Exceeded my expectations, nice clean and ready for stain or paint.

I bought 2 of these and when I stained them (as you would expect to be able to do with an unfinished wood) they stained very unevenly. One stained fine but the other had darker spots all over it. These were not cheap and I am very unhappy with the quality. Would not recommend unless you are planning to paint them.

Purchased to add to the reclaimed wood mantle I made for our fireplace. I chose these as, with everything else in a 122 year old farmhouse, they had to be customized. I was able to shave some off the backside on one to make the corbel flush with the mantle. Stained and three coats of polyurethane to match the mantle and they look like they have been there for 122 years. Very satisfied

The corbel was used to mount the giraffe as a toilet paper holder in the powder room. It works perfectly at putting the paper at the right height and holding the giraffe in place

We used these corbels to restyle our fireplace, they were high quality and easy to paint once they were installed. Updated the fireplace for minimal cost!
