Great heat pump ac/heat unit

works great as a heatpump unit for heat. The unit should come as a dual hose unit to begin with and not require us to purchase an accessory. I wish there was a setting to set a delta temp to prevent short cycling when used in an area that might be a little too small.

Portable GE A/C Unit Not Cooling Long

This is my second purchase of a portable GE a/c unit. The first purchase of a portable GE a/c unit (from Lowe's) only would cool my bedroom for around 2 years and then it declined to cool the temperature. Called to have it repaired, but GE no longer carries or if ever carried the parts. The new portable GE a/c unit that I purchased online is being discontinued and is on clearance for $352 and was regularly over $600. The warranty program is too expensive, ($32 per month) to carry on the portable GE a/c unit. GE is giving me a rebate of $75 towards the purchase of the my new portable GE a/c unit, but I still feel like I was screwed because I spent almost $800 to purchase 2 portable GE a/c units in the last 3 years. I am starting to worry about portable GE a/c units and starting to think twice about GE. I probably would have chosen a different brand, but most stores put away their portable a/c units for the season and I did not want to purchase an unknown brand online, so I gave GE a second chance to make things right. Only time will tell if my purchase of a second portable a/c unit from GE is worth the effort. GE, I am giving you a second chance with selling me a second portable a/c unit. Let's pray that the second portable GE a/c unit will cool longer than 2 years and moreover; I did not use the first unit that often, except during the summer or during other warmer temperature days.

Oooweee. My central AC unit went out and I live in Dallas I found this portable unit on sale and was able to stay in my 2400 sq ft house for 5 days cool until the outside unit was repaired. I watched the cowboy games wrapped in a blanket

Love the dehumidifier!

It's going on 3 years now, I use it almost year round depending on the weather I prefer to sleep in a cold room. No complaints at all! Well worth the $ spent. My window is a big taller than normal ones so I was bummed out I couldn't seal it more with the exhaust it came with but other than that 5/5 !

Stopped working after two years.

The AC worked for two years. On the third year it stopped cooling. It'll run as a fan or a heater but will not cool.

Awesome and reliable

I have used this AC unit for a little over a year and have loved it. It pulls so well keeps proximately 1000 ft.² right at 73°. I would highly recommend.

Worst Buy

Do not waste your money. Basically a hot fan after 2 years of having it. To be honest, it’s no stars.

Major disappointment

This is the third year I had this air conditioner and it worked fine for two years. I only use it 1 month, maybe 2 months out of the year sparingly. This year the unit will not cool. Just works as a fan. I called GE support and, of course, the unit is out of warranty. They offered me a little bit of money off a new air conditioner. Very disappointed with the unit and GE.

Major disappointment

The air conditioner worked great for two years and now it does not cool at all. No sure why, but this is a major disappointment. I only use it at most one month out of the year.

blows hot air

Used for 1 month last summer. Plugged in this year and it blows just like a fan. No cooling. Cleaned filters still with no luck. When it worked last summer it was great.

Horrible waste of money

Awfully bought it 2 years ago and worked for 2 months.niw it only works as a FaN does not blow cold air .I doeng 600 dollars to have it work 2 months. Worst investment ever

Great little gadget

This portable air conditioning really can cool down a space. It’s easy to set up and run. It is very heavy so be aware of that. And a bit loud, but I haven’t tried any others so I have nothing to compare it to

Poor Quality

It is the worse NEW A/C - Heater I’ve ever known. Compressor stopped working after 2 weeks. It’s worst than poor and I bought it at Home Depot, my favorite store for home improvements. Will be hard for me to purchase a GE Product again. GE should replace it for free or return my money.

These don't last very long

These little units work fairly well for a couple of years. But you can't expect much longer use, unit went out after 2 years.

Faulty controller boards

This unit worked flawlessly for a year. I unplugged it for a few months, but when trying to use it again, it will not blow cold air. Are replacement parts available as most likely the controller board has gone bad?
