Decent basic closet system
This was relatively easy to put up and if you don't have an old, crooked house, it will be even simpler. My closet was at the wider end of the range listed but i couldn't figure out a configuration that would allow me to hang clothes at different heights and still use both long shelves, so I only used a part of the shelving. In the end, I think a more customizable option would have been better but for the price I paid, I can't complain. It seems sturdy and will hold up.
Easy to install and very affordable.
It was very easy to install and it did not make our small closet feel smaller. The hardest thing was trying to find the best configuration to match our needs. We liked it so much that we purchased a second set for my husband's side.
Easy to install and configure
Like the ease of installation and flexibility of configuration. From past experience, this lasts forever. Drawers tend to come off the track and fall when pulled out.
Good versatility, tricky installation
I will say I do appreciate the versatility of this system. It’s meant for a variety of sizes and you can arrange the clothing rods and shelves in a number of ways. However, the instructions for installation were poorly formatted in my opinion and the clumps of texts made it difficult to read at times (each step was outlined in English, Spanish and French as opposed to having manuals divided by language). I plan on keeping it for my closet but don’t think I would buy this again.
Closet system
Very easy to put together and looks very professional. This isn't a professional closet solution but with some ingenuity, you definitely get the best bang for your buck at a fraction of the cost.
Great Closet Kit
Directions were easy to follow. It was easy to mount the rails once I figured out the spacing we needed. Being able to rearrange the shelves made set up easy. Only complaint is that the hanger rod seems to move more than I wanted. But once all the clothes are hung, there was no issue. Great value for what you get and made great use of our space.
Installation was pretty straightforward and the shelves are extremely easy to rearrange! I do recommend having a second set of hands to hold pieces in place but after the initial rails are installed the rest can easily be done by one person!
Not the best
I’ve had experience with similar Elfa and Rubbermaid track closet systems. The ClosetMaid system just feels cheaper, especially these drawers. I was especially disappointed that the track hangers required mounting screws at specific intervals, which meant I couldn’t align them with my studs. I had to drill holes larger than 1/2” in my drywall to use their supplied toggle bolts instead of putting screws into studs.
Overall good product
Purchased this as part of a closet refresh and to add an additional closet rod. Overall it seems like it will be okay for typical closet usage. Install was straight forward, but does require some pre-planning.
YOU NEED THIS!
great way to start the New Year with organization. it's a relief to be able to see everything in your closet without having to dig through piles of stuff, especially if you have to do the wardrobe change-over from summer/winter
Great closet system. Very easy to instal. I would only recommend get better wall anchors than the one attached since screws didn't want to go in it. But I love final results.
Great product which was super simple to assemble! Our wardrobe looks amazing now, and our friends can't believe it was done on a budget! Delivery was quick and efficient and arrived exactly in two days. I would definitely order from Wayfair again.
Easy and quick install to create more closet space
Getting the shelf was one of the best decisions I could make, prodded by my spouse who was looking to create more space in the closet. Installing it was not a hassle either. The kit has been made with easy installation in mind. It was completed in about an hour and a half, including the time to sort and move my clothes to the newly installed shelves.
Horrible product, rod bends super easy. Do not buy! Also, this is my 2nd review ever that I wrote, so I tend to be super honest and direct, the customer service dep has hang up at me multiple times w/o even wanting to listen my concern and I am a returning customer who has spend more than 10K in purchases at Way Fair over the last year! Pretty sad!
Perfect system for small walk-in closet.
This system was perfect for my small walk-in closet. my closet is 5 feet by 7 feet. This system was easy to assemble. My husband built it alone in less than 2 hrs. Very sturdy. Can be configured in a few different ways. Maximizes your space...providing you declutter of course. lol.
5 Stars
I purchased this to repair my existing closet made shelf. I have a brand new house that was built this year, while I was sleeping one night a 6 foot piece of shelf just fell out of the wall. It happened in the spare room too. So I discovered that nothing was attached to the studs, so with any weight at all it would fail. So I decided to use this version like in the main part of my closet. After filling the holes, texturing and painting I was ready to go.I watched a couple utube videos, I wish I had a better drill. I had to screw my screws into studs by hand. So it took me two days but it went up really easily and it will not fail. It's easy enough anyone can do it. I like the fact that you can change the configuration whenever you need too!
Don't put too much weight on the top shelf
It was easy to install and came with toggle bolts and drywall anchors. It did not come with sheet metal screws which I needed for my stainless steel studs. However the drywall anchors did not work very well in my drywall, they punched right through and one of them actually came out, dragging the whole entire shelf down full of clothes and gouging my walls up. This would not have happened if the vertical standards had a notch at the top where they sit on the horizontal support, that would have held them in place, instead of just a slot. If there is much weight on the shelf the vertical support can pull away from the horizontal standard.
Probably cheaper options out there.
The idea of having a strap anchored to the wall and hanging the shelf connectors from that simplifies installation and allows for adjusting the vertical supports. That's good stuff, but this isn't the only product that offers that. There are probably cheaper options. So, is this worth a price premium? Meh. I could find a few faults and there are a few cheap looking components. The drywall anchors require massive holes in the drywall. That's probably my biggest complaint. The second complaint is that you WILL use them. On the positive side, it works for my use and doesn't look too bad. Took me about 1.5hrs to install, but I was working over the top of my laundry machines... So, ymmv.
ClosetMaid ShelfTrack 4 ft to 6ft x 12in white
We had the normal closet like everyone else. The closet with 1 long wire track on top so all the clothes hung the same level and the top had a shelve that was too tall for my short wife to use. And yes, it was cluttered with crap on top and crap on the bottom with shoes and boxes everywhere. Well, not anymore. After 4 hours, it turned out beautiful. I started by taking the old track out and used my old mudding in the basement. Sanded all the small holes after an hour and used my old white paint I had also in the basement. After 2 hours I started building my new closet maid system. Followed the directions that were easy to understand and measured 3 times before I drilled any holes. After 3 hours of starting the closetMaid, I was done. Total time 5 hours! Take the time to mud in any holes, sand and paint. It is worth it. My wife loves her new closet. Vacuum when finished.
I anticipated better
I bought the ClosetMaid ShelfTrack after our exuberant kittens tore down the ClosetMaid cheap-as-chips standard stuff. This was to be the upgrade to ensure they wouldn't manage to repeat their act of vandalism. I chose this as it was available in store, but I wish I'd held out for the Rubbermaid. It just doesn't seem as sturdy, exact as I had hoped. I would have put all my weight bearing on the vertical sections, ensuring they were secure in studs. Asking the top part to manage the bulk, by drilling 1/2" holes to stuff wall anchors in, then presuming (for my studs seem to be space randomly) that the holes will line up seems hoping for the best. Equally, the way the shelfing sits on the brackets doesn't scream strength.
