The best!
Just go ahead and get this, especially if you have the All Clad 3 qt sauce pan to go with it. It fits perfectly. This is a well made piece and I wish I would have gotten it sooner rather than trying all sorts of DIY double boilers. This is going to make my life much easier and the results far superior.

Meets all expectations
This double boiler insert has the same high quality that I've learned to expect from All-Clad. The features I most appreciate are: large enough to hold two quarts easily, curved lip for no-drips pouring, and it sits relatively higher in the saucepan so I don't need to worry about whether the bottom is in the water instead of above it. I use it primarily for heating milk.

Not as good quality as made in USA pans
Thinner metal than I expected. I do not like that it is made in China. Handle is different shape than either my existing D5 or Copper Core pans.

Excellent accessory for All-Clad pot
Fit perfectly in the 3 quart pot. I used it to make Buffalo chicken dip with lots of cream cheese. It cleaned up beautifully in the dishwasher.
