I am tired of plastic plumbing parts. I had to replace this because the flimsy plastic eventually became so brittle, it broke. The new one didn't fit quite right, and in an attempt to put the handle back on after installing this, not only did this plastic piece of junk crumble, but the tiny screw is now stripped. I need another two new parts. I'm tired of not being able to take a bath. This lever has been stuck on the "shower" setting for almost a year now. We've made so many attempts at fixing this plastic piece of junk. Even the "chrome" handles are really plastic with plastic parts inside of them. EVERYTHING on this shower faucet set has been replaced at least once in less than 10 years.

Unfortunately the product doesnt fit the handle assembly for the American Standard 3875.509.002 Polished Chrome Colony Widespread Bathroom Faucet. There is a flat surface on the upper cylinder that is lacking on this product.
