So a 42 inch gate is exactly what I needed. (Since the hardware takes up some inches as well) However this gate only measured 37 inches wide. Brought it back to the store only to find that all of your 42 inch gates were actually 37 inches. I’m very confused as to why

Actually this is a kit - assembly required

The title is not quite accurate. This is actually a kit (a gate kit) that you have to assemble. The chain link fencing is rather thin and cheap. The chain links weren't always linked so I had to link/tie several of them together due to sloppy assembly by the Chinese manufacturer. The kit included 10 chain fence ties that are pot metal and not galvanized steel that I could bend easily with my fingers - again cheap. The manufacturer does not include post hinges so I would say this is an incomplete kit. I had to order separately the post hinges, associated carriage bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts. This is an unnecessary friction point for the customer. It took me about one hour to assemble the gate. I would have preferred to purchase an already-assembled gate versus trying to piece together an incomplete kit.

Written Directions Less Useful Than the Drawings

Directions were included as was all hardware except the gate hangers. The quality of the material is what passes for top of the line in today's market but not nearly as heavy duty as the older gate this one replaced.
