Dusty boxes

Outside of boxes were awfully dusty in store. Filters were packed in a plastic bag inside the box so no problem there.

Instructions should be more prominent

The machine works fine but support is lacking . I did not know I was supposed to clean the filter after vacuuming til I bought anew filter. I also did not know I was supposed to reset the filter light fora month or two after installing said new filter. Still the purifier works great and I am healthier for it.

Excellent for allergies

I have severe allergic reactions to hay and I'd been struggling for a while before I decided to get an air purifier and this filter to go with it. It's reduced my allergies to almost nothing and improved my health significantly.

Great Performance and Aesthetically Pleasing

We have used two of the Alen Breathesmart 45i purifiers for almost one year. They operate seamlessly on auto mode and are quiet until a higher fan speed is needed when the air becomes unhealthy. Then the fan noise is obviously louder, but still not obtrusive. We purchased these to filter construction dust from a six-month remodeling project in our home, as well as to clean the polluted air from Canadian wildfire smoke that somehow drifted to our region nearly 500 miles from the wildfires. Nearly every day last summer our outdoor air had an AQI toward the high end of moderate and for several weeks we had some of the worst air in the U.S. The outdoor air was bad enough that trees several blocks away were shrouded in a bad air cloud and there was a noticeable smell from the fires. Our furnace has a basic filter that removes some outdoor particles but is not effective at cleaning air polluted by wildfires – or rude neighbors who think it is quaint to burn wood in their fireplaces and on their patios. The Breathesmart 45i capably does what our furnace filtration cannot accomplish. I am confident we are breathing much better air than would be the case without the Breathesmart 45i. I researched other brands and other Alen models before deciding to purchase the 45i. Accounting for the size and multi floor design of our home, these seemed the best solution for our needs, and we are generally satisfied with their performance. The lifetime warranty and reasonable cost of replacement filters provide additional benefits. The only issue I have found is our filters are not very effective at removing cooking odors, even when placed close to the source of the odors. We even tried the upgraded charcoal filter but there was no noticeable difference in eliminating cooking odors.

It does what it should

It is only when you change the filter for the first time you realize how hard the air filter is really working. The old filter was a disgusting mess and I probably should have set up the subscription to replace the filter sooner.
