Slope

If it had more slope on bottom would be a lot better. Spend more time and water trying to push food particles into drain. Other than that fits our needs.

June 2014 Update ****************** Sink is still going strong. Absolutely no complaints about it. I uploaded some photos of it installed and they are located in the "customer images" area towards the bottom right of the screen here on Home Essentials Direct. I hope the photos clear up some confusion about how this sink looks as one or two commenters mentioned that it wasn't an apron front sink. Nope, it's not- and the Home Essentials Direct title clearly says that it is an undermount sink. It's not made to be an apron front- if that's what you want, you need a different model! The bottom and sides are a biscuit, pebbly finish (wipes completely clean, by the way). This sink hasn't disappointed. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! ****************** Original Review We recently remodeled our nearly 50 year old kitchen. I knew I did not want another double bowl sink in my kitchen, ever again. I personally didn't like the divider because I cook a lot and the pot handles always get caught. But that's a personal preference. So the hunt began for a single basin sink! I needed one with the drain placement to the left (this sink is reversible for your needs) so that my disposal would fit as well as a pull out trash can. Those caveats made it really hard to find what I needed. I was wary of this sink because there was only one review. It had big shoes to fill. Even though I didn't love the double basin sink we had before, that thing was a tank. An older AmeriCast sink, it looked like new with a simple rub down of Barkeepers Friend, despite being decades old. I looked at other sinks three times the price of this Rohl sink, but couldn't find one with the proper drain placement. I took a gamble on this one, and wow do I LOVE it. Someone asked me about the finish on this sink: The entire inside is glazed, and the outside is a smooth finish but not glazed. The bottom is rough; picture an unglazed vase or coffee mug. I've had it about 2 months now, and let me tell you, it is a work horse! I know two months might not seem like long enough, but I cook a lot and make everything from scratch so I generate a lot of dirty dishes! I use cast iron skillets and big soup pots and I've not had a single issue with this sink. One time the handle of my Lodge skillet put a black mark on this sink, but a little rubdown got it to go away. Boiling liquids, tomato sauce, red wine- no staining issues. Size wise, it is perfect if you cook a lot, OR you just want to look in your kitchen and not see a stack of dishes in the sink as it is deep enough to hide anything you put in it. It is the perfect size for stacking dishes for loading in the dishwasher later. It's big enough to put a strainer of draining vegetables in one side and drinking glasses for the dishwasher on the other, without touching. I throw a lot of dinner parties, and two huge dinner plates sit side-by-side in this, no problem. I like to collect vintage stemware, and they sit in the flat bottom easily without tipping over. I have a smallish kitchen and this sink actually works as almost an extension of the countertop because the bottom is flat and the sides are square. I did buy the undermount kit for about $75 but my countertop people didn't need it. All in all, I think this sink is fantastic for my needs. It takes a beating and really looks sharp. People have actually commented on how much they like the sink! Good luck!

The sink is just as I wanted it, beautiful, sturdy and large. I had it mounted as drop in, although it is usually under-mounted. Love it! My friend joked that she could give her dachshund a bath in it - much more convenient than the bathtub since she would not have to bend over...
