Excellent air purifier and humidifier that only needs to be occasionally cleaned and dusted. It does a great job of keeping our bedroom cleaner especially with a pet. 5 years use for the filters is fantastic too, worth the investment.

[Rewarded Review] Impossible to clean; traps mold and rust

I invested in this very expensive product because I thought that it would effectively purify and humidity my home. It is IMPOSSIBLE to clean - literally, when mold collects in the water container (not to mention all the crevices of this poorly designed humidifier) which it will because there is stagnant water, the opening is too small to clean the container and there are too many angles that you cannot properly clean it.

I got this recently because I have allergies, and so do other members of my family. We also have eczema and asthma. Got a new cat, and it's a lot on our sinuses and allergies. Allergy medicine helps but we needed to get our air quality under control. This has helped a lot. There's less dander flying in the air and less sneezing when I wake up. Would recommend two if you have a huge home.

Inexpensive and functional

There is no noise level. You forget it's on. I move this from the bedroom to the living room which is the middle of the house. I like that it's easy to transport because on days that I'm cooking or have a lot of smells in the house or have my patio door open, I like it to clean the whole house. However at night, I really like that humidity just for me. So I move it sometimes in my room when I know I need that humidity. I am really excited for this clean air.

I purchased this unit to both clean and dump some humidity into the cold winter air of my bedroom. It is super quiet and put into auto and it kept the humidity level at around 45% easily. The unit looks a bit bulky but it is super light. Getting the water tank in and out is also dummy proof.

This product is really mind blowing. My whole family love it. It gives us comfort especially at night. The price is not bad compared to the other on that we bought that its only one day we used then the purifier is shut down (dyson). But this one great one. You need to buy yours too. Of course this is Sharp proven and will long last.

I want to return it but it seems like I just missed my return date. To me, this machine dries up the air and my nose gets super dry since I started using this machine with the fact that it is a air purifier with humidification function. I really hope I can return it. It is surely quiet but not functional as described by most reviews at all.

Still my favorite HEPA filter

This thing completely eliminates the smell of two men and an indoor cat. When you walk in it just smells clean. It also puts just the right amount of moisture in the air to keep it from being staticky, but not sticky. I've had several brands of air purifier but as they die I've been replacing them with more of this model.

Very good! When on low, you need to check the lights to see if it is working. It is that silent! Only thing is that when you use it with the humidifier function it takes up water from the tank at distinct times (not continuously), and that makes a little noisy sound. You can not set the humidity level separately, it changes with the fan speed only. When it blows, you feel like it is a little bit cool air, not so great in winter, but would be nice in summer. The room really smells very nice after the device runs for some time.

I use this in a one bedroom apartment and it has been amazing for my allergies and breathing. First I do not wake up with any post nasal drip or irritation. Second, I burn food pretty frequently on account of not knowing how to properly cook. It removes odors and smoke by the middle of the evening and helps to keep my apartment smelling nice and clean. I would recommend this.

This air cleaner / washer also humidifies the air to add much needed humidity / moisture to the dry winter air inside my home. The unit looks very sharp (no pun intended) and attractive. It is very easy to use but I wish the filter intake is on the front of the unit instead of the rear because you need at least at foot of empty space in front of the filter intake to ensure optimal performance. That said, you really should not run the unit against the wall which takes up valuable real estate in the home. Another drawback that this unit has is that the humidification feature only provides cool mist humidification without an option of warm mist so the temperature of an enclosed room such as a bedroom could get cooler.Given the high price (average of $350 with discount) and these shortcoming, I can only give this unit a 3-star "Average" rating. Hope this helps other shoppers considering this item.

Very nice, you can switch from humidify/clean to just clean a nice feature for us at night since it likes to gurgle a bit. I like you can turn off display at night but a couple little lights are still on, on the top. Not a real issue since I just cover them with magic marker. Easy to fill, lasts us about 36 hours. Kind of a pain to clean but I guess most of them are. You need to let it run dry then dump out remaining water otherwise it could get messy.

I love this machine! I searched for what seemed like an eternity for an air purifier but couldn't find one I liked, and I was also looking for a humidifier. We use this one is our large master bedroom and have been running it nonstop for a couple of months now. The first day after using it my husband commented he couldn't smell that lingering dog smell anymore so that was a great sign. You can turn the lights off so you don't get a glare at night, and the beep that lets you know it's out of water. Instead there is a little light that will flash red when it's out of water. It will keep purifying the air if it runs out of water which is nice. I use the ionizer option generally during the day when the bedroom door is left open. I did have to read through the directions on cleaning the filters when you get the notification that they need cleaned as it's a multi-filter machine, but it's pretty easy to do really. We have hard water and it does build up inside but if you follow the directions, it cleans easily enough. I haven't checked yet on replacement prices for the filters but we did buy the extended warranty. The only real downside is filling the tank. It's not the smallest one I've used, but it's not large and depending on how dry your air is, you may need to fill it twice a day. There have been many times though that it has lasted 2 or 3 days. The tank pulls out very easily and it's easy to put back, however, as is often the case, it's slippery because the outside is smooth plastic to match the rest of the purifier design, and you have to hold it upright while you fill it because it does not have a flat bottom. I'm usually the one to fill it up; I believe my husband would have a difficult time holding on to it and filling it because of his RA. It's not much of an issue, but it might be something some people would need to work around somehow (maybe by adding grip tape to the sides). So far it's far exceeded my expectations and is far superior to others I've been looking at or could find.

When I bought this product I knew that the tank for the water was small from reviews I had read. When I purchased it I thought, "Oh, this isn't bad. People complain too much." But I do wish the tank were bigger. Other than that I have no complaints. It's been a month since my purchase and I just cleaned out the water tank and at the monthly clean up where the water releases into. I am happy to say that water was dirty as heck thanks to the filter cleaning it out. It was just concerning how disgusting the water was and some of the build up on the filter of the humidifier. We will be moving soon and I am super happy about that now that I know what the purifier is filtering out for us.

Pros: Small so it doesn't take up so much space seems to work well Light weight Hepa Life filters last a long time. 5 years ( supposebly) Carbon Filters last a long time , 2 years( assuming you wash it) Supposedly Light Indicators warn you when you have to do Maintenance Negatives: If I want this against a wall then the intake has to be facing the wall which makes no sense to me. So I have backwards so the intake is facing towards the air of my room vs just the wall area But than I can't read the Monitor Displays. Not a big deal though Its somewhat loud on high speed Fan settings but it doesn't bother me and its right next to my bad. The Plasma Cluster leaves this weird smell. It kind of reminds me of plastic but its kind of off so I turned it off. So I'm assuming that's the Ozone smell that some people are talking about. Its not super strong but its noticeable and I can feel how people with Asthma or other sensitivity can find this bad. You still have to perform maintenance. About once a month according to the manual ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I just received this item today so i will update this in the future.

this is my third air purifier/humidifier. the first time i bought a cheap brand for about 130 and the dust meter is all over the place. it just didn't impress me all that much so i had to return it. it wasn't too quiet, and has only the purifying function. I bought another one for the contemporary look for the house. that one was not cheap either and doenst have purifying function. I came across this sharp one and decided to give it a shot. what attracted me was that its' purifying and humidifying in one. when i got the unit, it's on the larger side. the look is pretty clean and sleek though. i use it for my bedroom which is not too big, so the machine can cover the area without a problem. it's relatively quiet, but occasionally you would hear the water bubbling. the display light can be turned on or off so that it doenst bother you at night time sleeping. i don't have allergy problems, so i can't tell how much air the unit actually purifies. I was hoping to live in a healthier environment, my house gets dusty very easily and i don't want to breath in all the dust particles. the only concern i have is the filter. i haven't figured out how often i need to change it or how much it cost. it doesn't seem like a cheap filter to replace. hopefully not too often. i would recommend this for those who want to have cleaner air

Previously had a Honeywell Air Genius that was returned because of build quality issues. After much research, settled on this Sharp unit and couldn't be happier. I have a dog that is wildly allergic to dust mites, so indoor air quality is paramount to me.
