Nice looking plate, the painted part is sort of a matt black (or Very dark brown) after repeated use it looks like will become shiny with wear. The bronze edges sort of look like they have had 60 grit sandpaper run over them to remove the black and let the bronze show. The plate is not super thick but it is thick enough it does not deform when the screws are tightened

I couldn't find this odd ball wall plate in any of the local stores. So glad I was able to order it online, since it matches all the the other wall plates in my kitchen. It looks great, it's well made and for a really good price. Will definitely look to Home Depot for when I need more of these for an upcoming remodel.

When I received the item, I noticed that the packaging was not that o Hampton Hay and was of a name I never heard before. The item did match.

Looks cheap and sloppy in person

Color on the edges looks like it's scrapped off. Product would be better with uniform color that is not sloppily and unevenly scraped off to create an "antique" look. Looks better in the photo. Was disappointed when i received this in the mail after ordering online. Home Depot, please tell the manufacturer not to scrape off the nice dark color. It would have a very nice, clean and rich look if the deep color was left unscratched.

Took awhile out on the website to figure out that this Amerelle Chelsea plate was an exact match in terms of edge design/finish/color, etc. as the Hampton Day Ascher nickel finish outlet plates but they are an exact match.
